You’re amazing!!
Legend! Thank you do much❤
You fully right…! I had the same ,I was crazy, I fixed like you…thanks
This was VERY HELPFUL & I BELIEVE the resolve to my problem. That is why my rear view back camera has a wet line in & is now turned upside down because of the water in it coming from that slit!! You are a GENIUS!! Thank you❤
Hello cherry. Thanks for watching the video. I’m glad it was helpful. Hopefully you’re a subscriber. I do appreciate your comment.
to fix this the right way... replace the 3rd brake light gasket then that edge panel you mentioned is removable and behind it are 6 plastic push pins with circle gaskets that you can replace. you're welcome.
Hi player Mick appreciate your comment. That’s a little more in-depth that I wanted to get into but I appreciate your tip. It is very helpful. Thanks for watching.
Good stuff.
My LS400 Boot Leak is driving me nuts, so I'll take your microscopic 'unlikely' source investigation approach.
I think I will Seal EVERY outside joint or crevice.
Take care, from the UK.

Hello, thanks for your comment. Please let me know if you were able to stop the leak.

The plastic trim under the rear window warps at its ends and when you close the lid it lifts the trim's middle fixings out of its holes funneling water in.
At £500 PLUS! I simply removed it and silver taped over them.
Job done.
It's a widespread problem, so pass the solution on.
Still a great car.

Thank you Sir!! I am grateful for this video.
Hello and thank you for your comment. I haven’t had another leak since I fixed it. I hope it works for you.
Also if you look there is a drain behind the trunk mechanism.. so the water that gets in can flow and come out from under the licence plate and on the rear bumper. And this drain gets clogged. i recently fixed mine. I removed the carper got into the trunk and had a friend pouring water with the hose.. water came in from the gap and leaked from the clips into the trunk..i took a wire and a small screwdriver and i removed a lot of dirt etc from the drain.. now the water flows and not a single drop goes into the trunk.. but i will also do the same thing you did to prevent the water from getting in..
That is some good detective work. It seems like the water has to go up to get into the seem and enter the trunk!
Seam
Definitely doing this tomorrow, you are the man!
I have the same problem, does it worked for you ?
@PrototypePower yes. This actually works. Do 2 layers. Once, then let it dry then do the second layer
Thank you THANK YOU so much for this video. So helpful. 😀
Hello Ursula, thank you for your comment. It took me a while to figure out how the water was getting into the trunk. I thought it would share it. Thanks for watching.
I am having the same leak issue. I am going to try this out and see how it goes. I already replaced the two side channels and new plastic rubber fasteners and that is dry but I have that same corner on the trunk lid leaking water.
How’d it go?
Any answer?
Hello Jose. How did it go with the trunk lid leak? Did you try and seal it with that caulking?
Jose it’s been two months we are worried…please if you need help just say it no shame!
I've been having water on my boot/trunk latch and its all mouldy on the mat. Thanks for video not sure my ford fiesta has that seal above the registration plate but mines definitely leaking on that plastic panel above the latch. Im going to get some black sealant on it as ive done my rear window seals before as it leaked there before and i fixed that issue.
Hello, water leaks so hard to find. I wish you luck finding it. I appreciate your comment.

Hello, thanks for watching. I picked up a small tube of silicon seal at Lowe’s. I retrace all the seams in the trunk and sealed them up and that did the trick for me. Let me know if that works for you.
Same problem here with w211. Driving me nuts.
