Well, sir, if you like No Budget Reviews, you have two more to watch already and then I have two more to edit and upload, so I hope that you enjoy them all!
Thanks Joe! Yes, this is a lovely colour, probably identical to your father's E39. Colin was kind enough to give me a bit of straight six diesel noise, which I am glad to hear was enjoyable for you!
A great review and brings back memories. In the early 2000's I had a 318 SE petrol, light green with gorgeous light grey interior. It was the most comfortable car to drive. By the time it was 6 years old things started to fail, such as electric window, cooling system leaks from under the bonnet, back bushes. But the dealer The Country Garage in Ballymena was excellent at repairs. Eventually it was time to move it on and I got a very underrated car the 2007 Volvo S40.
Ah yes, I think the 318i would have been a similar specification to my friend's 1999 one. It is a shame that the car you had needed so many repairs, seems to be a common theme with the E46 for some reason. Those grey leather interiors are lovely, aren't they? Would love to do an S40 too. Glad you enjoyed this episode!
Your right it was this model 3 series that started competing aggressively with the mondeo, vectra, 406, laguna. And so companies thought why not have a car that will keep 50% of its value after 3 years and not 30% like the others.
Yes, we have very few competitors in the Mondeo sized class now, but the premium German alternatives, like the 3-Series, still enjoy very strong sales. It must be principally for the reason you mentioned, as it does make business sense.
Oh for those who need to know the part numbers of the parts, your viewers can use the realoem website. And a site with instructions on repairing it is called newtis :)
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting thank you J. I saw a 1999 318i saloon near me for sale today with 170k (miles) on the clock. Very rusty, for £2600!! And it was very rusty.
Belated thanks to Joseph for coming to film this. I have since traded it in for a Suzuki Celerio - for my mother. On the way to switch the cars I stopped at Fleet services. Got back to it, unlocked it and tried to start it.... All electricity vanished from the car! All lights went off. I opened the boot, manually as the switch was dead, whacked the battery terminals and everything came on again. Suffice to say I didn't switch it off again until I got the dealer, 90 minutes later.
Oh dear, sir... Having to use the old trick of hitting the battery terminals to get the car to start sounds less than ideal. Good idea not to switch it off until you got there! I hope that your mother is enjoying the new Suzuki, still never driven one, sadly. Thanks again for having me come and film your cars once again!
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting Mid ‘oh-eck it’s broken’ I remembered we had a bit of a problem reconnecting the battery during lockdown after recharging it. The Celerio is surprisingly fun to drive. There’s so little power you have to thrash it, and it’s a very rev happy engine. Fit and finish seems to be from about 20 years ago. You know where I am if you want a go. Plus there’s the auto R56 Mini to try.
I did not realise that there was a 2.9 litre and then a 3.0 litre. I remember the 2.5 litre diesel turbo that went into the 325 td and 525 td and Omega. That engine was indirect injection. Then, I thought it was replaced by the 3.0 litre 530d which was common rail direct injection and much more economical. A friend of mine has owned a 1999 318i and he loves it he keeps the mileage down because he has a motorbike for the spring and summer months. BMW at its beautiful best. Maybe its time for them to go retro before the new monster grille scares all the customers away. Loved this. Some diesels are actually a bit special. Whoops 🤭 SOAP WASH MOUTH IMMEDIATELY.
Oh yes, sir! Please stop talking about the Forbidden Fuel on this channel. The E46 is a much celebrated car, but I couldn't really bring myself to love it as I could with something like a Jaguar X-Type or a Rover 75. Nice E46s will be future classics, though....
@@seancooke4127 , yes, absolutely silly prices are commanded for the best early 75s these days, some stupidly optimistic when many cars are still worth under £500. The X-Type will probably start to catch up in value when the sills on most examples have rotted away which tends to kill most of them off.
Thanks for the shout out. I really enjoyed this video. I would love to have an e46 again.
Well, there are plenty over here, sir, for when you come back!
What a great idea "No budget reviews" Loved it and looking forward to some more of these.
Yes, got quite a few No Budget Reviews on the playlist now! Glad you enjoyed this one, there will be another one to watch in a few days' time.
Catching up on some old videos. Really do enjoy the budget car reviews, great series

My dad had a 530d E39 in what I think was the same colour as this for nearly 10 years, the sound of the engine is very familiar still.

Very smart cars to this day. Well done Joseph!
Well sir, as you know, we aim to please!
Retro Bavarian always impressive, great video.
Thanks very much indeed! These cars do drive quite well for very little money.

@@lloydvehicleconsulting In some ways the 'oldies' are the best :-)
I suppose it depends, newer cars under warranty do tend to be a bit more dependable...
My absolute favourite 3 series. A 318i Touring in bright red or light metallic green. Was never surpassed.
These E46s are now extremely cheap, and numbers are falling fast, so decent ones will shortly become classics, I have no doubt.

Thanks for the information, sir, I am sure that will be useful, as is your video on the channel about it.

Oh gosh, that sounds like a bit of a dodgy car... Was the rust worse than the one I tested?
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting hey, yes. They don’t have strict MOTs like they do back home in the UK. My car is very rare in Russia, condition wise.
Indeed, sir, I have heard about Russia's lack of anything approaching an MOT system.

Ah yes, sir! Thanks ever so much indeed, I look forward to filming both of those very soon....
Putting the key down in the boot? You like to live dangerously, don't you?
It's No Budget Reviews! Anything goes...
Diseasel haha I thought that too

@@lloydvehicleconsulting I believe Rover 75s may be already. The X Type's classic status is looming, good ones of course.

I did, sir! You don't need to spend a lot of money on a car to have a great deal of fun.
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting checked RUclips at 10:45 , reply 7 hours ago ! 3:45 sleep?
I happened to be awake at the time, went back to sleep for a good long while afterwards...
8:46 Hmmm... diesel
Unfortunately yes....
Aree we allowed to even comment on these videos anymore sir? 😆
Sir, I was young and foolish.
