Had a great game even tho it was a low number game after a map vote. Had some nice banter going with the enemy heavy who was quite skilled and quite spy aware. So lets take this moment to see what was going on in my mind at the time and even some mistakes that I could improve on. FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY!

What to do if most of your teammates are spies and the enemy regularly spy checks and you're losing badly cause there's barely any offensive classes?

Exactly. Getting a backstab on a target in combat is impossible. You have 2 frames to react to, which is actually humanly impossible so u have to guess where they are. If you don't have a beast computer Spy and Sniper are impossible.

there are only like 6 players on blue team and one of them is a spy running around back field, it's appropriate
Usually means they're playing like crap, too. 4 Soldiers in front of you and no Medic? SPIN AROUND TO LOOK FOR SPY! Sniper dot right on your head and standing on top of 8 stickies? SPIN AROUND TO LOOK FOR SPY! Personally, I love it when they get uber paranoid, as each kill after that is just SO much more enjoyable.
I see them quite often. A shitbucket type. 9k+ hours on each class, he can kill you on ANY, he does everything at once and never fails. Never relaxes. Each second he's 100% focused like a bot. Disgusting type that gets 50-streaks and has 50 hats at once, one up on another. If I had to read him I'd say he'd do ANYTHING that would harm me most. He'd randomly shoot me in invis. Mr. P is skilled enough to get away from him but even he fails a few times.
The enemy team was lacking an Engineer to defend and relied too much on Heavies... they should be aware of team composition every now and then. :P
6 player team so I'll give it a pass :)

i really love messing around the enemy with voice commands, just yesterday when i was trying to play spy there was a pyro spychecking for spies and i gave him a ton of "spy!" and sure enough he went crazy with the flamethrower

If you want to play seriously/competitively don't use voice commands when cloaked and when nothing is happening. The enemy will just go crazy and spray everywhere, and you will be found.

Play spy like that go to unexpected places then strike when theyre distracted or you can do a fancy stab-from-above and look cool when it succeeds

I was one of the players in this game. If you notice gumper1969 was on the opposite team in the beginning. I was asked by the system to change sides to even out game play. What do you think of the new changes that valve has done to the game? So far I think it has been not bad. I played spy in this round which I normally never do. I actually did not that bad thanks to me watching your videos. Thanks for making them, keep up the good work
Ian Cameron I absolutely love the changes. Makes it a lot like pubs again. Mind you, it's not 100% like em but it's real close now. This is the first time in months I've played matchmaking and it feels nice that it defaults to the map we're on without votes.
its a good change, but its more of a change to undo a change that should not have happened...
I love it when the Spy pushes the payload in and wins the game. Often the enemy doesn't expect it, so their priorities are on killing the enemies. It's awesome. Keep it up Mr.P :)
Also them moments, when you sneak behind whole team, they lose second point and still not ready to defend last, and you're on last already, and cap the point instantly and clearly)))

Wow.... It's so interesting and entertaining to see MrPaladin's thought process as he goes into battle, how he outsmarts his enemies, and how he wins games. This definitely takes a bunch of skill, experience, and an amount of psychological manipulation. As someone who games on the side, I personally don't spend my free time that much on video games, and I am a bit of a newbie in TF2, so seeing this video was such an interesting experience and it reminds me that there is a long way to go as a TF2 player. This video will probably stay in my mind for a while. It doesn't matter if MrPaladin sees this or not. I'm just so overwhelmed and amazed that I can't resist leaving this comment.

You ever stalk an enemy whose hearing is too good? It doesn't matter if bombs are going off all around him, and you decloak a mile away, he hears you and has a machete waiting for you. (With crits!)
Am I just playing really badly? Or do they have their sounds modded in the game to allow them to hear footsteps and decloak more easily?
sometimes I think its sound mods... I have "tested" some players by decloaking at insane distances and seeing if they turn

Is that a thing? Because I remember Star did a video once on the Ap Sap, and complained that Wheatley isn't very easy to hear over the game. The only way to fix it is to go into the game files and change the volume settings for every single line.
So is it a mod added to the game? Or is it someone deliberately and meticulously going through sound files and adjusting them?

AGrayPhantom theres a way to mod the sounds. A friend of mine has his changed to the alert noise from metal gear solid at maximum volume so he can hear a spy doing spy things from across the map.

Personally, when I'm using the default watch, I always try to avoid chain stabs, because I know I can't get away with everything. I'd rather kill one person and live than kill a few and die.
The trick with Pyro was amazing, I need to try it on casual ;).
I don't know what you're talking about, the stock watch is great for survivability. Although it might just be because I often use the big earner and l'etranger for all the cloak in the world but whatever, just take my word
I love this dude he doesn’t rage when he dies. He also compliments the other team yknow he just seems like the one and only player in the server you can’t piss off when a kill you got on them looks a little bit cheated just because you lagged and it looks like you teleported in the killcam.

The only time I play spy is when I can annoy turtle engineers by staying cloaked and making them paranoid with voice commands.
I was on a casual server with friendly spies who were doing just that.
It was a long time ago. I improved as engi. Watched a bunch of uncle Dane. Am no longer a turtle engi.
Im a spy main, and the whole "spies see other spies" thing is so true, i can see my behavior mirrored back, they always retreat, often right into my waiting backstab, and they will frequently run off, and never shoot
Your mentality playing spy is absolutely diabolical.
what I like is that Paladin doesn't play Spy in order to get kills, but rather to distract the enemy. You hear him say it outright, by having the Heavy paranoid about the spy he isn't focusing on the objective, allowing for his team to make a push.

actually people spending quite lot of money in fancy cosmetic because they love it. because they love it they become good at it. so usually the ones using good cosmetic are skilled. BUT using gibus and pyrovggles so enemies care less about you and BAM !, dominate them and makes them salty is the best feeling ever

TIBO No, I can 100% assure you that he was hacking. He was looking in front of him, but the second I saw him from above, he aimed up and shot me. Same thing, he can aim and shoot at me while his back is turned.

I don't like paranoid heavy because kill them once they get super paranoid
I stab them two or three times, then switch to Pyro. They stay paranoid and are much easier to kill. Eventually switch back to spy when they catch on

Lary Mc Fly he was playing what I like to call the opportunist spy. It's really the point of the cloak and dagger. If he went hyper aggressive he would have been killed easily.
Lary Mc Fly Ah yes, another aggressive Spy brother. Nice to meet you. Btw, different spies have different playstyles. Acooma, Hei, Inso are notable examples. If you want to develop your skills as a spy, you will at one point need to change your playstyle and master others. Aggressive playstyles are fun as hell, but passive playstyles can be just as rewarding if not more but it requires patience.
