      it varies from company to company. some companies can't handle the freedom they give their employees. while others just want the employees to do the work.

    Interesting share. I think it'll vary depending on your line of work, but in my case what's really benefitted me is the results I deliver are most important. Simply put, people can see how busy I am just looking at my calendar and the volume of work I'm doing, in turn this obviously benefits income generated again showing positive results. Add to this that I make a concerted effort for customers, who then leave great feedback, and it's inevitable that all of the results I get from my work speak volumes in helping me stand out

      yeah i hear you. i just prefer quick update on what im working on and let me work. if you as my boss hold a 2h meeting you should realize i then only have 6h max to work. and in reality more like 4h. because there is time to refocus. also i would appreciate if boss realizes i live in an apartment and don't have a private home office like my boss. what i found from experience is bosses who love to micromanage the work they want to get done by someone else love to chill but love checking up on you. my boss could have useless hangout meetings with upper management bosses. but i rarely saw him working on reports, etc.

    One of my companies went completely remote in 2020 and it was amazing how for some it was a way to stand out to me and for other employees, I could tell they weren’t able to stay focused. Like the video says, people who made an effort to connect with me got more face time in a remote environment than in a regular one.

    • @asadb1990
      @asadb1990 3 года назад +1

      so you are one of those bosses who only notices those that "make effort to talk to you". what about noticing the work that is getting done and judging people on that. and realize that many people still want to work their job 8h and end work. now i don't mean to slack off but i also don't want to take on more work because i can get my work done quicker. i want to maintain status quo. also i despise managers who pawn out their work load to their underlings so that they can go out to client lunches.

    • @wordeeone4996
      @wordeeone4996 3 года назад

      Phantom Warrior do you feel that client lunches have no value to the business? Do you despise managers in general or are these things specific to your current situation?

    • @asadb1990
      @asadb1990 3 года назад +1

      @@wordeeone4996 oh i believe they have value. but bosses shouldn't overload their underlings with all their work because they were busy with such lunches. now if the boss invited me to such lunches, i would be more willing to help him. otherwise i have plenty on my plate as it is to pickup the slack of my boss.

    • @wordeeone4996
      @wordeeone4996 3 года назад

      Phantom Warrior so what you’re saying is that you desire to be the boss and this is resentment speaking? Because, your going to the lunch doesn’t actually change anything other than you will also be at the lunch. The bosses job doesn’t change. Those working under the boss still ha late to do the work assigned to them, etc etc.

    • @asadb1990
      @asadb1990 3 года назад

      @@wordeeone4996 well i feel i have my work to do. and my boss has their work to go. now if the boss chooses to participate in activities outside the office, i shouldn't have to be overloaded with their work. the lunch is immaterial.
      im more of the person who will do the work he is assigned and stay within the confines of the 40h week. if there is more work come up, it will only get done during that time. I'm not one of those who will put in 100h to make sure work gets done.

  • @asadb1990
    @asadb1990 3 года назад +11

    i just want to do my work and do whatever afterwards. these tips are great if you want to be a simp. also i want employers to know meetings are part of the 8h day. don't expect that work will get done when i have been in meetings all day.
    if i have to show im valuable, im worthless in the eyes of my bosses. my value should be the work i submit.
    this advice is if you want to be a trained pet not even a boss's pet.

      I was thinking similar things watching this. I want to treat work as work but the reality is if you want to do well and get those promotions, advance your career, etc, you have to play the game and focus on visibility and politics over good work. It sucks but I'm learning its the reality of the corporate world.
