During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu”, this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back - even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.

If you find yourself in a warsituation or a terroristattack makes sure that you either are lying on the ground or above something like a refrigurator because most are shooting at you from the waist level.

"He just refuses to die" this film is just fun, brutal and full of craziness and it's worth every second.

The director said its designed to be over the top. It's not designed to be realistic. Think Quentin Tarantino.

It's like complaining that the "WW2" German tanks in a lot of old movies were actually M60s. Sometimes, you gotta use what the budget, and availability allows. Even the Tigers in Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers were T-34 tank chassis made up to look like Tigers, which is why the turrets were in front instead of centered on said chassis.

There were massive stores of German weapons and ammunition left over as the war ended. They just weren't in the places where they were needed. There were also tens of thousands of well armed and equipped German troops stuck in foreign garrisons while the high command drafted kids and old men into the final battle of Berlin. Wartime logistics are a curious thing.

The fact they had to use a T-54 instead of literally any other tank makes it worse. plenty of short, boxy tanks in real life.

@@lukaskisovec7356 its literally impossible to get a working german tank in a movie, they are all in museums were they should stay, however when there are still 1,000's of operational t-54s left its easier to use one of them.

i just had the director of this movie at my house for a coffee and had no idea who he was lol They were looking for props for a new movie based in the 14th century - Should've asked some questions about the movie, but hopefully they come around again. Seemed like a super chill dude

it was actually pretty common to pick up equipment of the enemy. Weird thing is, this looks like it is in north africa, which doesnt makes sense, since germans did not fight russians there.

Realistische Kriegsfilme (aus Hollywood) , in denen die Deutschen nicht als Idioten dargestellt werden, habe ich noch nicht gesehen, überhaupt tut sich das Ausland mit realistischen Kriegsfilmen, über den WW2, schwer, weshalb ich mir schon lange keine mehr anschaue.

Finland and Germany were allies for most of the war. Finland only very reluctantly declared war on Germany in order to make peace with the Soviets. They didn't fight each other very hard. More likely to be Soviets committing such acts in Finland, but hey whatever right?

the Finns were formidable fighters. They were truly feared by Russian and German troops.
I've known a few Finns and they are tough and cold. Wouldn't want to have one for an enemy.
Operational WW2 German tanks are few and far between.
