I love how you commented "Then it met my dad" sort of speaks volumes of how rightly proud of his work you are.

The wonderful wizard at work again! It was a long road to re-restore this Isetta. The car had been butchered by a bodger, but in the end it was turned into a great little car. It looked fantastic and drove beautifully. The owner finally got the Isetta he'd dreamed of.

I assume you had to make all patch panels? I assume patch / replacement metal isn't made to fix? I do understand what you did, as I been in & around body work & repair for over 30 years. would love to have one of these cars, but doubt I would ever be able to afford.
Once upon a time I woked for a restoration shop, specializing in muscle cars, owner bought "nice" examples, then would take them the final way to correct issues to make them 100%, he then sold incorrect or imperfect parts on e-bay to increase his profits, but was a great experience to work at that level. great video, & I will be exploring your channel

Hi Randy, many thanks for your comments. You're right, the patch panels had to be fabricated by us as nothing was available. The Isetta club in the U.K. does have replacement front wing panels but we fabricate our own. Glad that you liked the video and our work, if you've been in the game for 30 years that's a great complement! Hopefully you'll Subscribe to see more! Best regards, Karl.

I have worked at great outfitted sheet metal working tool body shops, & inadequate, always loved fabricating, currently only working part time for small shop, inadequate tooling, but doing all metal work & welding, when I am needed. no real fab to me, light fab, in my opinion, but I really do understand what is needed & how to do, & I am somewhat burned out, never got a shop, always worked for other people, barely make ends meet, I only joined you-tube to talk to other welders, & 95% that's what I do, I do love several mini vehicles, always have, but never owned one, growing up, there was a huge amount of mini-trucks made by Suzuki with 2 cycles in them, & I hung around the repair shop until the horsepower bug hit, later looked & shop closed, I assume owner either passed, or retired from old age, but I really would like 2-3 of these mini vehicles, just cant see anyway at present, but I am working towards getting a welding business going, but if I can get a building, I could do some of this kind of work, or more depending on metal working tools I buy / build.

How many hours did it take?

Not quite sure to be honest, but a lot 😅 It was done on and off over the course of a couple of years 😮
