Love your videos, you do an amazing job of balancing the nature, camping, adventure, exploring, 4wding stuff, and gear stuff. You do it so much more intelligently than almost all these other 4wding channels. The balance is perfect. Thank you so much for going to so much effort to make these.
Great video mate! One of my favourite campgrounds have camped there many times! Rarely gets many people which is perfect. Will be back soon to hike to the top of Halls Peak. Cheers mate🍻
@ yeah mate love the seclusion and wildness of that place it’s incredible and the river is pristine and full of bass! There’s an old unmarked trail to the top of halls peak starting near where the gate is at the top entry to your right. Cpl of viewpoints plus the main peak. Haven’t done it yet but would be an awesome view and a good one to tick off the list. Would get a good perspective of the campground and river! It’s marked on Gaia gps if your ever back out that way. Cheers mate love the channel too!!
Great video, we were the first campers there after big floods in the area, over 10 years ago, they came in afterwards and must of spent a long time fixing it, after the video footage of the devastation we showed them. Looks a lot different in your footage, and you never had to book an actual camp-site back then. Thanks for the memories 😊 Also be VERY careful of a black solar blanket on your windscreen, i've known of the heat from them cracking windscreens, and affecting bonnet paint, when laid on them flat. Cheers Rob from Tasmania 😊
Yes they did a great job rebuilding it after the floods! I also had it very different in memory. And thanks for the solar blanket advice was lucky so far but can see how that could happen!
Hay mate, I have same awning and it also used to drip water along the poles... I fixed it with Seam Grip sealant on all the seams on the canvas, it has worked perfect, no more drips no matter how hard it rains. I mentioned it to Supapeg but sadly they didn't really care. It's still one of the best awnings out there, built to last, I've had mine for over 6years and it's still going strong.
Great video, Stefan. l agree with you on the NP booking system, we have found the system in SA to be the best with photos and sun/shade position for each site on their website... other states should definitely follow this example!! So, for Halls Peak, which campsite would you recommend and which ones are definitely not good??
@giddyup, Normally the UHF Ch10 is meant to be used by 4x4clubs, when in convoys, in National Parks. But I guess many people wouldn’t know this as it’s not common knowledge.
I absolutely agree about the booking system, it appears to be spreading over the whole country unfortunately. How we are expected to choose the most suitable site without being there is beyond me, clearly the administrators don,t even camp. I would much prefer the way it used to be.
Enjoying your trip. Sometimes spending a day at camp relaxing and "doing nothing" are the best of times 👍
Couldn't agree more, a day of relaxing is just what the doctor ordered sometimes.

Awesome mate , it looks fantastic. Thats been on my list for a few years now , maybe i should pull my finger out this year 👍🤠
You should! It's well worth the trip.
Thanks Seb,
Liked this one a lot.

@@rogerclift2705 yeah correct - 2002 Model, previous owner took really good care of it. such a good car
@ mines a 1999. Love her! Great cars
@@rogerclift2705 105's are underrated but they are slowly getting more attention
Great Video Stefan, Congratulations. Yes these On-Line Booking Systems are Crazy, probably the most frustrating element of Remote Camping TBH.

Looks like you're a Halls Peak veteran, what do you think is the best hike? Was wondering if there was a track up there?

The campsite with the best views is also the best for seclusion! these are the campsites on the northern side
Just curious, do people use ch10 on the descent? Another tuber was wondering if this would work on the popular tracks in the Vic high country.
yes, I usually scan with one radio and and be on common channel (often 10) on second
