Yes in 1700 years we didn't think for ourselves didn't grow and change and cling onto a religion made by Jewish people that replaced Anahit, Ar, and the rest of our gods -....Think first
Araik Barouni And what about Anahit and Aramazd? They were pagan gods, and most likely originated in Greek mythology as Zeus and Artemis, that were taken from ancient Egyptian mythology (Amun) that was based on some other mythology... If you red me carefully you would understand what I meant: I wasn't even speaking about being Christian or anything else, I was saying it's good that we haven't changed our religion for over 1700 years. While our entire region has been forced to become Muslim in past 1000 years, we are the only ones who stayed Christian. After all the wars and massacres that we've seen, we are sill Christians, because we are strong, and that's what I'm proud of. So yes, think first!
Ethiopians did the same in Africa - and Armenians used to be known for being advanced enough to do away with gender roles. Paganism or monotheism it's still mythology - in what way is it good to stay the same while the rest of the world grows and changes - cultures that don't evolve disappear as in history
Araik Barouni Disappear? Our nation is a perfect example that you are wrong. We have been the same for very long (same religion, same behavior, same letters and same language) and we have been around for at least 3000+ years.
Araik Barouni From what you write here and in other treads as well I see that you are most likely non-Armenian who hates Armenians. Anyways, your comments will be deleted from now on. P.S. If your'e actually Armenian, I advise you to think why so many traditional Armenians here came to a conclusion that you don't like our people. May be you have "advanced" too far in European "values" and may be you should just stop calling yourself Armenian?
I'm born in the US and I'm proud to have Armenians in my life as friends and coworkers. Some of the good fortunes that I have in life are due to an Armenian friend or acquaintance.
So many haters, I know truly believe that people have lost interest in life and search up Armenian videos to comment hate-filled comments. Advice, get a life!
I'm proud to be Armenian because we care for our families, our world and give our best always… and are the oldest (with our Ethiopian brothers and sisters ) the oldest Christian nation…!! Viva the Fedaye…. long live Karabagh!
Maybe because we have been through so much, yet we have grown stronger through those persecutions? Maybe because we are one the most unique nations on earth? Maybe because we have done so much for the world? Maybe because we are among the world's oldest recorded nations? Maybe because we are among the world's most educated and productive people? Being proud is human character ;)
Kristapor Aintabtsi You didn't achieve anything to be proud of. You were born into Armenian with no choice of your own that's not something to be proud of. Go actually DO and achieve something so Armenia can be proud of you. It's like being proud of winning the lottery. You didn't do shit just got lucky. what pride is there in that - a fellow armenian
Because all those nations who stopped being proud have become extinct or becoming now. Think of people of Netherlands, France and other countries that have chosen the way of "being humans on the planet", "accepting everything". They are now being substituted in their own counties by middle-eastern people who are also proud for what they are, as far as I know. So to stop thinking about your nation as something special is the first step to the extinction!
The Romans were proud so many others that collapsed - think for a minute what you're proud of some guy drew a line on a map and said these are the people in control and now many generations later you're proud to be descendant of people who belong to one King than another genetically if you don't have blonde hair blue eyes you most likely aren't full blooded armenian - and people are so proud to be armenian and hate turks but it's corrupt police and businesses in Armenia screwing it's own people and the country is poor because of it. Which the Netherlands France are both prosperous and you will find any people from any region anywhere silly to say being open minded means being overrun
Not only am I proud of my Armenian heritage, but I love my ancestors including my grandparents and aunties and uncles who came here with absolutely nothing but their faith and endless capacity for love and commitment. They gave my sisters and me life, wonderful memories and a proud heritage.
I know I got through you. You were one tough egg to crack. But I know, I got through you. Listen bud, I'm not here to make you feel bad. I know its tough to accept it, I understand that. If I was raised my whole life to believe one thing and for someone to come and disprove it on RUclips would also tear my heart apart. I realize its difficult, but slowly as you start reading and getting into history, you'l understand that what ever I stated is the actual truth. All love.
I am proud to be Armenian because we are the most tolerant people in the world. We always respect and love our neighbours in spite of everything bad that they might do to us.
I'm proud and lucky to be Armenian because we're strong nation that endured so much and still alive. And to all those turkish/azeri here... Don't worry, the truth will triupmh, I promise. Don't deny. We have 1,5 milion reasons to not forget.
I'm an Armenian, and to be honest, most Armenians are not very humble and any chance they get to brag about how great our nation is, they take it. In my opinion, most of us need to realize that we aren't the only great country with amazing culture and cuisine.
