Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I am such a visual sewer and when I got this pattern I just knew someone would have a video. This is a basket I am making for my daughter in law for her first baby.
I made this as a diaper station for my grandson who is now 2 1/2 years old. I still learned things from watching your tutorial. Now I want to make it again! Thanks!!
I actually like a drop in lining. It's so much easier to put some kind of a firm bottom into the basket for extra stability. Also, If you do the handles a little bit different, you could also use a fold-over binding around the top. Thanks Jess!
I have a similar basket my sister gave me for Christmas and I first used it to keep hats and gloves during winter. I now use it for my vehicle and put an umbrella, wet wipes and neck pillow. Since I’ve got all the materials, I am so making this! This would be great for making Christmas baskets and stuff a range of items in it.
You CAN birth basket. Leave opening so it falls across the divider - half of opening is on each side of divider. I.e. measure over 3" both sides of top so you can see divider in centre of opening.
Just love this basket and cannot wait to make some. Thanks for doing the tutorial - I am not sure I could understand the divider without watching first.
I bought this pattern yesterday, and I bought some pretty fabric to make the basket but then I watched your brilliant tutorial and now I want that TP lion and spotty fabric… sigh… I love your bag, it’s so cute 🥰
It seems like you could leave the bottom of the outside open and hand sew it afterward, since the lining will take the brunt of the stress, if you absolutely must birth it. However it is assembled, though, the rim will have to be top-stitched to make it look finished, so I think the drop-in lining is perfect. Can't wait to make this bag and add a few more pockets. I love pockets. Love your channel!
Jess & Noodlehead is always a great combo. This is a fun pattern. I have made several for myself and gifts. Thanks for a great tutorial as always Jess. ❤
Hi Jess! Your awesome. Thank you for all you do in the sewing community. Love your style of teaching. You said to request so here it goes. I bought the Markers tote by Noodle head when it came out. There is not 1 full tutorial for this pattern by anyone. I would love & appreciate it if you can do one. It looks like a great organizer. Btw… I love Noodle head patterns too when she does tutorials for her patterns. She always has little technics that amazes me. Thank you in advance. Tina B😊
LOVE THIS!! And even though I really don't need another project to try, I bought the pattern. I've got an assortment of fun cat print fabrics that I'm going to start with. You've got links for so many of the things you use, I'd love to see a link for your cute bag tags! I also make bags and haven't had much luck finding something that is different, and cute.
It's much easier if you mark flat pieces before you sew. Top folds of lining and exterior, handle placement. I also add DST along those edges before I sew. I'd mark the centers of the exterior panels with disappearing ink, too, about 3/4" down to make matching the lining to the exterior more accurate. Drop in linings are my favorite, but you must be very accurate in your cutting and seam allowances.
Thanks for this tutorial! I have the pattern, but haven't made it yet. I love Noodlehead patterns! I would really like to see you do a tutorial of the 241 Bag. Thanks for all you do! 😊
Jess, thanks soooo much for making this bag. I made it for new babies about a year or so ago and filled it with dippers on one side and baby books on the other and it was such a joy to review it with you, your awesome. Now I have to go make it again🎉
Love Noodlehead patterns (and you❤️). I have just started a Zip top totebag from Noodlehead (from her book) but its not going so Good😱 Please make a video on that bag❤️😊
I LOOOOVED THIS TUTORIAL!!!! And I have had my eye in Thai pattern, and I’m so glad you showed us how easy it actually is to make, I WILL BUY THIS for sure NOW! Thankyou Jess. ❤ you are the best!
Another great tutorial Jess! This is such a great, useful idea! I bought one to keep dog stuff in my car, but now I can make one to coordinate better with my car interior and make it out of easy to wipe down materials!!! Or a big ole snack bag (per usual)
Off to get this pattern and then make it taller and longer. I have been searching for a divided pocket tor at least a year because I need a better way to deal with our dogs food at boarding,
I know this is off topic but would you possibly consider a tutorial covering the Campfire Messenger Bag from Noodlehead patterns? So many individuals (including myself) are disappointed there are no tutorials anywhere in reference to constructing this bag. 🙂
Jess I have a question. I want to make one of these for my father's cart for groceries. What do you recommend to stiffen it so it will hold a few groceries.
I have a big question. I am confused with the divider it tells me to cut 3, 2 lining and 1 fusible woven interfacing. Please explain that to me. Also, how did you get your pattern templates so smooth? My pattern has all sorts of fold lines. I can't wait to make this - we are going to be having a baby in the family after 22 years!! Thank you for your reply!!
In order to birth the basket, could you construct like in this video? Then you'd only need to fold a few inches of the exterior and lining. You can close the hole with your first line of top stitching. ruclips.net/video/FCdiDPQf1xw/видео.htmlsi=8KnDCfph1MyiPLmi

