@richlikeg3722 in Indiana in my state u need epa license associates degree contractor license 500.00 insurance pollicy and u need work comp insurance from Indiana osha if not u cannot do hvac in Indiana
Thank you for this info Tad, hands down one of the best videos in terms of info and proper coordination between the courses, classes and etc. From Northern VA over here and I'm definitely going to look into these licenses. thank you !
I’m excited about progress made in this trade only two years out of school. Your channel and many others like it have contributed greatly to my learning. Thank you for sharing this knowledge about the licensing logistics and exam prep sources. I will definitely be looking into this in my state!
Good info! Love seeing the differences in different states. Studying for my contractors license now in AZ, exam set for Tuesday. We don't have so many requirements! Congrats on the pass!
Hey buddy I’m a HVAC technician in Virginia serving the Virginia Beach area I am going to take my journeyman test I have all the books and I was thinking about paying for a class but I think you just convinced me to do the at home prep I hope it gets me ready for this test
Hold up, when you say they can't do jobs over $1000, are you saying as a solo tech or even if your with a company? I'm a 2nd year apprentice and have done 40k plus jobs solo. I work for a contractor tho so, not sure if that makes a difference.
Good stuff I didn't know you were in Virginia. I'm half the year in Norfolk VA the other half in Sarasota Bradenton. For me the Masters in Virginia three books and a couple days later I passed the exam on the second try. On the other hand getting your license in Florida you're better off jumping off the end of a 40-foot ladder. I almost died several times especially after the 8-hour exam for business and then another 8-hour exam to include almost 30 books for the trade knowledge. Total insanity
Thanks. Praying I pass. I’m taking my TTI seminar on the 20tg of this month. So I’ll have like 3 weeks to study. Crazy how we have 12 books and you guys have only a few
Awesome! Please come do some work in Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax VA. Or when you start doing work in Hanover. Please aloud me to come see you run a job. : )
Hi teddy this is a good video I am navy I am from New York. I really need you help because I will be located on Virginia very soon and I was confused how to start work as HVAC technician I have epa universal license and I have a lot of experience but the way how works in Virginia is completely different. Thanks and advance for your answer.
Hi Ted, definitely getting this course. Once the masters is obtained in Va. what needs to be done to get a class C license? Is there an exam for that at all or a class that needs to be completed? Thanks in advance
I thought you lived in Tennessee. Are you expanding into Virginia or just getting licensed there so you can do travel HVAC work? Good video, just wondering and had curiosity sir. Edit: I remember you mentioning in the video with Josh that you were going to Virginia soon to do a big install for someone. Makes sense now 🎉
I have a question, I currently live in VA and I'm working towards my journeyman license, but I went to Trade School in New Jersey where I'm original from, can I use the trade School hours that I have and put them for my journeyman "240 hours" of Schooling or do I have to go to school in VA?
Hey man in the video (which was very informative) you have an NFPA 31 2020 oil book and a 2012 mechanical code book but athomeprep says you need the NFPA 2011 oil book and 2018 mechanical code book for Va test? were you able to use the 2011 oil book and 2012 mechanical code book anyway with no issues or did you take the test for Va a while ago? Thanks
I just took this test a few weeks ago These were books that I had and I didn't feel like purchasing the updated versions. They worked out great. I had no problems
I recently passed my Class A contractors license in VA.
Great Job Brother
It’s all about the money. Who is gonna pay up. Being license doesn’t mean you know everything
True, but what better way to get your foot in the door (of a good company) for rapid self improvement and greater opportunities?!

you can have tabs

You're welcome my brother i'm glad you like the video
You don’t need a license to drive in Georgia. Refrigeration has no requirements in GA either. I’m taking my Alabama exam in May.
I wish they would Do a national exam for all 50 states.
The last time I hired an HVAC technician, he charged me more than $1k to replace a limit switch.
wow thats not good 😐
Great info!!
Glad you think so!

You have to fill out a application and then.Yes you can take the masters

I'm here in va, how about getting class c contractors license
get the master hvac license for the first step towards the class C
Ok cool. I was under the assumption that you only needed 2 years in field to obtain class c. Want to start doing side work.
