First put something to keep the door open a bit. Then put the spring, ofc the lid part on the groove it is supposed to be. Then start putting the lid hinge part by putting the tap on place through the center of the spring, then slid the other end of the spring on the groove of the hinge. Then find the try to put the tap on the hole of the lid parts that has the big gear. When that is done just screw it. This method made this way easier and only thing that takes time is trying to find the tap hole. No more pinching the spring and try to fiddle it there for 5min with one move.

Thanks for this, every video skips the springs and this was helpful; I had no clue where the spring was integrated. That said I couldn't understand or see what the "slot" was. If anyone else is confused its a spot on the actual underside of the lid. I thought the lid was only relevant because of the gear teeth and the hole in it, but if you look on the top left corner of the lid (when facing it with the part that lifts closest to you) there's a curving line. On the left side there's a thin lane like a highway off ramp, that's where you're fitting the round part of the spring between. Once I understood that it was a cinch.
I was able to do it from the side rather than the back and put the small gear in after it and adjust as, like he said, once the spring's connected you have a lot of flexibility. I'd also suggest waiting to put the fan screen back until after to avoid anything flukey.