Noodlehead and Oklaroots - the perfect combination! Thanks Jess. Great video.
I couldn't resist. I bought the pattern after watching the video. I've got 2 cut out and interfaced and ready to go. Wish me luck!

Great tutorial!! Can’t wait to try!

I’d like to make several of these with Christmas fabric and use for little gifts rather than a stocking. Maybe embroider on the front pocket.
"You're going to be fine!" I made this today and thanks to your tutorial I was just fine! Thank you!
Outstanding easy to follow video!! Many thanks!!
Thanks!
Well, I was on the struggle bus for the top seam, but it’s a cute basket and otherwise simple. Thanks, Jess!❤
Just love this basket and cannot wait to make some. Thanks for doing the tutorial - I am not sure I could understand the divider without watching first.
You can do it!
Drop in lining is so easy peasy, no worries! ❤

I love your constant encouragement. Thank u!
Love this basket Jess
Adorable!
I think I would try to bind it like I do my quilting projects.

Great video. I purchased the pattern and plan to make some for Christmas gifts. Gotta find some canvas. Thank you.
So glad you did this tutorial. I have had the pattern for ages, but didn’t find instructions the easiest xxx
It took me a minute to wrap my head around that center pocket, but once I did it was smooooooth sewing 😉
Love it

Haha I love that! I could make SO many of these. I need to find some friends with babies 🤔
I love this basket. I think I’ll make a lot of them for my AccuQuilt dies.
Oooo that’s a great idea!
I love it! Great job! 🌷
I’ve bought the pattern I love it 😊
Love Noodlehead patterns (and you❤️). I have just started a Zip top totebag from Noodlehead (from her book) but its not going so Good😱 Please make a video on that bag❤️😊
I loved this tutorial! I’ve been trying to come up with a way to do this in clear vinyl.
Great Basket!!!
I LOOOOVED THIS TUTORIAL!!!! And I have had my eye in Thai pattern, and I’m so glad you showed us how easy it actually is to make, I WILL BUY THIS for sure NOW! Thankyou Jess. ❤ you are the best!

I love it!
I’ve made those forever. Such a good pattern🎉
Love your comment, all those kiddos, how many do you have? Will we see them on your videos one day?
Off to get this pattern and then make it taller and longer. I have been searching for a divided pocket tor at least a year because I need a better way to deal with our dogs food at boarding,
What a great idea!
Love it ! I am Native American so can you use flannel lining ?
I want to make it with PUL on the inside. I can keep unpaper towels in it to be washed in one side and clean in the other.
Well that’s brilliant!
Will cotton spandex be ok to use for the exterior?
I'm clearly going to make this. As a dude, I will need to find dude material, but I will make it. Maybe ballistic nylon.
Try waxed canvas! It has the coolest texture once it get wrinkled and used. 👍
Oooo a waxed canvas version would be so cool!
Would it be possible to do binding around the top with the straps?
I think the straps would prevent the binding from working
You are a very articulate instructor. Excellent job. Thanks.
Jess how do you like your iron

Which Bernina sewing machine do you have? 😮
How about leaving a hole a bit open at the bottom lining under the strap? Would that work?
I can’t visualize it, but there’s GOT to be a way
❤❤
A friend is expecting twins. I want to make one (or two) of these for her. I will wait until I know the gender of the babies to buy the fabric.

I bet you could birth it through a side seam.
