    To be a coach you need to have the players respect. When you have to negotiate their contracts and they dont like what you can offer because of what the people above you allow. It becomes an issue. Simple management. Thats why you have different positions in business and not just one boss for everything. The players began to resent him because he couldn’t just throw money at them. This is basically what he said. Bill was a good coach. They gave him too many responsibilities

    All things aside we were in the playoffs more often than not during his time as coach, so he was a good coach.He tried to imitate Bellichik as HC/GM. He alienated his players, the D-Hop trade was the worst trade in recent history. After the loss to KC, he looked like he was reading the dementia ridden Al Davis Football for dummies. Speed, Speed, Speed! His contracts were shit, he overpaid average players. Thank God Casserio got rid of Easterby and was able to fix the mess he created. He acts like he didn’t want to be GM, yet his forcing out both Rick Smith and Brian Gain says otherwise. Good riddance

      Rick Smith was already gone. What players did he alienate?? Every Texans player who played for Bill said he was a disciplinarian so he never had a problem with his players. Jack Easterby, not Bill, traded away DeAndre. The only big trade Bill was involved in was the Tunsil trade which turned out to be great bc Laremy is the best offensive tackle in the NFL right now. @@Liquidswords-2r Homework…..hmmmm 🤨 Bill O’Brien was lobbying for more control over personal while Smith was GM, hence after just 1 season as GM, Brian Gaines was fired after a playoff appearance, the Texans botched hiring Casserio, brought in Easterby at Bill’s insistence. D-Hop also was unhappy and has said so publicly and forced the trade. You’re naive to think that while Easterby took the blame for the trade, he didn’t make this move without O’Brien signing off on it. Randall Cobb was another former Texan who was disgruntled, there were many many stories done on the toxic culture of the Texans at the end of O’Briens run. As to your comment on Laremy being the best LT, that distinction goes to SF’s Trent Williams by everyone including those who decided on the All Pro team. You must have been a casual fan if you missed all of this….so you might want to do your own homework, kid.

      @@mellomike4012Rick Smith left for personal reasons. Brian was weak and incompetent so the Texans really didn't miss our on anything. Nick Casserio had 7 Superbowl wins to his resume before he got hired so that was a great hire and look where we're at right now with Nick at the helm. Let me say this again, casual: Jack, not Bill, was the one who traded away DeAndre. Everyone but their mother knows this. D Hop was unhappy because he wanted a pay raise and threatened to sit out if he didn't get a pay raise. D Hop was making $19 mil a year and already one of the highest paid wide receivers in the NFL. He was a narcissist, rightfully got traded away and got what he deserved. Randall Cobb was a bum who was useless while he was here. Laremy is the best offensive tackle in the NFL. That's why they paid him $25 mil for 3 years. You still don't know what you're talking about. Go back to watching golf, kid.

    • @mellomike4012
      @mellomike4012 3 месяца назад

      @@Liquidswords-2r Casual……first everybody has written a article about the toxic relationship between O’Brien and Smith…..NBC, Houston Chronicle, and Bleacher report. Secondly Gaines brought in Reid, Akins and Coutee in the 18 draft class and Mathieu at the time was the biggest free agent signing in Texans history. A GM whose team made the playoffs and was fired after his first year doesn’t happen in the NFL very often. Regardless of the hairs you’re trying to split on the who did, who didn’t trade D-Hop….both were involved as GM and VP of Player Personnel and the fact remains D-Hop was disgruntled and wanted out of Houston because of Bill, ESPN did an article and Michael Irvin even spoke about it. And lastly, the best players at their positions are named to the 1st and 2nd team All Pro. A player can be paid amongst the best and not be the best it depends on the timing and if his team feels he is worth setting the market. Joe Burrow is currently the highest paid Qb in the NFL, I believe everyone would agree that Mahomes is still the best. Without facts your just spitting opinions…..I did my homework and referenced my facts and where you can find them. All you have to do is read. And Golf is for rich people!
