I had a great aunt hospitalized there back in the 1960's - I have a picture to prove it,she was there with my great uncle visiting her. This was when this hospital was converted to a nursing care facility long after it was a tuberculosis hospital. The picture I have is taken in the room my great aunt was in - with a window in her room ,and I could see the terra cotta roofing - which looks like clay pipes . I had a friend of my family that used to work there many, many years ago as a nurse . She told us a story of when she worked there as a young girl when it was a tuberculosis hospital . She said occasionally when a patient died,or declared dead she would take the patient off of their bed . Place the patient's body on a gurney ,and then push the gurney (stretcher - covered) down the hallway onto the elevator to go down to the lower level to the morgue . She then said one time she got a patient wheeled down to the morgue ,and the patient's body grabbed her ! It was rigormortis. 😜
+ToxicAliën This place is called Plymouth County Hospital aka Hanson Tuberculosis Hospital, the show Ghost Hunters even asked for permission to tape here but they were turned down because of the danger, the place is filled with asbestos. It has been abandoned for 25 yrs, it was built in 1916.
+michael / hosericotaconachocasadilamandillajones They are abandoned, it is not and even it is, it's stupid for it to be illegal. they are abandoned buildings, they don't do anything they don't vandalize or destroy anything.
I love watching these abandoned places. U guys are lucky to have these amazing places in America. I'm from UK we don't ever have buildings like this. It's a shame as a architect I love exploring building such as the ones in ur video. And love knowing the history behind it. I thrive on things like that. Hopefully one day I will come to America just to do what you guys do. It's amazing. UK is way to boring to have buildings like this. Keep up the good work guys 😀
shahzia ali -- "...[in] UK we don't ever have buildings like this." That's because Europeans value their heritage, and do not consider everything to be disposable. (America, the throw-away society.)
Really cool! I love exploring old buildings (I'm actually getting my degree in it). Love the quality of your videos. Most people's camera work makes me seasick. Just be mindful of loose asbestos when you're exploring. When it's encapsulated it's fine, but watch out for degrading or damaged tiles or open insulation. Can't wait to see where you go next!
Historic Preservation. A lot of people think it's about turning old buildings into museums, but there are jobs that pay you to crawl around in old houses (although you've usually been hired to assess the building or develop a rehabilitation plan). In the last couple of years, I've explored a bunch of abandoned buildings for school projects.
You should check out the abandoned asylum in Havelock, Quebec - Dorea. Read up on it; the place has a very sinister history and is said to be severely haunted.
This building was in the town over to where I live, literally 15 minutes away. It’s been demolished now and it’s gone. But it’s cool to see there’s a video to capture what it was before it got demolished.
This channel is going to really help me out when I'm old enough to travel. I love exploring abandoned places, and these places are perfect. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
There is a massive cast iron machine there called an autoclave - most all dentists use this type machine on a much, much, smaller scale to sterilize instruments . This autoclave that I saw there was just so huge - It had a front door with an iron wheel like a submarine door with long steel tines to turn into the outer edge of this massive machine to lock this door from all points because of massive steam pressure - like a pressure cooker . This autoclave was large enough to park a Volkswagen Beetle into it . I would only imagine that hospital beds were put into the autoclave to sterilize them from patient use - afterwards to kill off the tuberculosis virus . This place even had tennis courts that patient's probably utilized even in cold weather to play tennis - to get the cold winter air into their lungs ,or in summer to get fresh air into their lungs - to possibly help the patient's diagnosis of tuberculosis - breathe better. I hope that someday that hospital will be torn down .
I like how kids actually think they are bad ass when they make Nazi signs, but the plot twist, most of them are backwards (like the one at 6:04) which is actually a Buddhist sign.
+Elijah cx That was the whole purpose. The reason the Nazis used the swastika was because Hitler's regime was supposed to conquer the world and achieve a 1,000 year peace.
I go to places like that a lot, at night especially, and i love the underground areas, once i got locked in cause a tunnel crashed, i always bring a flashlight, radio, torch and gun tho :p
TyillestTV2 I have the gun in case some drugged guy or homeless dude tries attacking me, you never know and if I get trapped somewhere, in a hole or such, I can shoot out and make notice of myself, a .357 is pretty loud
I enjoy watching your video's and the fact you spend most of your time exploring around abandoned places. Wow josh, what a great place to explore! Great colors and textures, and the video was killer. Keep it up Josh. Too bad I could not make it out to the meet up last month.
Enjoyed watching this. I take photographs in abandoned buildings and always wear a mouth and nose mask - I'd really recommend you doing that as these types of buildings very often have asbestos in them which you obviously don't want to be breathing in. Stay safe!
That room at 2:38 is a dark room where they develop xrays, those slots on the wall, you would open the door from one side, slide your film in and close the door, then a light would turn on above it letting you know film was there, you could then open your side and start the developing process, the tubs in front of you usually had finisher in them to prevent the picture from developing any further and distorting the film, back when film had to be done by hand, it was an art form, unlike today's digital images

So Josh, I've obviously been watching a lot of your videos lately, and as a composer I've been very inspired by your adventures, and is currently writing a piece of music about lost and abandoned places that would be SO cool to hear in one of your videos. It's a very dark, slow piece of piano/industrial music and I think it would fit perfectly for the next dark/creepy video you are planning on making. I would of course give you the rights to use it commercially so that you can monetize the video if you want to. Obviously you haven't heard the soundtrack yet, but let me know if you think it's a cool idea!
I saw your comment on funforlouis' video and I never usually check out peoples channel that way however I did for this and I've subscribed! I think I also saw you in one of your friends vlogs who commented on louis' channel

