Arise, children of the Internet, Fire of Learning upload has arrived!
Synchronicity - this was downloaded on January 21st 2020 - the anniversary of Louis XVI execution.
I have written the same comment and then saw somebody else was faster :)
@Majestic Satire thank you for the correction
I wonder if the master of this channel did that on purpose?
It was uploaded, not downloaded lol. They are opposites.
So did they kill an innocent king in Louis XVI?
I’ve always found incredible that almost every major European conflict before WW2 was basically a family dispute
It’s the way it should be
Since 1812, all wars were for Wall St. or Greed St. especially from 1914 through Afghanistan and continuing.
@@familykaplan1341Umm no not accurate at all
@@British-monarchist. Absolutely accurate. WWI and WWII were caused by Jewish bankers and media moguls, inspired by a Germany which broke free from their illegitimate debt stranglehold. Read about the Balfour declaration (celebrated in Israel every November 2nd, as it dragged the US into the war thus inflicting defeat on Germany), the American Jewish-controlled press rapidly favoring US entry into the war, and those bankers responsible for collecting war reparations from Germany after the Versailles Treaty. We and Britain should have joined the Axis to fight the Judeobolsheviks who subverted and supplanted the Russian monarchy.
@@familykaplan1341 Who the heck told you that?
I love how Fire of Learning makes these documentaries full of information, but also has small, occasional elements of humor written into these videos so that the viewer is entertained and amused. 100/10 Fire of Learning
Can’t believe Germany pt. 2 was demonetized. You make really great educational biased, sad to see RUclips treat you unfairly.
Thank you.
biased or unbiased?
@@Fireoflearning I can't imagine why YT demonetised you. Did they at least explain why?
@@eduardoribeiro383 They've deleted/demonitized most videos covering Adolf H. or the wars in general. RUclips doesn't like history that doesn't fit their agenda. It's a sad truth.
@@manosassassin They demonetized his video, but OverSimplified's videos on Hitler still remain? That's kinda disappointing.
Thanks for putting out the overwhelming kind of documentary that challenges the notion that RUclips (and streaming in general) can only be a waste of time. You have been able, once again, to create a great study that obviously demanded a lot of your time and effort. Thank you very much.
Haha, what are the odds? :D

These videos are great - I'm glad to see so many uploads lately! Definitely considering to be a Patreon supporter
I have watched many history videos for fun, many of them were on fire of learning. This one would be one of my ten favorites, would watch again.
Thank you! It's quite a feat to cover such a sweep of history in such a short time! It gives a really good overview.
Thank you for creating and uploading these absolutely AH-MAZING documentaries!!!!!! The sheer amount of time to just research this information has to be staggering! This is my second time watching through your 2 History of France videos, and I will probably watch them again! Thank you so much for such incredible dedication to creating absolutely perfect videos!!!
On my second viewing as well, this channel is phenomenal! 👑
Your videos need to be on trending someday! I came here after being on trending page but switched to home and forgot I did that and thought this video was on there, but I feel like it’s deserving!

Thank you, I enjoyed this a lot!
My favourite channel on youtube, thanks for another great video
I love this series, it has both Charlemagne and Napoleon III in it , my two favourite historical figures.
Ramiro Menescardi Napoleon III? That’s an odd one. Care to explain?
@@theliberator5126 By looking at the poster's name, I think he's probably italian, and Napoleon III helped the italian to achieve unification during the 2nd italian war of independance. Most of the fighting was done by the French, that's why many streets and avenue in France are called Solferino, Magenta, or Garibaldi. Contrary to what many believe, Napoleon wasn't hot grabage, he did a very good job in Italy and Crimea, but a poor one in Mexico (although nearly every battles were french victories) and Prussia. He was moderate garbage I guess. Still an interesting character in a often overlooked periode of time, usually summarized by memes as faiilure in Mexico / Franco-Prussian war.
Martel Ah, thank you very much. That makes sense.
@@TheSergentChaotix He was not really bad in the Mexican campaign, the main reason he pulled out was that the clock had ran out and the Confederates were almost dealt with by the US, meaning they could very well have intervened in favour of the pro republic faction.
Napoléon III was also the one who modernised France along his minister, making sure that we got an industry to rival the english who had quite the advance on that field, and renovating if not all-out rebuilding most important cities, especially Paris, who's iconic buildings and avenues are from the period.
Get messed up by the German Empire bro
8:45 saw a small mistake here: the Spanish Netherlands included Wallonia and Flanders (and some other stuff but details), which isn't shown on the map.
Holly molly what a great one, and in many aspects. Awesome work sir to say the least. Cheers!

