Gale Has The Portfolio of Ambition as stated in game, It’s a portfolio that Karsus held for a fraction of time before the divine power turned his mortal body to stone, Ambition, Greed & Unchecked Hubris were the Portfolios given to Karsus before his inevitable demise; meant as a slight and insult to rub in his wounds before he succumbed to Hubris, & a Warning to Others the price of Hubris unchecked. Seeing as Gale Succeeded in ascending to Divinity he more than likely tossed aside Unchecked Hubris & maybe the greed portfolio(s). Cyric however is imprisoned and most of his portfolios have been taken back by the Dead three, All he is now is the Trickster God Of Lies & Strife. I could see a religious skirmish between Gaelarians and Banites, Bane still has a fairly prominent position in Thay; Bane having the Portfolio Of Tyranny and Fear could prove a worthy contender for the God of Ambition but seeing as Bane is only a Quasi-deity now he might have a hard time contending with a full fledged God (Even if he’s only a Nascent God)
it wouldn't be since Cyric actually has lost all his portfolios by 15dr and is a demigod/quasi divine like the dead 3 were though he isnt considered dead
Plot twist, what if Cyric helped the absolute? He wanted to get rid of the gods and they were all being pushed back, now that they have been distracted and exhausted, the supreme throne, could have developed a crack or a seam for him to escape from? I just don’t believe in coincidences, the fact that sharr, mystra, jyrgle, bane, Bhaal, and myrkul, all have a hand in this game in one way or another, leads me to believe, he will in fact be the antagonist if we do get an expansion. We could even see kalemvor in an expansion if we get one. The one thing I’ve learned about Larian, is they love their stories to revolve mortals and gods, what better way todo that then to bring forth the 3 who ascended into godhood, Cyric, Mystra, and Kalemvor. Menzoberranzan is a rumored location that could have made its way into this game, and I could see Lolth colluding with Cyric and it leading us into Avernus, and eventually if we drive him back, he retreats into the chaos realm and we rebanish him to the supreme throne. I could also see them expanding baulders gate and allowing us into the upper city, giving us 2 fresh hubs with Menzoberranzan and Baulders gate’s upper district. I think the biggest issue, is trying to decide weather this is a stand alone campaign, or a continuation. If we bring everyone back, and we factor every ending and how that could effect the start of this expansion, it would be an incredible undertaking, and would only lead to even more endings, a spider web of chaos. The easier route would be to invoke new heroes with a new story, but I feel our attachment to our current party members would draw to much of a back lash from the community. Regardless of what Larian does, I’m ready for it. Thank you for a great video, I’m glad there are more out there pulling on the Cyric thread. It would be an amazing story to tell if they decide to go run with it.
Lolth + Cyric make _so much_ sense together. Both famously, even _extravagantly_ chaotic evil. Cyric with his portfolios of Lies and Strife. Lolth with her portfolios of Trickery and War. Both want to kill all the gods. They're almost mirror images of each other. The love/hate relationship, alternating between fascination and conflict, between giggly, vicious joy and seething hatred, between mutual distrust and mutual understanding - it would be _bombastic._ I ship it. It could make for quite the stochastic ride.
I don't know if the game itself explain about it, but how do the Astral Prism got stolen in the first place? You would think Vlaakith secured it tightly.
The only thing mentioned is the Empereor saying Gortash tasked mind flayers to find and steal the Prism, the empereor found it first and Orpheus's influence freed him from the brain's influence, but otherwise its not mentioned WHY the prism was not with the gith, nor where it was when Shadowheart stole it, which is certainly very suspicious
All ideas of what the DLC could be aside, part of me hopes that it's its own story with new characters. I feel like now that they have all of the assets for the game created, they could make a new story in a relatively decent amount of time. I do wish they had a couple more subclasses and spells though. Still dumbfounded why Aberrant Mind Sorcerer wasn't included. I'm sure it won't be that and is probably just a continuation of the sotry, perhaps with a few more levels tacked on, but that's what I'm hoping for anyway.
if they do a dlc it should continue with all the characters we recruit join us and continue durge/tav's story. like if we become a mindflayr it could have consequences in the dlc but also has perks too. for example we could use ilitihid abilities in dialogue for unique outcomes
characters carried BG3. Maybe for the worse or for the better but having the DLC feature completely different people probably would make most fans (mostly newcomers to RPG) riot. A bad move, imho.
@@TheSaival if they do dlc or free expansion updates it could be a good way to then increase the level cap from 12 to say 19 or 20 and add more races and classes
@@spellandshield accordance with the source books and info when Mystra returned she striped Cyric of all his power and left him a quasi divine. the god of madness portfolio was destroyed when he became sane and the trickster title and the trickster portfolio was lost to him when he was imprisoned within his realm resulting in his fall to demigod status as he was also denied worship. it would be interesting if they did a dlc where Cyric attempts to regain his god status since by 15dr (the time period of BG3 he is a demigod having lost his portfolios to a few other gods over time and his true divinity rejected by Io due ironically his killing of Mystra which is why he could never claim her portfolio he's currently a demigod/quasi divine
Cyric at one point was god of thieves, lies, shadows and assassins. The god Mask was missing because he had changed himself into the sword that Cyric wielded Godslayer and Cyric didnt know this until after a long time it was revealed.
OK, now I feel bad for helping out that Strange Ox 😉
If cannonized Cyric would have to compete with the portfolio of Ego vs god gale

Cyric doesn't get nearly enough coverage so thank you!
I could totally see a story in Bg that would be going to Pandemonium to kill him, the Gith fit right in as well, I would love a Githzerai
You do some great videos. Keep it up!
nice long time coming good video. next Kossuth yes i know i wont shut up about Kossuth
Great video as usual.
Cyric is a tricky one and given the comment by Swen Vincke I wonder if they are still considering DLC.
I’d like them to do an expansion after the definitive edition. For the definitive edition, it’d be great if ACT 3 was polished like ACT 1.
Great stuff. 👍
He uses the portfolio of lies to know all lies that will ever be told. He then uses that as a type of pre cognition.
❤ my ferrets name is Cyric.

you got some stuff wrong, he lost all of his portfolios by 15dr and exists as a demigod/quasi divine
I have never seen that officially stated. I have seen the claims but tell the me source. You cannot find this claim anywhere.
