Sunrise was written by Hongjoong during his trainee days, I think it was when he was the only trainee under their label (not sure about that part) but the fact that this was written while he was still in the starting journey of pursuing his dreams speaks volumes and is much more inspiring. I love that this particular song has helped hundreds of people including me. It's always my number one most meaningful song from them. This whole album speaks of hope and pushing through obstacles and I am loving it. The best full-length album I've ever listened to.
I just realized that in "Thank U", Hongjoong only sings in the first few seconds of the song and then gives the other members the rest so that he can admire everyone and especially spend time with Seonghwa everytime they sing this live or during concerts. I'm literally tearing up omg 😭😭😭
there's a reason why this is Ateez's only full album so far, it's just a materpiece, every single song in that album, the mixing, the production, the recurring themes of the lyrics, everything is just perfection.
Sunrise got me through such a hard time I had so I’m very emotionally attached to it, Ateez has such a way of conveying this type of hope and empathy in their music.❤
the way hongjoong wrote "sunrise" predebut when he was still the first n only trainee under kq and has said that the lyrics were what he wanted to tell his past self the most 🥺 i really cant imagine training so hard with no one going through the same process as you but im so glad he felt less lonely after yunho joined six months later 🥹 he wasnt alone anymore 💕 and "thank U" will always have such a special place in my heart the korean title is 친구 and as you know it means "friends" usually used by people of the same age and since seonghwa is hongjoong's only "friend" in ateez being the other half of the '98 liners it warms my heart. and the way hongjoong wrote his verse with seonghwa in his mind and the whole song being dedicated to their little family i love them so much.
Thank you for your emotions, it brings me comfort and joy. Another reason for me to love Ateez is that in their songs they don't follow fashion musical trends, cuz they always leave a spoiler for a future comeback, like in Answer for Sector 1 to release it 2 years later. Also I love that there is always a story and sincere emotions behind their songs, especially those written by Hongjoong like Thank you, Sunrise, Aurora. Sunrise about when Hongjoong was the only trainee in the company for half a year until Yunho joined him, there is a moment in the choreo where only the two dance. With Aurora, Hongjoong compared the ocean of lights he saw at their concert. I hope they continue to go their own way.

I honestly cam relate. At first I thought I was the problem but, looking at my life, my friends have their own lives and our interests change. I'm from South Africa and kpop isn't really a thing here. So when I try to connect with people. My interests are belittled or made fun of. So I just stay at home in my spare time

What you mention about not having like that small friend group during Thank U, I completely relate to it. I had a group of friends that I even met at the ateez concert and I’m no longer friends with them (long story I won’t get into) and my bff just recently loved to Texas. I haven’t really made any college friends either. I totally understand the feeling of not having that friend group and honestly it’s really nice to know that I’m not alone. ❤
i always say this but ateez have an eerie talent for, if you listen 2 their albums after the release when u need to find it or when it's released, making songs that speak exactly to n THROUGH you. 2019 was one of the...if not the most difficult times of my life mentally, and so getting around 2 hearing sunrise it's safe to say i was NOT MF READY. ateez never cease 2 be mutable but consistent with their artistry. very much in this pirate shit 4 life

This has definitely been my most played album by Ateez it holds so many memories for me! I found Ateez back in Feb 2019 through say my name and I have so much love and respect for them. ❤️ the album was so good and sunrise is definitely my fav song because of the lyrics and mist because of the vocals! all to action is definitely my absolute favourite ateez album. the intro and outro are beautifuuuul. i'm obsessed with the humming and the piano in precious overture, which isn't present in the full version. and this album literally holds like 3 of my favourite songs from them ever. it's just such a masterpiece!!

I was watching the first part of this album review while getting ready to go shopping for whatever the hell I'm going to wear to the Atlanta concerts. And even though I couldn't just sit and watch, I enjoyed your enjoyment of it so much that I listened to the second part (this one) while I was driving to go shopping. I don't think I've ever done that before. If I'm in my car, I'm listening to my music, not reviews or reactions! I'm actually sitting in a parking lot right now writing this post before I've even gone in, lol. I've been a bit emotional today already (for good reasons), but was definitely more emotional listening to you talk about Ateez and what they mean to you. And when Sunrise started playing, there's me driving down the road crying, smiling and singing, and just feeling their message so strongly. After it was over, there was silence from you, and I actually glanced down at my phone and said, "Are you okay?" And that's when you said you were trying not to sob. And, giiiiirrrllll, I felt and understood that completely. And I just want to hug you for loving Ateez the way you do and because I know how they can speak right to your heart and am happy that they do that for you. Ateez loves spoiling songs. about how far ahead: they spoiled the intro of Sector 1 back in January 2020 at the end of the Answer MV... they hadn't even started the Fever series yet (then again, chronologically speaking the order of events is Fever -> Treasure -> the World). it's also how Mingi was on the Fever pt 2 though he was on hiatus. It was already recorded way before that. and they most likely have already finished recording pretty much all the the World albums 🤣
