I’m a mostly qp player and recently there’s been a matchmaking bug where someone leaves the match and it ends up being a 4v5 the rest of the game no backfills. I should read the patch notes myself but I didn’t see anything addressing that in this vid
I'm super casual on this game so I thought the Orisa fall off damage removal wouldn't be a super huge buff, but seeing it side by side... dear god

what’s funny is they did this before where they gave Orisa a longer threshold until falloff, and she became too oppressive, so they reverted it, now they’re coming back and removing falloff all together. Who knows maybe it won’t be as scary as it looks

Idk why blizzard REMOVED her damage falloff-giving her an extra five meters made her broken, who on earth thought to remove it entirely??
I like that they removed her falloff damage because i play her (lol) but to be fair it would be cool for everyone if they kept the falloff but reduced her damage.
It's very weird that Orisa doesn't have damage falloff but Ashe and Cassidy are useless after you reach a certain distance.

BUTTT, Orisa is literally a brawl tank, she mustn't be able to kill literally a sniper, leave this to the dive ones.
She already has two abilities to negate damage and close distance, why blizzard?
Not to mention she can easily beat a POKE TANK LIKE SIGMA, because his shot literally have a fixed distance.
They probably made this because of her lower pick rate now, but obviously is lower, people who are getting stomped by the other tank simply switch to Mauga.

Cuz they always use Orisa as a failsafe when a tank is too strong.

@@Xohslolhe's trying to say rein has hard counters. I'll add a few to the list. Orisa, mauga, roadhog, DVA, reaper (depends).
Roadhog can basically hook rein to cause his charge to get no value, and has a high sustain + close range damage output. If you don't have a good ana to made him you're screwed as rein.
DVA, not a direct counter, but super annoying. A smarter DVA will simply fly away from the rein and attack his backline, and even if he charges back to protect them, the DVA probably can fly back to safety already. Also, his fire strikes will get 0 value for the entire game.
Reaper, depends on the supports but I feel if the support pocket him enough, he can basically tank and spank a rein. A lot of times the reaper just walks in my face and shoots me. He does 300 damage per shot. I do 85. He has a wraith ability to get out. Rein could charge, but if he's that low he's probably dead anyways.
Anyways this is just my opinion, I don't know if I'm in "low elo". Right now I'm dia2 and I ONLY play rein, and it's living hell right now.

I dont think blizzard understand that the game isnt fun when orisa is meta.
They literally copied their S2 formula when they gigabuffed Orisa as a means to end the Hog meta that was occurring because suzu made him busted. They ended up creating a bigger monster than the one they had before.
Suzu does the same thing to Mauga so we find ourselves in a similar predicament. If only they had actually learned from their mistakes the first time…

Ppl leave too much qp as they don’t like map or gets rolled or worst, just before the loosing screen. And game doesn’t make u backfill 2 games in a row cause u would only do that.

@@CircuitVPanther I legit never leave games unless for some reason I DC, but I played a few days ago and legit in 4 hours of playtime I got barely any progress for weeklies done because about half my games ended due to everyone just leaving. So I had 0 say. Often it happens within 1-2 min because people are AFK. You are legit just saying words without any purpose

Yeah for some reason they really want her to be god tier...it sucks so much that low skill ceiling heroes like her are constantly allowed to get so much value for low input while true high skill ceiling heroes like doom, tracer genji have to mash buttons in the right moment like crazy only to still be feeding...
And they even nerfed Sigma a few patches back. He had his barrier recharge rate reduced from 100 per second to just 85 per second.

i personally love my choice between mauga and orisa, 2 extremely safe tanks who deal a fuckload of damage from 8 miles away, needing to take 0 risks. very cool, i'm sure the other roles will enjoy this as much as i am going to.

Can they nerf the Orisa Spear wind-up time? It's almost instant and is really hard to play around and not get stunned out of your abilities. It does almost the same thing as Sigma's rock but with no delay in throwing it
And the hitbox is VERY forgiving
Spear also does a boat load of damage and applies a slow effect so you're almost guaranteed to get a kill, and now fusion driver doesn't have falloff so Orisa is straight up a sniper.
Please, can they for once just give Rein, or Doom, or Ball, or Dva some love once in a while instead of just the same uninteresting unkillable spam tanks.

Lifeweaver's petal platform now block Hanzo's Dragon strikes arrow. As far as I know it's the first thing to be able to block it without eating it.

@@bardozan it's not a bug. it *blocks* piercing projectiles, it doesn't destroy them. It acts like you hit a wall, and dragonstrike functions the same when hitting one.

