once i got to the solo lead clips i was quite impressed by your lead playing. I know thats not your main style but the tapping was beautiful and perfectly in time. I’m impressed!
Been playing 5 years and I still have trouble with lead playing (forget writing a solo) it requires a whole different discipline of skills compared to rhythm, riffs and chords. It's easy enough to write good riffs. Good leads are a mystery to me. I know a lot of minor/major and all the modes in different 3 note per string scale shapes, but knowing the scales.. even knowing the theory only goes so far. Writing good melodies is something you can only do with experience. Melodies and leads are also kind of a mystery to music theorist.
Such a sick guitar. The clarity is insane for a 9 string. Other 9 strings I hear usually sound muddy because of how low it is. But this sounds so clear!
This is probably my favorite demo mix I have heard you do. The clean tapping section at the beginning and end where fantastic and where a great contrast to chugs.
A total beast. Sounds amazing and really makes me think about the benefits of these new materials and construction styles. Keep up the good work being a beacon and driving force bringing us these awesome demonstrations, Andrew.
1:22 sounds kinda like something I’d hear in a song by Jeff hughell… specifically this one solo from one of his songs known as brief lapse of clarity (I believe)
As amazing as it sounds, I think I will stick to 8 strings. I was partial to the red raw finish, but now I'm convinced. Red body and black freeboard are the way to go for my next Aristedes order.
That clean riff at 0:58 and 2:34 was one of the most beautiful riffs I've ever heard, what an insane guitar, unfortunately it's *slightly* out of my budget
With it being a 9-string they could easily have made it a 31" on the bass side for better string tension. 9-string guitars are already deep into bass territory so it would be logical to have the same scale length as a short-scale bass.
It still has to be a 9 string guitar not a 4 string bass. I do agree more scale lenght would be good but I play 10s and some people play 9 gauge strings or even 8s. If you make fanfret reasonable with 31 inch bass you would have 28 inch trebble and that could be too much for some people in terms of tension
@@TheGunmac10 The classical baritone scale length for 6-string guitar is 30" so I don't see 31" being too big of a stretch, especially for 9- and 10-string guitars. I've only ever played one eight string guitar, a Ibanez M80 which has a 29.5"(?) scale length, and it still feels a bit slack on the low F# even with a 9-80 set. I'm a bassist though, so I'm used to high string tension 😄 My friend who owns the M80 just received his Per Nilsson signature Strandberg so I'm hoping that I'll get to play that one soon as well 😀
The lowest string sounded beautiful on clean channel. When distortion kicked in, the low end fell away and I could no longer hear anything very low at all.
Does anyone have some basic setup tips to make the best of the low end? I have a tam10, Is a compressor the missing key to get the low end to stick out clean? And then compressor and noise gate for distortion?
I owned an h/06 and sold it for the reasons mentioned. Killer guitar but just didn't think the hardware was quite there yet. I adore my 060rs however, i can restring and play a gig in 5 mins haha
So was Pascal saying the new tuning peg will be able to just swap out for an existing bridge, or at least that's their plan? I LOVE my H/08 and it's the biggest pain point for me as well. Hate having to strip part of the winding just to fit the 8th string in. Everything else is everything I wanted it to be and more.
By that logic I must be a banana then, I share 60% of my genome with those after all! Man, paper is paper, wood is wood. They share some characteristics in terms of chemical composition obviously but that's about it. Wood fibers run mostly parallel, in paper it's all over the place, which makes getting it that thin possible. Composite materials like richlite are way more stable when it comes to thermal expansion/contraction. Any carpenter can tell you how much wood moves in comparison even when roasted or torrefied
UPD: Oh, it has another output jack. The lower text is my actual feelings, good thing i watched further As i was watching this linkor of guitar, and you, sitting comfortably with it in classical position, on your thighs... I screamed out, WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING, as loud as 2 am could possibly allow me to do so, when i saw the bloody output hole. For the love of god, please tell me, why is the output jack in that place?!?!?!
it sounds amazing but for 3 grand ill never be able to even play one of these fucking things man. 90 percent of us will never hold one of those at that price range lol
THEY FINALLY RELEASED THE NEW SADDLESS BROOOOOOO! IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG. Ordered my first build and they'll have the new bridge. Still have to lock the bridge sadly though.. but no more cutting. @andrew baena

The demo mix sold me. This guitar is officially god tier. The double output jack is cool af as well
Omg this thing sounds insane! I'm a huge fan of the two output jacks, that's such a cool idea.

There’s only one absolute unit and it’s my man’s Andrew Baena
Wasn't ready for that tappy intro but I'm amazed
That demo riff is so sweet! HUGE After The Burial vibes! This is so sweet!
incredible demonstration I own this h/09 and you reviewed jt so well
That was the coolest solo I've ever seen you play.
Make the demo a song or instrumental please. I wanna add it to my Spotify playlist.
The song is called MU, you can find it on my 2019 solo album on all streaming platforms (just sounds a bit diff since it was recorded a few years ago)
@@BaenaCarcosa Got it on my playlist, thanks man.

Completely SHREDS @ 6:15!
2:20 part sounded super After The Burial-ish to me
This song was def me doing my best ATB impersonation haha
Bro so glad you played MU. Love that song!!!
That's is an amazing instrument. Can't believe it sounds so good without wood.
BAENA WITH THE TAPPING?! So cool dude!
Nicely done man. Any chance of you using a 9-string now for future material?
I've done a few 9 string songs over the years so probably!
You have some of the best 9 string tone I've ever heard! 👌
Looks a bit like a strandberg. Awesome sound🔥
The low end on that sounds soooo good
god now i need a 9 string
I've got an H/08 and this video made me want to get an H/09.

That’s a dope guitar, fire riffs🤘🔥
Mother of pearl inlays ? Great playing and video !
You feeling okay bro? I noticed you used nearly all the strings? I'm here if you need to talk..... Hahahaha na fukn love it mate 🤘
That was one beautiful ass mix my guy 🔥
That windbreaker though!

Does anybody know who's logo that is on the 12th fret?
It’s the inlay they use for their H/0 series
@@BaenaCarcosa interesting choice to have two completely different logos on the fretboard, thanks for the info!

Legend has it that once upon a time we thought 6-string drop D was heavy...
It still is heavy

The demo really made me think of Abandoned By Bears
What happens when you use both jacks at the same time?
MORE DJENT, DUH 😂

Yeah that’s the plan, the bridge stays the same but you just swap out the “tuning pegs” and locking saddle, if that makes sense
@@BaenaCarcosa can't wait Aristides is always on it.

really got the bluetooth guitar🤩🤩
clean thall beginning
What a beast!!
What are the string sizes on the guitar
10-90

bro, was that Mu 無 in the demo? Haven't heard that song in a while ;)
It was! So cool to see that some people remember the song :)

If richlite is made out of paper and resin, why shouldn't it be wood? Paper's made out of wood
Saw this comment coming haha
Richlite doesn't contract like wood tho when it's dry so don't have to worry about those pesky frets sprouting lol

There are two output jacks so you can use either.
