THE best heist movie ever made. Nothing beats Mr Noel Coward strutting down to his lavatory, supported by Rule Britannia. "Hang on lads, I got a great idea.... uh.... uh....."
Kinkywizz you are so right Michael Caine was the best - love the mini's lol so great, what an awful end all that money sliding back and forth, eeekk lol - just gotta love that movie
Would you Adam n Eve it. It's Michael bladdy Caine innit. Epitome of Englishness. Films at their best. In the days when it meant something. "Get Carter" was also one of his best. Britt Ekland? Oh, My Goodnight.!
Don't think Michael Caine was in that. Completely different genre. "Life of Brian" was better. But I am working on making my own "shrubbery"............!
has Michael Caine ever played a character apart from Michael Caine? he's the same in every film he's made, it's Michael Caine, not a lot of people know that.
Noel: "We have a chance to rip those bankers good this time. Don't muck this one up, Charles, this is the big one. If you do, you will wind up back here, and we will have to do this whole thing over again." Charlie (Michael Caine): "Yes, I know sir. I am going to have my best men on it... We will do our utmost to place a dent into Western Civilization... You know we will, ... sir...?" Noel: (Looking at him for a moment, momentarily surprised) "Very well then; be off. And don't spend too much of my money on libertine propensities; get the job done." Charlie: "Riggghht..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One can picture Noel Coward at the end, taking bows, waving his hands bashfully: "You did it sir; we all very proud of you..." "Congratulations, it was a great job...." "We are all with you, sir... a magnificent achievement." Noel then looking up....: "Well thank you, thank you very much.."
It's about as far away as JFK as you can get mate - Plates of meat, Peckham Rye, Hurry up Mate, How's your father, Jump in the Jam Jar - Classic JFK rhetoric !!
Dolly Dimple At least in the Get Carter remake they attempted to stay as close to Roy Budds(R.I.P.) music as possible. British humor that is actually funny to an American; now too work on the food lol.
I honestly would want to see that happen in real life because that movie, although from 1969 is a bloody brilliant film and I want it to be EXACTLY copied but using modern CGI and resolution.
norm7446 Funny, I owned two BMWs, they're wonderful driving cars until they aren't. Then they REALLY AREN'T. Got an original Cooper S a few years back and have been wondering ever since how a little front wheel drive could be more fun than the "ultimate driving experience". Both share the trait of being horrible to work on though.
Clearly didn't understand the film and tried to use it to justify your own prejudices. The film was a heist film that they wanted to make it unmistakably British and a Britain of the 1960's. It wasn't meant to be pro or anti-patriotism. And Michael Cane is a man known for being patriotic, served in the Korea war and still supports national service, so hardly the best man to cast in an anti-patriotic film.
Loved this film great British classic.
Watched this movie so many times, never tire of it, music and the mini coopers,

did this come from somewhere or did you create this dialogue?
Doors
Sounds like a bunch of John F. Kennedy stereotypes gathered up and started singing
What??
jay kay Burn the dingle! ;)
the actors and michael kane did the singing themselves, because it was a low budget movie,
so to save on the cost.
It's about as far away as JFK as you can get mate - Plates of meat, Peckham Rye, Hurry up Mate, How's your father, Jump in the Jam Jar - Classic JFK rhetoric !!
You haven't seen the remake of Get Carter then.....;-)

The only people that buy a Mini 1. Are those who want a BMW but cant afford to by one. Ha, Hah , Ha, Ha...

Dude, Twilight got positive reviews, too. Doesn't mean it's actually a good movie.
LOL at all the patriots who dont get that this film is making fun of patriotism
Anti-Patriotic stuff tends to bring it out of people.
No way 200 posters of the Queen in a prison cell is meant seriously... :D
