Instead of digging around in that.hole. un screw the 2 Phillips screws behind the wheel on the bottom and pop that trim piece off. Then you can easily access the spring arms holding the bag in place.
I’ve gotten to the Main bolt that holds the steering wheel, but that thing must’ve had Locktite or something done to it. I’ve used impact driver and a large socket and can’t get that bolt to move. Any tips?
Yes I believe so the wheels haven’t changed from those years however if there is a feature present like ACC and your Laredo doesn’t have it I’m not sure of the functionality. I would say swap same for same wheel or swap the internals of the wheels because the controls can be separate from the wheel itself. Good luck!
@@AtlasWilder I did it a couple days ago. It was like the compass. A nut on. The steering wheel. It also had a cover to remove at the bottom, that exposed the little metal clip, so I could really get a good push on it and the bag came off pretty easy. Still had to do a proxy alignment after I changed the unit.
Can you pop just the emblem off or will it trigger the airbag? Got rear ended a couple weeks ago- totalled our jeep 😢 I wanna keep the emblem as a keepsake before she goes to the junkyard!
I got a quick question I unplugged the battery but somehow I still have power around the whole car the interior lights are on radio comes on is there something else I need to unplug?
I want to make same swap but with a custom carbon SRT steering wheel. It will fit, but it is better to buy also the SRT cover for airbag. As I know you can use your Summit cover but will be a gap. The airbag itself is the same so you can swap it.
Soooooooo I have v8 overland supercharge but these cars are getting stolen so much that i want to take my steering wheel off when i exit the car and pop it on when it return so you have any advice on looking for someone does that kind of work

Great video. Is this the same procedure on a cherokee kl? It looks similar. I'm trying to see what it takes to replace the wiper switch.
I’m not entirely sure couldn’t be too much different

Hi,did you use a steering wheel puller or anything, video didnt show that bit,or is a wiggle and pulls off?
Once the main nut is off the center it’s pretty easy to pull off just tap it hard with hands

Strange. You did the battery under the car seat right?? Make sure someone didn’t wire an auxiliary one of the car is used
Same problem
He disconnected the IBS not the battery
could the plain sport steering wheel for a cherokee be upgraded to a wheel with at least volume controls?
Yes except you might need Alpha OBD to program the change
Bro I cannot get either of those screws off lol I tried with the socket wrench, adjustable and small drill.
Which ones?
What did you torque down the new steering wheel to?
I don’t recall
I have a Grand Cherokee Summit. Do you know if an SRT steering wheel will fit my car if I want to replace my existing one?
Yes it will fit
