Because for nz and Australian graduates it is by ace program. How is it for img? After completing pgy2 how to enter pgy3. Is it a different process? I think it is called vocational surgical training program. SET program for residency is for nz and aus graduates. Is it same for img? Thanks
hello! Thank you so much, im glad it saved you time. Yes for IMG, you're part of the normal recruitment which you just have to find the hospital's career's page to look for vacancy and apply traditionally. A better way to do this is visit the hospital in person, usually better to talk to the recruitment person or even the director of the hospital if you're lucky to see them. After pgy2, you apply through the hospital if you plan to stay in the same place. From there, it's the same training programme except you need to have Permanent residency before they will accept you onto the training programme. Hope that helps!

Are you a specialist yet? If not, I would suggest finishing specialising first. Or else you'll have to start as a PGY1 in new zealand. If you apply as a specialist, it's judged on a case by case basis. You'll have to contact the medical council with your qualifications and they will consider it with a panel of doctors to decide if you can practice in new zealand

As a final year student, I would advise finishing at least two years of PGY. Then try for NZREX. There are jobs opening always but not many. There are no scholarships I know of if you’re already a doctor, as you’re no longer a student when you apply
Hello, this is Dr Shubham. I want to apply for New zealand residency program based on USMLE exams(I passed step-1 and step-2).
Hi I am MBBS graduate Dr from India how can I get job in newzealand
can i move to newzeland as a international graduate but i have plab exam and GMC registratoin
Hello! I’m not 100% sure but use this tool it’ll tell you if you can! www.mcnz.org.nz/registration/getting-registered/tool/
what about those who have cleared the 3 USMLE step exams, do they need to take the NZREX exam too?

I’m currently studying in China and I’ll be done in about a year. I’m just looking to see what’s out there. 🙂
😂😂 Also this whole process has stressed me out, my stomach has reacted to the anxiety and I shall now take a nap.
Hi!! that's awesome, how is med school like in china? I hear it's very very stressful :o What places are you looking at besides new zealand? Aw man, I'm sorry this is so stressful! Honestly, you've already done so well by taking that first step to seeing whats out there. You're already ahead of your peers :)

Hi there, ty for the video. Umm at 8:08 , it has been shown that we need to complete 1 yr of pg experience before applying for NZREX clinical? I'm confused PG in what? Like in any subject?
PG is post graduate year meaning you need to work in your home country hospital as an intern
@@eunjint oh okay thank you. And after we give NZREX do we directly join in the MD/MS course or not? What is the process to join MD in New Zealand?
@@lalalanf2955 join MD? If you haven’t yet done a medical degree in your home country, you’ll need to do that. If you want to start fresh and get a medical degree in New Zealand you need to start from applying for medical school
@@eunjint ahh okay, so I thought that after we pass NZREX we get to work there and join MD after a few years.
Thank you for clarifying my confusion.
Hyy mam I'm from india currently studying in class 9 its dream for me to become doctor in new zealand so i wanna a ask what is particular age to come in new Zealand and begain mbbs study i hope you will help me❤
Hello! Any age is fine. In my opinion, the earlier the better. Most international students come to NZ for foundational year (1 year before premed). :)
Hello everyone,
I am from Nepal and have successfully completed my PLAB-1 and PLAB-2 exams, obtaining registration as a doctor in the UK. Despite applying for jobs from Nepal for over a year, I have not been able to secure a position. Consequently, I am considering applying to work in New Zealand. If anyone has information on how I can practice as a doctor in New Zealand with my UK registration, please share your insights.
Helloo im Indian but my med school is in russia can I still give the exam . Even if i crack step1 and step2
I think you can. Double check with this tool. www.mcnz.org.nz/registration/getting-registered/tool/
Which uni in Russia?
For VOC3 pathway, what are the odds of actually getting accepted? Is there any data on this or do you just pay the application fee, send all the proof and hope for the best?
I dont have any statistics sorry... I definitely have seen both sides of the stories. Ones are successful and ones that are not even after all the trouble with paperwork... Sorry :(
Hi, I did my MD/ MBBS from Ukraine and graduated recently. Can i get into Pgy1 without any previous internship/pgy1 experience from my home country
Generally they recommend that you have some work experience prior to applying to NZREX.
Hi there
Loved your video
Saved tons of times
I have few questions, hope you can answer
As an img how to apply for pgy1 and pgy2 in newzealand?
@@eunjint Thank you very much
Hey, I’m currently a 3rd year Postgraduate student in Indian, doing specialisation in Radiation Oncology.
Can you tell me my options on how to practice in NZ?
Are you a specialist yet? If not, I would suggest finishing specialising first. Or else you'll have to start as a PGY1 in new zealand. If you apply as a specialist, it's judged on a case by case basis. You'll have to contact the medical council with your qualifications and they will consider it with a panel of doctors to decide if you can practice in new zealand
Iam ready prof.of orthopaedics from a premier Govt medical institute Bangalore India Iam 73yrs.keeping good physique and health what are the chances of me getting a job in Newzealand.
I see! That means you're in the "specialist category", which is a case-by-case situation. Check out this self assessment tool and it should tell you what you need to do :) www.mcnz.org.nz/registration/getting-registered/tool/
The question is, there is no doc, what should be done when hemorrhoids can be treated, or do you need sick leave when it gets bad???

I think you should see your family doctor about your haemorrhoids…
what's the payscale like? and can a PGY1 student expect to get paid and does the pay increase every year as it does in the UK?
PGY1s are not students. They are doctors, hence they are paid likely any other doctor grades. Yes it increases every year until a certain point in years, it gets capped. where you're expected to step up e.g. to registrar or SMO etc.
Is there a video that talks bout jobscope ?

Is a US medical education typically considered comparable for the purpose of locums? How about specialist training?
I don’t think so, you’ll have to go through the same pathway for Locuming
For specialist training, I have heard lots of specialists from the US have no problem with becoming a NZ specialist. However, everything still needs to go through the medical council beforehand to be sure!
Thank you for this information
I would like to know if usmle is acceptable in New Zealand

Because I’m currently studying in china and when I finish I just have an MBBS degree and I’m not considered as a registered doctor.
