- Two videos posted on social media capture the moment an Amtrak train in New York comes barreling in to the station, ploughing through mounds of fresh snow and enveloping passengers waiting on the platform. Both videos were shot by commuters who were waiting at the train station. The station is the Rhinecliff-Kingston Amtrak station in Rhinecliff, New York, situated along the Hudson River. Snowstorm Stella hit northeast United States on Tuesday, blanketing most of New York and New England with snow. Most schools and offices were closed. Transportation was also partially affected.

Omg I once was in a snow spray of a snow plow truck in Germany and that was heavy and we where all souked,( the bus had to stop so we walked home). I'm surprised nobody was hurt or Sept of the Plattform.

Thanks. I have to take an Amtrak train to get home on Saturday and I haven’t been to the station before so I have no idea if it’s an indoor or outdoor track AND I’m in a part of my state that gets a lot of snow!
How did it work out?
@@davidl6558 It was snowing the day I left but the tracks were clear and I got home fine. It was a packed train though (then again it was the start of winter break)!

Doubt there would be ice in this situation. It's fresh fallen snow. I would be more concerned about ice when it's had time to melt first.

totally the engineer's and Amtraks fault... lucky no one was seriously injured because they could have... That engineer should have enough sense to approach the station slow and at a safe speed.
LMFAO They run strict schedules. If he's not suppose to slow down....he doesn't.
You have no idea how trains work. He needed to get trough the snow - which he can't do If he approaches the station slowly. He would've gotten stuck and never made It.
