I own a 2011 c30 t5... 230 000 km.... I've been driving it so hard on a daily basis... and it's extremelly reliable.. only the shitty roads in canada are hard on the wheel bearings/suspension/direction... also the breaks could be better... but that engine and the quality of the ride is very very very great

I like the way the shocks are attached on this car. My daughter and I are replacing shocks and shock mounts on her 09 S60 and the metal sleeves the bolts thread into on the shock mounts twisted loose from the mount when removing it. Had to spend an hour trying to get vice grips in to hold the sleeves to finish removing the bolts so I could remove the old shock mounts. It was a great demonstration that things don't always go as expected, and sometimes you have to just be creative, and be persistent when dealing with old equipment or cars. You'll like how easy it is to replace the front end components on that car. Volvo did a good job making it super easy to work on the front suspension.

That is a trip complete across the whole state. One time we fly down and couldn’t land because of a 35 knot cross wind so we fly back to Clemson and had dinner instead. Love flying but had to give it up for health reasons. I enjoy you channel.

cheapest "stock" upgrade is putting focus st front rotors and calipers on and a mazda mps or mazda speed in America sway bar. makes the car a completely different thing to drive. balanced chassis gets rid of that hideous understeer volvo thought was safe. Contact Rob at Hilton performance for a great value tune and removal of torque limiter for the auto.

Change the TCV on your C30, I did mine and it made a world of difference, the car has so much Power now. Also on the C30/S40/C70/V50 they are on top of the turbo and overheat over time causing the solenoid to stick. Also the stock one from FCP Euro is good enough, don't use the IPD version.

I remember back in1982 when I was taking flying lessons and flying to so many places to eat. It was a lot of fun and we were in a 152 most of the time back then. See about going for a ride in a bi-plane with a good aerobatic pilot, you will love it if you can handle it. My instructor was also the aerobatic instructor and took me up in a couple aerobatic planes on my 3rd flight after he jokingly said to do an aleron roll in my 2nd flight so I did before he had a chance to grab the wheel. The 152 we were in didn’t have an inverted oil system so back to the airport we went smoking. Thank god we didn’t catch on fire from the spilled oil. Anyway there are so mst thx

Yes! You always do a run up after you have shut down. Read the checklist. After you are accelerating down the runway in attempt to takeoff especially at a soft field or short field you do not want to try to diagnose why you’re not getting full power. Technology will give you great insights but you have to do the tests to identify any problems prior to taking off.

Huh, why not uprate the suspension? You'd see a much greater improvement going from stock base to a decent aftermarket. The performance version of the C30 has some minor suspension tweaks a quicker steering ratio and logos and body kit tweaks. A stiffer rear bar from a mazdaspeed 3 for instance would dial out some understeer. A flash and a larger intercooler and you can safely get another 30-50 hp. But I guess this is a fix and flip. Don't mind me and my scope creep.

Easier than on my Volvos, an 850R and V70R, Wagon life of the massive rear end lol. Easier than the engine/transmission swaps and refresh of a 93 Jag XJS I bought and the 86 Firebird it came with in the trade. Swapped out the AJ6 Inline 6 for a GM 4.8l + turbo + 4l80e, that was actually fairly easy, putting the AJ6 into the Firebird took a bit of creativity but it runs like a dream after a refresh. The XJS is going to be used for cross country road trips (well, from Missouri to either coast, half way cross country) and I wanted an engine I could get parts for at any small parts store if something were to happen and something tells me not many small parts stores have Jag parts on the shelves. I'm turbocharging the AJ6 since I already have an independent ECU running it and don't want to buy an original supercharger used on them for a fortune when I have spare parts to turbo for cheap.

John sorry to break it to you but Ford owned volvo till 2010 I believe, if you look on top of the front strut towers you’ll see the same FoMoCo.

Good for a quick repair and flip - desire level is 0 for these with an automatic transmission.

Need to replace my swaybar end links to.. i have S40N with the same end links. Any tips/hints for my replacement? I have the OEM volvo links.. really expensive plastic parts. Yours does not look OEM though. The OEM is plastic and has a more green color to them. 50Nm to torque the M10's down. Need to replace the shocks too some day.. really easy job. But to replace the springs it require spring compressors.. and is a little more fiddly but not hard to do. Just be sure to put the springs in the right positions and also replace all the rubber seats..

That's all I paid for my S40t5....and it needed (gas cap tether) NOTHING. Not yet installed, but here's what's coming.: Eibach pro-kit lowering, paint correction(clay bar, polish and wax), new tires, beefier front/rear sway bar, control arms and end links, wheel spacers ,larger brake kit upgrade, and window tint. Done.

A long-time subscriber here.. I hate to be the one to complain but I can't stand the new camera LOL. The wider angle was much better but that's just my two cents.

I always teach my students to be complete, so I would suggest to do a run up again. If there is an accident, what are you going to say to the NTSB? I didn't want to take 20 seconds and do a run up?

The Garmin stack and the EDM 930 are spoiling you. The engine sounded good. Not sure about the little Volvo. Seen one the other day in Texarkana.
