-- ABOUT ME --
My name is Eunice and I am a junior doctor working in New Zealand.
I create videos about how I navigate through a busy HUSTLE life, looking for my purpose amongst the mundane "dailys".
I am documenting this journey to remind myself (& my Asian parents lol) that it is possible to pursue your passions, even when you have a demanding job and scarce free time.
I hope you'll find this content helpful for yall out there feeling burnt out and stuck in the rat race too!
Thanks for taking your time to read this blurb, love your support xoxoxo
Have a great day!

@@eunjinthlo dear.
I'm from India and I want to study in new Zealand or Australia.which one will u recommend me?
Hi, I'm from India and I found this very useful. Thank you.
Wow thank you Mr Wei from India.
do u understand
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
Yayyyy THANK YOU for leaving your kind comment !
Very useful! Im planning on going to veterinary school but i figure the process might be a bit similar, I've been struggling to find any info.
Now I ' m a medical student in Belarus.. I' m in 2 nd year.. Can I change my university to newzealnd .. And also shuld I start in 1 st year?
Hi!! Thanks so much for telling us all this info, I'm from the US and i'm thinking about studying and moving to NZ. Right now I am in a community college but in high school I was homeschooled.. do you if that may raise any issues?? After i finish at this community college i plan to study 2 more years to work in a medical lab from a college registered in the international association of universites like you had mentioned, do you think that would even it out? 😅
Hello! If your community college AND the secondary school degree are recognised by the list of high schools as mentioned, then there's no problem! Good luck :)
Hii just wanted to ask that the. 1year course you talked about in both the universities. Is it done in the university itself???😅😅
Yes it is! It’s provided by the universities themselves
Hi Eunice! I am an international student that is trying to apply at UoA. I just wanted to know what would a good rank score be that can help me to get into uni form high school?
Hey there eunice! This video was very helpful, thanks. I actually wanted to ask if I could apply for medicine in nz after my pre-med courses in highschool. I'm currently studying BS English can I apply for med after my 1st year at uni?
Hello! Thank you for your lovely comment, I'm glad it helped. I'm afraid you have to do pre-medicine in new Zealand after your high school back at home. All international students have to do premedicine in new Zealand before they can apply for med school! Premedicine in your home country wont be recognised here, sorry!
@eunjint I'm glad you replied to my comment🙂 can you please guide me more about how I can do pre-medicine in new Zealand? It'll really help alot since I'll be applying this year.
@@areeshqurat9829 of course! I have a whole playlist that is dedicated to premed, it’s called “MED RESOURCES”. Have a look on my channel!
@eunjint Thank you so much you're an angel😁
Hey Eunice! Is it too early to apply to study at UOA for the following year's semester 1 intake? International applicant here!
Can I get help on what could help me pass Health sciences first year and accomplish the needed score? Thanks a lot for this video I didn’t know any of this❤
Of course, thanks for watching this video!!! I have had a whole playlist dedicated to this for med sch, check it out ruclips.net/p/PLf9dQmyxpiE00r1WOE1d3DH0gh-Hqas-f&si=j9HeBSPnvlJtApkN
I have question: what if I’m international student but study high school in New Zealand, what should I do? (Sorry, for my bad language )
Yes! You’ll do health science first year like everyone else (local students) 😚
Hello I am from Indonesia currently study in UNITEC Mt. Albert
Hello! Nice to meet you :)
Is UKCAT-ANZ compulsory for graduate entry or not in Auckland University or you can get admitted on basis of your undergraduate degree?
Hey there! This was quite informative.. but I'm confused about this particular thing ; if as an international student I complete first year of bhsc / bsc and ultimately get selected for the course , it would be total of 6 years or 7?
Hiya! I’m glad that it was helpful 😁 So pre-medicine is 1 year + 5 years of med school = 6 years in total
Hey do we have to write ucat during the hsfy?
Hi can you talk about postgraduated courses and how to apply, thank you too much!!!
Hello, that’s a good idea haha I’ll add that to my long list of video ideas 🤣
Hi I just want to know whether mcat’s compulsory or can we apply directly after highshool, thanks
Hi! If you want to do medicine, it’s compulsory to do health science first year no matter if you’re international or local. We don’t call it MCAT in New Zealand it’s just health science first year, and yes it’s compulsory for med school application
Hii so I saw many UNIS offering a trimester where first intake is the Feb intake n second is the July intake (applications close during may)and last intake is November so I wanted to know which intake for uni for ppl usually go for?
hello! In new zealand, since there is only one intake for medicine - in February, i would be applying for feb intake.
Hey there! Thank you for sharing all this. It was really helpful. Though, can you give me an estimate of the average marks/grades one needs to get into any of those?(average marks/percentages accepted)
Hello! I assume you're talking about scores from first year uni to get into medical school. Check out this short. The numbers are very similar across otago and Auckland uni. ruclips.net/user/shortsGkMFsgEyIxI?feature=share
Do international students apply via the HSFY entry to Otago need to sit the UCAT test ? I’m seeing mixed answers online. Thanks 🙏🏻
The answer is yes! International students are NOT exempted from UCAT.
Hi, thank you for the useful information. I am from Syria, I am a high school student next year. I will graduate from high school. My question is: Is there a preparatory year to study English before entering university and are there scholarships for international students?
Hi there! There’s no preparation year for English. They judge that your English is good enough for university using the English test results 😁 Also, yes there are scholarships but not many for international students
hellon how are you? is med school hard in new zealand? is it more difficult than other countries? And how long is the studying there to become a doctor? whats the easiest med school there? please respond whenever you can , have a good day.

