So Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul were the original gods (well, not original, that was Jergal), and Cyric was a mortal who took over their portfolios at the end of the Times of Troubles. He started out as an adventuring companion to Midnight, Kelemvor, and Adon, but ended up betraying them.
One thing I really wish arcane tricksters got was the ability to scribe spells. Cause their whole thing is stealing magical secrets! It'd make sense thematically! Like they have their basics that they get from level up, but then they can add any spell they "steal" to their abilities. I feel like it'd just give them a real boost to playability.
you could still take a one level dip into wizard if you wanted the spell scribing, just give up the mage slayer feat. though if you wanted to go further, taking two levels in wizard as a rouge would open up some fun stuff, though mostly flavor. illusion gets a bonus action minor illusion, enchamants hypnotic gaze could be interesting, divination portents are basically discount advantage, and you could get double poisons as transmutation
Dead 3 deity builds? Beinv able to play builds that mimic some of my fav characters in the whole games deities? Sign me uppp! This build was very cool,im so excited to see those builds, and being able to play a build similiar to my girl orin rahh!
Since you went Half-Elf, you could go with Dancing Breeze. Maybe having a glaive doesn't fit the aesthetic... or maybe it does, what a mad lad move to wield a FINESSES glaive... but it is +2 and offers a whirlwind attack. So combined with Drakethroat Glaive it becomes +3 with some elemental damage. Re: Uncanny dodge. It is indeed only 1/round, because it uses your reaction. Basically, if Shield would negate damage entirely, use your reaction on shield (which could make other attacks against you in the same round miss as well, since the AC bonus lasts until the start of your next turn), otherwise if Shield wouldn't offer enough AC to negate the attack then use Uncanny Dodge to halve the damage. I also think Arcane Trickster is viewed so poorly in BG3 because you can't do nearly as much with it as you can in tabletop. Mage hand is more consistently useful, plus you can lockpick from range in tabletop by using it. Booming Blade + sneak attack + bonus action disengage to move away, forcing the enemy to take the rider damage if they want to follow is extremely potent. Rogue is already great. Adding magic shenanigans on top is just so good.
Sorry if I’ve said this before cause it’s my new obsession. But when you ever get finished with bg3 and move on, I’d love builds for divinity 2 I know it’s old but I’m absolutely crazy about it right now
I started doing BG3 campaigns where the origin companions use their default subclasses for lore purposes (i.e. Wildheart Barbarian for Karlach) and while Thief or Assassin would be more optimal for Astarion, this build would actually work for a lore-accurate Astarion playthrough since the game defaults him to an Arcane Trickster. I could headcanon this as Cyric being bored one random day, seeing Cazador and being annoyed by his existence, then choosing to sow chaos in the vampire's coven through Astarion, kickstarting the Pale Elf's storyline and adventure in the game.
Going the full 12 of Arcane Trickster I would probably also make this character a scroll caddy. Have then collect all the higher level spells they can't get normally like Hold Monster and Greater Invisibility. Although going Trickster 10 and Wizard 2 would get third level spells also.
Idea A mastermind divination or illusion wizard battlemaster fighter who is a charlatan or criminal who uses his intellect to deceit and beat people in combat by making sure he is at an advantage I’m thinking about doing a heist crew as this guy as the planner/leader
I know I'm once again being "that guy," but if you kill an enemy and get the invisibility from the Deathstalker Mantle, and then use the GWM bonus attack, you can't in is again in the same turn, so you're left vulnerable. You also don't get a second proc of Sneak Attack, so it'd be better to forgo the second attack most of the time and just stay invisible for the rest of the turn, and then OHKO someone next turn.

Yes, and Kelemvor ended up picking up the new role for God of the Dead. And his Girlfriend Midnight, became Mystra.
So Gale is with Kelemvor's ex. Lol

Didn’t expect a Cyric build but its a welcome surprise, also can’t wait for the stream
This actually seems really fun might play DU for the first time with this. Thanks for the build.
Just today I was thinking I never saw anyone do arcane trickster build 😂 Also kinda cool to see someone take more than 3 levels of rogue

Dang, didn't realize i was this early!
Keep up the good work hobo! Spectacular video as always.

22:40 which has been fixed in the latest update!
Unfortunately we'll be back to generic background though(
Not if I don't update

So cyric is basically dnd's loki
Turns out, to make Arcane Trickster good, you just needed to be mad and a liar. Its almost poetic...almost.
Magical Ambush at lvl 9 is crazy! If not lvl 3, it should be at least lvl 5
oh thank you for this build, I loved Cyric and am so angry in how disrespected of a character he has become.
Good video but you got the history backwards, The Dead 3 took over the Domains of Jergal. Then Cyric took them over for a time before Kelemvor.
Nice. Was looking for a nonreformed DU build. this could be it.

He killed a god? He must have been playing an rpg.
😂😂😂
"He killed a god" every japanese rpg described in one sentence
I was playing ffxiv while watching this and thought i was going crazy hearing Kefka's theme. Seems like Cyric's trickery is afoot.
Do you think you can do a necromancer/monk build or a build based on the character frieren?
Crazy that you don't mention that you get sneak attack guaranteed each turn as long as you move your invisible hand next to your target😮😮😮
Idea A mastermind divination or illusion wizard battlemaster fighter
who is a charlatan or criminal who uses his intellect to deceit and beat people in combat by making sure he is at an advantage
I’m thinking about doing a heist crew as this guy as the planner/leader
You would probably like my Fortunate Four video
Kefka palazzo build
Id love to see a lolth priestess build
I do have a Lolth build already, but I guess it's not a priestess...
Weird question, anyone got any ideas how to build a Gnome who is meant to be thrown by a Frenzy Barb?
You probably want a Monk. Resistance to fall damage and can be a little whirlwind of punches after landing.
You said this was a Dark Urge build, and then later said to pick a specific background, lol.
Whoops
You also drop an F-Bomb super early in the video. Doesn't that get you demonitized?
@@ThatReplyGuy shhhh I have my ways