I just started watching this channel and I love it!! It's not like those tv shows were they try to find "ghost" half of those r fake anyway. But I love how he just likes exploring it's awesome keep up the good work!!! Love ur channel!!
Its just terrifying to think how many people have died in this building and all the families that were simply sitting in those rooms, worrying and thinking about their dying family member.
This is across the street from my house which you can see in the beginning as the they run across the lawn. Sadly the town wants to take it down . So much history and stuff. If you come to chicago, go to the cook county hospital!! It was closed in 2000 i think or 2001 and its still there! It still looks good on the outside, not sure about the inside, because im to scary to go inside. haha! you guys are brave lol

Saw you on ali a's video bro, I actually never clicked on anyone who said check out there channel before but you made your comment unique and the things you do seem cool man deffo subbed to you now all the way from the UK keep up these videos :)
If I were you, I'd put on a surgical mask the moment I stepped into that place. Leaded paint, mold, and asbestos are all common in old buildings like that one.
thank you for this comment yah new videos will bee out next week no more reuploads are needed this one needed to be brighter ! it wasdark in my last one
Exploring With Josh I really like the fact that with over 2 millions subs you still interact with fans. Also I really like your videos and the way you edit them, I've basically binge watched all of them. The fact that you don't vandalize places is great because I like doing stuff like this too and I don't like going into a forgotten place and seeing it messed up because of vandals.

Great to see the old photos at the end. It really gives an idea of how old and abandoned it is.

this should be like a tv show or something on Nat geo or some channel like that
Well it is illegal
+michael / hosericotaconachocasadilamandillajones You can get permits that allow you to explore places like these to promote awareness and interest
+michael / hosericotaconachocasadilamandillajones They are abandoned, it is not and even it is, it's stupid for it to be illegal. they are abandoned buildings, they don't do anything they don't vandalize or destroy anything.
This kind of stuff is so interesting but I really hope you guys stay safe!
thanks Im always safe! haha
Even though it's a reupload, watching it for a second time still sends shivers down my back...
Hahaha oh nice thats what i like to hear

John C You're such a bitter child.

The best thing about all of these series are the grafitti on the walls some of them are just hillarious
More like the worst that people are rude enough to ruin and disrespect old places like this
Ambers Prancingponies
well that also but you got to admit some of them are pretty funny
+Amber C.L.G Some of them actually warn other explorers about dangerous areas though.
He will say how nice the fireplaces are and then there will be a penis on the window next to it
I really love to see the art they make , and always find funny when they find nice / inspirational quotes and then just rude stuff xD
I'm surprised they haven't found any dead bodies yet.
Ikr!! I mean it's has to have happened
They probably have but just cut it out the video
+haylee gibbs no one would cut that out of their video, that would bring in so much views..
yes
+Courtney Young well it's disrespectful to the person deceased and their family so I think it would be a bad idea to keep it in the video
This building was in the town over to where I live, literally 15 minutes away. It’s been demolished now and it’s gone. But it’s cool to see there’s a video to capture what it was before it got demolished.
+1 for the Resident Evil 3 music
***** not really....the music was kind of soft
I reconize the Resident Evil music from anywhere!! My mom beat the entire game 2 in one day.
Taylor Meitzler when?
chewynickerson it was a long time ago, I was probably like 7 or 8 idk.
Taylor Meitzler i see; the game series was/is awesome, until you get to part 5, operation raccoon city and part 6... lmao
I love the RE safe room music, nice touch.
yesss
It breaks my heart to see all the graffiti....
I somewhat aggreee i do like it but only the good ones lol the rest are shiity and shouldnt be there
This channel is going to really help me out when I'm old enough to travel. I love exploring abandoned places, and these places are perfect. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Really wish people wouldn't tag everything up like that.
Same

there is an abandoned orphanage in Sherman,tx that is supposedly haunted. you can Google it, it's huge, and freaky looking.
Its not an orphanage, its a Woodmen of the World Home. It had a joyful past, but as it fell into disrepair people abused it. Its not legal to go there now, you have to have permission. I believe the room with the black walls was a dark room for photo development, they'd develop the images of the x-rays in there.
yah I think your right to
Nice eighties hair. Old TBC hospitals like these are a creepy remnant of that terrible disease.
They don't cremate the bodies in those things. They just store them until the autopsy then send them to the funeral home... Hospitals don't do cremation.
5:55 gave me chills but it also made me sad in a way
Resident Evil video game background music .... Clever :)
Obviously you haven't heard the soundtrack yet, but let me know if you think it's a cool idea!
Let me hear it and ill see what video ill be able to throw the song into . Ill use it. I thank you for watching my videos!
Exploring With Josh Cool Josh - I'll send it to you as soon as it's finished!
Marc Jungermann ok i got a video i can use it for
The place where they cremated is actually where they stored dead bodies guys. Its the morgue.
Love the resident evil soundtrack playing throughout ...nostalgia meter went through the rough.
I saw your comment on funforlouis' video and I never usually check out peoples channel that way however I did for this and I've subscribed! I think I also saw you in one of your friends vlogs who commented on louis' channel

Josh, you use such chill, vibing music in your videos. There moody setting.
If I were you, I'd put on a surgical mask the moment I stepped into that place. Leaded paint, mold, and asbestos are all common in old buildings like that one.
Watching all your vids from start to this point well done Josh, well done. Totally crushin on you now.
Spray paint: Man's worst invention.
***** for real!
I like the music that you add to your videos. Your excitement when you talk about the things you find is also cool.
Major respect simply for the use of resident evil music

it's almost a calming state to see others Tags in areas undiscovered before.. weird to explain but it makes sense

I really like the fact that with over 2 millions subs you still interact with fans. Also I really like your videos and the way you edit them, I've basically binge watched all of them. The fact that you don't vandalize places is great because I like doing stuff like this too and I don't like going into a forgotten place and seeing it messed up because of vandals.
