I'm disabled, though without a caretaker, I can't imagine even making my partner care for me.. It's unbelievably selfish to go "well since I can't take care of my kid forever, my other kid is now her slave". OPs mom made the choice to have both kids, OP didn't choose to be born with a disabled sister.
Yeah it's the parentification that gets me. I mean, I can understand the mom being concerned about her disabled daughter's future, but completely disregarding the other daughter's wants and needs in the process is wrong. She's not a spouse, she's her own person who needs to go out and live her life.

As a grown adult, I once put plastic in the oven. I was cooking something in a Casserole dish and it called for tinfoil. I didn't have any, so my genius idea was to use the lid it came with. The difference is I know I was a dumbass. It was in my own oven and it didn't cause much damage. It was only in there for a few minutes when I smelt it. We all have brainfarts, she should of owned up to it and apologized had helped with repairs.

100%. Brain farts happen. It’s her not even just doubling down, but tripling down that makes her an untrustworthy person. It’s also mind-boggling that she didn’t even turn the oven off, that OP had to do it when he got home. All together, she did everything wrong, and then got defensive about it.
I can honestly say as a woman my worst oven pizza mishap was whenever I (who usually cook at home and I'm not used to cooking frozen pizzas in the oven) forgot to take out the cardboard insert underneath of the pizza, baked it, took it out of the oven, then realized I should have taken off the cardboard, Pizza still tasted fine and nothing caught on fire so, I don't even know if it's really a mishap LOL.
Post 1 - I've known several families like that, where if you had a drink or a snack or something they expected you to bring some for everyone like a kid being expected to "bring some for the whole class." The minute the brother turned 18 he moved out of the house and then several states away so that he could have a life of his own. Even my friend agrees that it wasn't fair of his mom to expect his brother to just step in and be a full-time caretaker for the rest of his life. I don't know what they're going to do when his mom isn't able to care for him. They also don't trust non-family, private nurses or any kind of facility to step in and help. It's really very sad. Post 3 - NTA. It sounds like the pregnant lady is really insecure and felt like she was being upstaged. Or she's having issues not being one of the "thin" friends right now. She needs to get over it. As far as I know, wearing white to an event IS only a wedding thing. MAYBE a bridal shower? But definitely not a baby shower thing! Post 4 - Girlfriend is a dumbass and the AH in this story. Solution to not wanting to use the pizza stone is the oven rack covered with foil, so that sauce and stuff don't drip off.

You know how you have a conversation about what to do about someone's care in the future? You ask them what they want to do in the future. My mom and I had a very difficult conversation where we sat down and discussed what to do when she gets to the age of needing to be in a home or cared for. I was honest and explained that I could not take care of her. She accepted that. So even though it's hopefully not for a long time. She has things lined up for when she gets to that point. She respects my input and needs.

Shower dress code has always confused me. I'm a tomboy and wore nice pants and a polo shirt to my sister's bridal shower. All her friends wore sun dresses and gave me dirty looks when I arrived. But I didn't have any girly clothes to wear and figured I could just be myself. Apparently not.

Story 4: Microwave pizza isn't that bad, it's something I did appreciate having back when I didn't have an oven but of course normal pizza from the oven is much nicer. I nearly caused an accident on my own oven (left the hob on and didn't realise, left cardboard pizza sleeve on top) and felt awful for it, I felt like I couldn't trust myself around my oven anymore. If I had done that to someone else's oven I'd be apologising profusely and doing everything I can to cover the costs of any damage done!
I can't imagine calling frozen pizza you put in the oven instead of the microwave fancy though? Would microwave pizza be like one of those mini circle pizzas? Cause the only pizza I thought of was Totinos Party Pizzas but i don't think they are microwaveable.

OP in the original post mentioned getting them freshly made from an Italian restaurant and he used a pizza stone, so I'd certainly have considered those pizzas fancy. I bet they tasted amazing when the oven wasn't choking on plastic fumes. XD I live in the UK so I've never had Totinos, if you want then look up "Chicago Town frozen deep dish pizza" that's the type of microwave pizza I've grown up with. But pizza sub rolls are also often microwavable here too.

