Ayoo happy bday 😎. Bro watching you made me train harder and more. I don’t rlly plan to, but I’m trying to come to such a level that I could play professional. Seeing your videos made me realize that it is hard but easier than you may think. You just gotta have the dedication and patience. I mean it’s just everything that helps that u do: individual training videos, lifestyle tips, analyzing the games ( even tho I play 10, and you play on the backs but idc ). Just wanted to say thank you sm for making me believe in myself and good luck to you in the future man!
Yep he is right ! I didn’t get into a d1 school till after 4 years after graduating high school…….. what made it easier was everyone else that stopped trying or that didn’t think they were good enough.
Also being 23 and playing against 19 year olds helps. No disrespect, I know the struggle of not seeing results from training as far as making teams or moving up, but high school to D1 is a small jump compared to D1 to pro football.
@@kylemiller5671 honestly any high level training! Because not everyone wants to be a pro regardless of what they say. So spots always open up somewhere
I love how I haven’t watched a video from you in a minute and I seen your kitchen and just remember when I watched your videos years ago and you were in a small flat in Germany I think it was. Crazy how far you’ve come bro💯 keep up the grind 🔝👍
Yeah I meant to say that the kitchen he has now reminded me of the small kitchen he had back in the day, how he’s come so far and has a way nicer one now 😂
What I'd like to connect this with is when Tim Grover says "Don't think" in Relentless. Yeah you risk a lot of things but if you think, you'll start considering alternatives more. Just grind. No thoughts. Be sensible of course, but grind. Matt faced all those filters and here he is. Through all of them. Simply because there was no questioning his goal of playing pro. So it's a day to day grind, every single year. Great insightful video Matt!
Very relatable the talk you've given Matt. I've survived the first filter and gonna be faced with the second filter in two years time. Live with no regret boys!
Hey Matt, I like the way u say that “u get hit by life” cuz it’s 100% true. Life hits and it goes after what we love the most sometimes. We continue tho !! Love this vid Matt .. well done mate !!
That’s a fabulous job you are doing. Informative to the younger soccer player to learn from your experience. Keep the grind going Man U will come hopefully one day. But as you said keep going through those filters 🏃♂️
Great reminder for me Matt, thank you! I've been in the Army the last 5 years... "filtered" myself out at 18 because I was from a small town with no scouts or club teams. Now I'm about to leave the Army and haven't given up. Trying for any level of soccer that will take me. I plan to grind it out until my body can't go anymore. I'm 24 and still constantly improving, thank God. We'll see if I've made a team in the next few months!
Haven't seen a video of yours in a while and decided to click this one. Very high quality content and very much enjoyed how you broke down the "filter" system, which I 100% agree on. Was refreshing to see that concept explained in a very digestible manner. Keep it up brother
@@warrenmorgan304 nah it’s cuz some people think having a lot of eggs is bad my parents think that so when they fine out I had four eggs they get so mad😂
By the time you get to filter #3 at 26+ the chances of signing a pro contract I think is actually less than before. The clubs are looking for experienced players who played for actual pro clubs. If 2 players are on trial and the one with pro experience shows less than the one with no pro experience, there is still more chance for the experienced one to sign it because of his past. There are a lot of pro players who’s contracts are expiring at the end of every season, they will always have more chance to sign than a 26years old who only has a semi pro/amateur past.
I am parenting a U-10 player who has the pro dream. Honestly making sure that the love of the game isn't killed by any filter is my goal. Making sure he knows, he is in control of the choice to play or not play. And who knows where he ends up. Is he the best player on the field? No. Does he take it far more seriously than anyone else out there. Yes. Is that a path to fast burn out? Who knows.
Sometimes I do wonder about the odds of making it pro, because he's I understand they're might be 10 million people trying to make it pro in England for example, but of those 10 million people, how many are actively trying to go pro and not just hoping it comes their way, and of those people who are actively trying to go pro, are they doing all the training I'm doing or are they going to or the trials I'm going to or are they playing at a higher level than I am? And I think once you filter it down you actually realise you're only really up against the 10 to 100 thousand who are going all in for it and if you realise that, I think that it makes what people call the impossible dream possible 🤷🏿♂️
@@matthias_ajc keep going if you can bro, i also sometimes think about being not good enough, but we need some time to develop and if we do have time to wait and develop, better keep trying than regretting.

On the "You must survive" talk: I'm 22 y.o., been playing football for like 15 years now. I even quit football for 2 years because of losing my passion, thanks to the club I was playing for. It's been 3 years since my comeback, and almost 2 years since I've given myself the 'impossible' task, to become a pro footballer. I'm playing in the "sunday league" right now (used to play higher as a youngster, but the same reason as why I stopped playing for 2 years occured when I was like 14-15), but I know, and everyone else is telling me that I definitely can play on a higher level. The question is, how high can I get. So anyway, I'm planning to go to tryouts in Germany (since I'm european) next year, and hopefully I'll perform well and get some semi-pro contract, and reach the checkpoint of my (hopefully) succesfull journey. Can't even express how much Matt has taught me over the time I've been watching him, mainly drills, and especially excersises for preventing injuries, they are the golden bricks for me. Wishing everyone who keeps their dream alive best of luck, and keep grinding, hope dies last!