Especially the European countries even though I would like to know more on the Baltic regions. From Hungary to Bulgaria. Plus 27% of my genetics are European.
I'm Pole and I'm interested in the history of Africa too. Especially from pre-colonial era and the cold war.
Love all these documentaries they feed my hunger for wanting to learn about history
There are very few documentaries on the history of France before Louis XIV. There are 1000s on the French Revolution and after, but very few of earlier times. Thanks for sharing your research! It's the first complete timeline of France and the region I've seen.
Love these insights
Thank you for all you efforts.
I love your history of countries documentaries! Could you make a video about the history of Japan? (particularly after first European contact) Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Are you gonna do a docu on Quebec/French Canadian?
Simon Dubois awww yesss. he liked the comment
Ofc you couldn't do a doc on that without the Acadiens!
@Jacob Duffy yes, but I know I would LOVE a whole documentary about French Canada, not just a brief section in the greater Canadian history (which is also good, but I have a hard time finding much specifically about New France/Quebec as it's own thing. At least in English language history books, as I can find them in the US)

Great video! :) A history on Austria would also be cool
It would be nice to have a documentary on Indo-French relations.
Since limited sources are available on this topic, a documentary on it would be a significant contribution.

You mean Indians of Inda or native americans ?
@@orpheonkatakrosmortarchoft4332 India.
@@SU9690 If I recall my classes correctly. France came last to the party in India but made itself a good spot there, mostly in the east and north east like Bengal by a very effective Policy of allying with local leaders. However the courts was never really interested in India and the French Indian Company had little support unlike their British counterpart and after the defeat in the 7 years war France completly lost any interests in the region, keeping only Pondichéry while the UK adopted their old Policy of alliance with local leaders.
Great video, very insightful
it's crazy how youtube blocks some videos, history really repeats itself
Memories of highschool when you talk about the Duke of Guise and Catherine of Medicis, characters depicted by Madame de Lafayette in her novel La Princesse de Montpensier (which has a good film adaptation, maybe not english dubbed though idk)
You are amazing. Always thanks
One of the books I am planning on writing which is mainly historical fiction focuses a lot on France especially on some of the Revolution and Huguenots although different very different time periods for sure. This video helped me very much indeed!
Really like this history channel, l've learned much
The sounds effect of those little fun facts displayed remind me of the Uncharted series!
I’ve always wanted to learn about the 29 years, 11 month and one day war
As a French Canadian from Montreal, there are some words that you said that stood out to my fully bilingual (fr/en) ears. I have to know where you learned to pronounce these...
Verdun: in English, -dun is pronounced like "dung" but without the g. In French, -dun is like the French word for the number one, un.
Iroquois: the -ois of -quois is pronounced like the French word for king, "roi", or the French word for goose, "oie". You are the first person I've ever heard pronounce it differently. It may be that the Anglo population (and parts of Ontario at the very least, and any other place with a lot of Francophones) of Eastern Canada have accepted the French pronunciation of it as the correct one, and I don't know how far West/South it goes.
I'm happy to help if there are other French words you aren't sure about :)
Terrific work 👏 👍 ...you can learn a lot about yourself, by studying history 🙋♂️
great video!
I find it ridiculous that you have to leave things out of an EDUCATIONAL video just so youtube does not demonetize and subsequently censor your video. You should be able to cover whatever historical video you want without having to potentially face retaliation from the youtube overlords. I am really getting tired of youtube deciding what is and isn't acceptable for people to view, especially when most of it is completely harmless.
0:06 quick notice, in France we say "La mère Patrie" which is in English "the Motherland". The Fatherland is more for Germany.
Edit : oh no apparently we got it all wrong fellas. Or our motherland has a peepee.
but patrie itself is fatherland, so by saying "La mère Patrie" the french literally say "the mother fatherland"
@@volcanares9620 ok and so what ? Huh, maybe our fatherland identifies itself as a womanland I'm sorry which year is it ?
@@cebonvieuxjack No, the expression "la mère patrie" (the motherland) is not common in France, historically it was only in use in Québec. "La patrie" is far more common which translates to "the fatherland".
It's entirely correct to translate it as fatherland, though.

Although not the real French Revolution when I watched “Les Misérables” it made me think that the June Rebellion was the one I had heard about many times but then discovered that the first one was truly much darker indeed.
Victor Hugo was indeed one of France’s greatest authors for sure! 🇫🇷🇫🇷.
Much darker, you could say it became satanic.

Luis the 14th is also the longest reign King of all recorded history. Around 72 years. Okay obviously he became king at 4 and he was a King until he died at 76, but still this is amazing. The other people that reigned 70 years came to the throne at age 18. Officialy he became the King, meaning he would act alone when he was around 14 so still 62 years is damn long.
Fun Fact: Napoleon actually invited the Pope to attend his coronation as emperor. To make sure everybody knew it wasn't a Charlemagne style circular power division, as emperors have power of the Pope, but the Pope also has power over emperors, Napoleon placed the crown on his head.
