I remember watching this movie in theatre with friends and we laughed our as* off. It was the most hilarious movie of those times specially the comic timing and antics of Abhishek Bachchan. He was hilarious

By the way in part 1 when Jaby said this is inspired by a movie with Marilyn Monroe, did he mean Some Like It Hot? It's one of my all time fav movies and I never thought of it as an inspiration for Dostana, it's very different, but I guess there is a very thin common basis (in SLIH two guys cross dress as women to escape mobsters, they meet Marilyn and both get a crush on her but have to pretend like they're not interested since she thinks they're women).

Desi actually means 'of the country'. So, for an american, a product of their country will be a desi product for them. But because desi is a hindi word, somewhere down the line it became synonymous with Indian products or being/acting typical Indian.
