Jack Carter was a family friend. When I was about 12 or so, he would come over to the house for Sunday brunch with his adorable wife. He was always so nice to me. For some reason, he called me 'jump center'. Never got it. He would sit at the end of the dining room table and more often than not, would seem to go into a trance and pantomime things. One time he became a cat and proceeded to groom himself by licking his 'paws' and stroking himself. He was so funny. I also adored his wife, Joan.
