    This anthem - originally written by Harry Dixon Loes as a Christian children's song - became a musical symbol of the civil rights movement in the 1960s and 70s. It's a song that brought people together at that time of challenge and strife, united by its central message of confidence and peace. The arrangement was made by Stacey V. Gibbs for our 'Finding Harmony' album which we released in 2020.

    I really like these sing-alongs. I used to do barbershop back in the day.

    Fun as hell to sing along to. I go back and forth from the tenor to the bass lines - and I am a lady.

      Special memories of our 6-year-old granddaughter who lived with us for two years. She could not speak but endlessly turned pages of a book with this recorded song being sung by children. Music is the great connector. You guys are fantastic! ♡ Lovely arrangement.

    Utterly, utterly charming. It may amuse you to know that in February this year a concert by The King Singers, due to occur the next evening at the Pensacola Christian College, was suddenly cancelled because "upon learning that one of the artists maintained a lifestyle that contradicts" the Bible. I'm gob-smacked. Who'd have thought that you would find homophobia in a Christian college in such a gay friendly state as Florida?

      Totally unacceptable that they should not be allowed to sing. If these people read their Bibles closely I think I'm right in saying that Jesus himself never even mentioned the matter of homosexuality. Furthermore, it was not a concept even recognizable.

      My above message refers of course to the comment that has emerged from someone referring to a cancelled Florida trip, I believe 😞

      @@PaulSmith-gl3qb yes I agree Paul. Simply an outrageous act of ignorance and intolerance.

    WELL DONE guys! I love the sing-a-longs. In this selection it's very easy to discern who's singing which part. but I'm wondering, as a tribute to those of us very familiar with music notation, if you might consider affording Julian a Tenor Clef. Seems too standard to assign him a treble clef. You don't see it that often.

    Where are the original King´s Singers???

    • @twbrandt
      @twbrandt 7 месяцев назад +3

      The King’s Singers formed 55 years ago in 1968. The original King’s Singers are all retired (or dead). The group has undergone a number of lineup changes over the years. I think this current lineup is outstanding.
