    Mike I want to thank you for recommending this book. I finally have it now and I already love it. But, it IS a bit confusing... for me, as a non-native speaker, it's a bit like studying the Bible: reading these wise words again and again, reinterpreting them and filling in the missing information :-) Your videos help a lot here . I would be very happy to see a video about section 2 also! Cheers

    I started following Mike on RUclips and FB about a week. Well why did I google what is Linear Gospel
    drumming and he comes up as one of the top video results. Well I know why: the algorithm of course. But the real question is why do all the Gospel drummers never seem to break down and demonstrate what linear Gospel chops drumming is, how to do it, and also recommend a resource book to go further. Excellent job MIke

    Mike, great stuff. You don't need to repeat yourself, and demonstrate the sticking at slow beats 5 times. You can just do it once. It's a video. We can replay a section if we don't get it.

      Cheers Larry. However 90% + of all "constructive feedback" messages I receive (and I receive a lot) are requests to slow down further in the videos. Impossible to go at a pace that'll be optimum for everyone, hope you can appreciate. Thanks for watching and glad if you dig, cheers man 🙏🏻

    So good man!!… can i ask, are you doing doubles at 1:50?… i mean are you taking one of those Gary’s patterns and doubling up each 16th note, or are all singles?… thx so much

    • @MikeBarnesDrums
      @MikeBarnesDrums  2 года назад +1

      Cheers Alex - all singles, that fill is mostly "RLRLKK" repeating.

    Are you just noodling with the patterns or are you consciously thinking of where to orchestrate it when playing it? Great vid
