I’m a nurse. Weight, especially for people of color is related to inflammation and no sleep. Cortisol levels were made to kick up the body to get thru “fight or flight,” status. Constant stress, no sleep, living in fear keeps those levels elevated. Unfortunately, we no longer hunt and gather. We no longer go days without eating, while tracking our next meal. You need sleep and rest. SUGAR is inflammation. STARCH inflammation. STRESS INFLAMMATION. Your not fat, your body is inflamed. Walking for long periods, doesn’t even have to be fast. The low level, none stress steady walk puts your body on a rest state while doing cardiovascular exercise.

My auntie lost 200 just from walking every night
And drinking a gallon of water a day
Eating fruits and veggies every day
Congratulations on your weight loss 🥰✨❤️

I'm only halfway thru this vlog and the first thing you mentioned is THEE most important, quality of food.....America so busy trying to clone shit and pump pesticide on fruits n veggies, and hormones into livestock, it's no wonder teenage girls built like women, and boys big as beef cattle......My homie moved to Hawaii 5yrs ago, and dropped 50lbs in the first year, just off GP.......You're spot on Queen......Now back to your vlog😉

I agree with you about sugar. I’m able to maintain my weight by limiting sugar and carbs.

so proud of you. We bought an airfryer. We have given up salt and sugar. We don't fry food anymore. Changing your food is a lifestyle change. We also have a dog that makes us walk also. Keep it you looking good.

Yes yes yes ❤ you are so correct like when i lived in the bay area all i did was walk. I didn't have a car, but didn't need one since public transportation was everywhere, but the moment i got a car and moved, the weight started to add up.
I'm now walking again around my neighborhood for 45 min to an hour a day and started adding fresh chopped fruit into my water pitcher and just drink that. Already see a difference. Keep it simple yall like you don't need to do strenuous activities to see results, just be consistent.
    You look amazing ❤🎉🎉🎉

Walking is such an underrated exercise. I told myself I’m going to start walking my dog more and find an activity I enjoy. Maybe biking around the city? Who knows… but I’m inspired. Thanks girl ❤️ And I’m proud of you!

I’ve been noticing your weight loss. I TOTALLY agree walking is the key. I walk about 5 miles a day. I think my body finally got used to it so I’m working on doing something different. And the soda thing! I took out Coke, now I need to take out the Sprite.

So true, I hope one day I can live in a more walkable city, I see a huge difference when I simply move more during the day. It’s very easy for a lot of us to sit on a computer all day and then sit in the car, sit on the couch, lay on the bed.
I try to walk an hour on my treadmill daily and I have success losing weight.

I definitely can't eat the same way that I did when I was younger. I am a runner but I also started to do more walking. I didn't think simply walking had such an impact until I got into a step challenge. It's true that you are what you eat. I agree to quit all of the junk, processed food for one. Eat meat in smaller portions. I realized when I get in the habit of eating too much meat, I gain weight. When I go on a streak of eating mostly plants, I lose weight. You actually did change your diet.

Everything you said is TRUTH!! I had an almost identical story to yours and made the same changes and lost the weight. From the pictures you showed, it looks like I have a similar body type as you, before and after, and just like you I didn't know that I had gained weight until I realized I had back fat and rolls lol I didn't leave the states but I left Houston and moved back to my city, which is extremely walkable, and that definitely helped.

whenever i travel i lose weight! its the food and the walking combo; im burning more calories than i consume. its so simple! but the way life set up in the U.S. it just makes it hard esp if you're in a car-centric city! my "walking" is usually on the treadmill or the trail in the park! thx for sharing!

I loved this video. Disagree with 1 part tho. You are not sol if you have no car in Houston. Depends on where you live. I lived in Richmond and me and my daughter would always walk. There was a walkway everywhere. The stores were close. I went 2 yrs without a car.

Walking dtermines my weight; VERY overlooked as exercise! Eat more vegetables (which naturally reduces your calories), don't drink too much (which naturally reduces your calories) and walk, walk, walk...even if you can drive.

Not only the US. Same experience whenever I leave Canada and go to the Caribbean. I literally drop 15 pounds abroad. WTH are we putting in our bodies in North America!?! 🫣