It’s easy to make little changes to them to make different dishes/flavors to keep them interesting. 🥹 I make really nice scrambles (where you add other things to the eggs) and omelettes, too 😄

Story 3: apologize once Clair can come up with a valid reason as to why you should have known not to wear white to an event that’s not wedding-related and had no dress code. The reason you don’t wear white to a wedding is because you’re trying to upstage the bride and make people think *you* are the bride, so unless Clair can explain how this situation is similar she can suck it up and apologize to OP.
In story 5, if it was the OP's responsibility to bring that hell-child on vacation, maybe that kids parents should have been at least a little bit more responsible for raising that entitled brat properly. That kid is going to grow up to only ever be invited to birthdays that the entire class gets invited to, and no one will ever play with her when she's there. She'll end up seeing one of the birthday kid's presents and trowing a tantrum trying to make them give it to her, and then everyone will start purposely excluding her from every single event after that. That kid is not going to grow up right and have a horrible adulthood afterwards if her parents keep raising her like that and keep thinking she's actually behaving perfectly well (and probably also telling her that too).
For the baby shower post, I definitely wouldn't consider OP in the wrong but I do think there was some information that needs to be confirmed. It could be pregnancy hormones or maybe it's a culture specific thing, cause white is actually considered bad luck for my cultural background

To be fair, that actually sounds kind of reasonable, as long as they can afford it. There are a lot of stories of one spouse spending on a hobby or interest, and the other spouse getting upset. In my family, if we know we'll be visiting someone after getting soda or fast food, we will take them their preferred soda and food from the restaurant, just so we're not being rude by eating or drinking in front of others, but that's where it ends. Story 4: I have seen some people burn cereal, char a pot while boiling water, put metal utensils/receptacles/cookware into the microwave (happens WAY more than you'd think) and expect a cutting boards not specifically mentioned to be OVEN SAFE to not burn in the oven. Solution to not wanting to use the pizza stone is the oven rack covered with foil, so that sauce and stuff don't drip off.

Story 4: Microwave pizza isn't that bad, it's something I did appreciate having back when I didn't have an oven but of course normal pizza from the oven is much nicer. I nearly caused an accident on my own oven (left the hob on and didn't realise, left cardboard pizza sleeve on top) and felt awful for it, I felt like I couldn't trust myself around my oven anymore. If I had done that to someone else's oven I'd be apologising profusely and doing everything I can to cover the costs of any damage done!

OP in the original post mentioned getting them freshly made from an Italian restaurant and he used a pizza stone, so I'd certainly have considered those pizzas fancy. I live in the UK so I've never had Totinos, if you want then look up "Chicago Town frozen deep dish pizza" that's the type of microwave pizza I've grown up with. But pizza sub rolls are also often microwavable here too.

In story 5, if it was the OP's responsibility to bring that hell-child on vacation, maybe that kids parents should have been at least a little bit more responsible for raising that entitled brat properly. That kid is going to grow up to only ever be invited to birthdays that the entire class gets invited to, and no one will ever play with her when she's there. She'll end up seeing one of the birthday kid's presents and trowing a tantrum trying to make them give it to her, and then everyone will start purposely excluding her from every single event after that. That kid is not going to grow up right and have a horrible adulthood afterwards if her parents keep raising her like that and keep thinking she's actually behaving perfectly well (and probably also telling her that too).

I heard a lot of bad stories about people who just can't cook. Stuff like putting the pizza in the oven with the plastic still on or something like that and if that would be the only issue, I'd say OP should forgive her and maybe show her how to bake pizza properly next time (although that sounds pretty ridiculous as I'm writing this). Post 1: That's not family tradition: it's some kind of weird form of financial control abuse. Also, the inlaws are still involved in this weird thing even after they got married? So, does it keep growing and growing as the family grows, and one day, you're 40, and you're buying 15 meals for people because you went out to lunch with your girlfriends, plus 30 sodas because you had two in one day, plus 15 week-long trips to the beach with dinners and entertainment?