One of the more questionable patches ive seen. Lifeweaver is already pretty hard to kill, but he needed a bit more i guess.
The thing that makes Soujurn so hard to balance is her rail, and now she has more uptime on it. She will always be the top500 player character.
And the orisa falloff is absolutely crazy
It doesn't feel that long ago that Orisa had so much damage reduction like a season or two ago with a supports on her she would never die... now its orisa meta again but sniper edition🤦♂️😂
The Orisa and Sojourn Buffs were to counter Mauga, but with his nerfs, they didn’t need to do that
Genji has had a bug since season 7 where if you change skin while on the pre match select a hero screen, the skin won't actually change until either the next round or the next game altogether

At this point, I'm convinced blizzard is eigther planning a rework, or they just straight up forgot wrecking ball exist. Like there's no way orisa and sojourn get massive buffs like that, and ball gets nothing.
While there are some indirect buffs with this patch, they said Ball may be on his way to get a rework. How big that's gonna be is yet to be seen
as the other guy said, i’m pretty sure they’ve stated that ball will be getting a rework in a few seasons.
@Das_Ungeheuer I believe the devs said new abilities are on the table. Might have mentioned internal testing of some changes has already happened, but I don't quite trust my memory on that bit.
This Orisa change makes no sense. Like its actually a crazy buff with no downsides. Don't get me wrong Orisa hasn't been good even before Mauga. (I say this as a GM2 tank player) But giving her this huge range with no other changes seems kinda insane. Also Sojourn buffs make no sense at all.

5:06 I've seen this with like a cass that just doesn't walk at all, but does effect the ramattra t-pose? we can't lose that, that's a staple of overwatch
On sombra it seems more consistent to hack ult start-ups and .. I've denied d.va's re-mech just as it's being called down a few times which I don't normally seem to get.
Honestly, I expected harsher Mauga nerfs. I like the cooldown increase on Cardiac Overdrive, but I think instead of removing infinite ammo during his ult he should've just had an overall increase in ult charge cost. I also expected harsher armor and overhealth nerfs. I'm glad Orisa actually seems like she's shaping up to be a decent counter to him now that they've removed his ability to crit her while she's fortified. I still think the Mauga/Bastion combo is going to be quite strong, especially at lower ranks, but these are a good starting point to bring him in line so that he doesn't go from OP to literally unplayable.

their main way to nerf mauga was not to actually nerf his damage or his sustain (by much), but it was to buff another tank to counter him. they literally are designing orisa to be the anti tank. youre FORCED to play orisa into mauga now.

He wasn't 'too strong', he was fundamentally & objectively broken. Personally I am still disgusted that he cancels charge-like abilities on bigger characters than himself. In no world should his charge beat out an Orisa fortify or a Rein charge.

Seeing an Ana/Illari meta this season. Kiriko's cleanse will be nice, but if you wanna deal with Orisa, you're gonna need some well timed sleeps and nades.
I feel like it's probably an Ana/Kiriko meta...again. The problem with those two characters is that their utility is just too necessary in the current meta. You need anti-heals because there's so much healing in the game right now, and you need Suzu to counter the anti-healing that is in the game because there's so much healing in the game right now.
I personally would rather see anti-healing get reworked into a system like overhealth, where you get a flat value of anti-healing that decays over a period of time. The more healing you pump into an anti'd target, the quicker they recover from anti-health... and the more flexible you make it as a mecanic... it also means that you can counter anti with more than just Suzu.
Remember the 1 tip series is been out awhile now I think he be good canidate to be next unless he just quit doing it

@@joeschipper2593 good point. I ironically played doom and realized you can’t use 2/3 abilities inside of it. You can just block more damage lol. Niche situation but he kinda disables everything when you are inside. Maybe a radius reduction of the actual ring, make it a smaller zone.. require it to be used with purpose rather than just charge and hit all 5 bc it’s 20ft wide haha
The idea of “cage fight” makes me think it should really just hold mauga + 1/2 enemies. It ain’t a Royale rumble

So we went from orisa meta > mauga meta > back to orisa meta, great. It's always been obvious but this patch highlights blizzard's horrible balance even more.
Orisa and mauga, the 2 most unfun and boring tanks to go against. Keep being meta, meanwhile rein is sitting in the corner being powercrept by almost every tanks.

I legitimately want Blizzard to just rework anti-healing already. The way it is right now essentially demands you have a Suzu for it just because of how much healing and damage is in the game, and it doesn't seem like they're looking to change that any time soon.
Imagine if Anti-health was like overhealth, a set of purple pips on your health bar. Let's say ana's grenade gives you 500 anti-health (just to name a number) that decays rapidly over 3 seconds. Every point of healing the target takes removes a point of anti-health rather than healing the target until the target has no more anti-health left. This means that the more healing the target receives during the anti-effect, the quicker the target recovers from anti-healing. This just makes the whole mechanic more interactable and gives the developers more wiggle-room to balance in.
You'd also be able to give more characters sources of anti-health without stepping on Ana's toes. Imagine if Winston's lightning gun stacked 20% of the damage he deals with his lightning gun as anti-health, making him harder to heal through without actually making him kill you faster.