Can you tell me if I can get job along with studying medical school? Is it possible for me to pay for my own tuition fees? Expecting a reply from you🥺. I have passed HSC which is like 12th grade in Bangladesh.
Hello! I’ve answered a question about working while studying down below but I think it’s hard to pay for all of your tuition fees while studying. I would say you could probably manage to work 16 hours a week at med school in the weekend? In the weeknights if you’re stretching it but even then If we’re thinking 100k a year for tuition - it’s hard. Junior doctors nowadays don’t even make 100k a year
I am a bsc nursing graduated till working in New Zealand as a nurse.is possible to become mbbs in NewZealand
Yes I know quite a few nurses who have studied to become doctors. You'll have to do the whole medical degree again though!
Hello , Didi namaste i am from india just complete my class 12 in medcal and got 95 percentage can i apply for otago university and which scholarship is best accordimg to you that will cut my tuition fee plz answer this when you are free ?
Sorry medical
Hey, are you planning to apply in otago?
Excuse me, is there an entrance exam for international students?
Hello! The “entrance exam” to get into medical school is the same for National and international students :)
You have to pass health science first year exams to get into med school. To get into health science first year is as the video instructions :)
@@eunjint thank you so much.
You're so kind 💖
how difficult can it be to make a 100k NZD for an international student out there?
(will appreciate an explained answer and not just "very much" 🙂)
Hey it’ll be very hard. Doctors in NZ in their first two years make around 60k a year after tax. Hopefully that should give you a good picture of the difficulty. A normal minimal wage for work like retail/hospitality is $22.7 per hour and say if you worked 20 hours a week during the academic year (40 weeks) then that’s only around 18k. Another 12 weeks of full time work during your school break is another 11k. Far from 100k a year. Hope that gives you something to work off!
You could try non traditional jobs like tutoring or medical freelance writing online which could generate potentially a better income depending on how skilled you become.
Do we have to pass the course work or just start the research?
This video is about medicine doctor, not PhD I'm sorry I can't answer that accurately!
Can I earn my living expenses and yearly fee of PhD? With managing my PhD?
Hi there 👋 thanks for your comment 😁 I haven't got a PhD so I'm not sure I can answer that. You can work part time doing medicine though but definitely not full time
How are the placement opportunities for international students?
Depends on what you mean by placement. 4th-6th year medical student year, you’re on placement in the hospital but not paid. For work after graduation, it’s harder to get a job compared to the local students. However typically if you apply to smaller hospitals, the chance of getting in is higher especially if you’ve had placement there and spoke to the admin/director in person :) hopefully that answers your question
@@eunjint Thank you!
Hi can you please send link for scholarships.

What about part time jobs?
Is it possible for medical students?
I definitely had friends who did part time jobs while studying medicine 😊 I personally only did summer jobs
I need your help
