Absolutely love the 92xi’s I think Beretta hit a home run with this series. I always been a fan of the 92s. The way they shot, the low recoil, looks etc but I was always more of a striker fired shooter so I didn’t shoot the DA/SA guns as much. I picked up the 92xi and I’m in love with it. It’s easily my favorite gun right now and I’ve shot staccatos and other 2011s. I think with some extras, it’s right up there with them for a much lower price but the quality, reliability and Beretta name is still there. Can’t go wrong
I think it’s a fantastic option compared to other higher priced 2011s. I think you’d get more from spending the rest on training and ammo
The Beretta 92x DA/SA was one of my hardware for production division I got from langdon tactical with their phenomenal trigger job. It was buttery smooth on the recoil. With its aluminum frame, It was a little light for me compared to my Rex Alpha. Now that I'm planning to get one for LO, I just wish some companies will come out with a brass grip for the 92XI... With a brass grip & a tungsten guide rod, will surely bring this work of art to a different level...
Totally get it. So Beretta does sell a Tungsten guide rod. I used one for my standard XI. Also, Lok grips has told me they are in works to make brass grips for the vertec models.. especially if people keep bugging them about it! Lastly, you can get the brass grips they currently sell and cut them to fit the XI models.
11:06 @@Steadfast_Collective Thanks for the good news RE brass grips. This will surely make me drop my idea on getting a Walther PDP steel frame as one of my LO option... More power to you & your Chanel!
The M9/92 series are surprisingly easy and comfortable to carry. The dimensions seem to work well with my body size and shape. Very satisfied with the overall feel of the gun for carry.
Agreed! I’ve never had a problem carrying one 🙏🏻
Best intro ever! One note, to be legal in IDPA you would need to swap in a "stock" mag release. Extended not allowed.
Thanks Ben! Even if the mag release comes stock?
Based on the latest rulebook it should be fine as is
Good to know! @@josipbroz3866
@@josipbroz3866 I guess I didn't realize they had fixed that rule. Excellent!
I haven't seen a review of the Beretta XI SAO tactical anywhere on RUclips...
I will see what I can do 🙌🏼
Your modeling video made me get the Squalo…
Lol 😂 I’m glad I could help
Big fan of Beretta, looks like a great addition to the collection. Good informative vid. any idea on MSRP.
MSRP is $1299 but I’m assuming you can find them cheaper retail!
Just bought it yesterday, beautiful piece. Im going to carry it because why not right?
Awesome video thank you.
I hope you enjoy it sir! Be sure to register for warranty!
@@Steadfast_Collective yessir , thank you!
I just ran 300 through her before the night's end man she's a nice machine.
How much?
@@lionelroland6674 more than I'd like to spend , but $1263.
Nice review & nice gun!
I love the new grip shape and safety, but I'm not a fan of the forward cocking serrations (I feel like putting your hand anywhere near the barrel is a recipe for disaster), the light rail (I don't use lights or anything like that and I worry the underside is going to catch on the holster on a draw) or the optics cut (I prefer traditional sights I don't use optics and I don't want them) It's a pity they don't make a version without all that.
Been hearing about this first review I have seen on it. You knocked it out of the park know I have to decide whether to get this a LTT or a xi
Thank you! Both are great options. You can convert the XI to DA/SA if that is what you are looking for
👍 Beretta fan 👍
I just bought this today love the grip design
Dude congrats!! I think you’ll love it. Make sure to register it for warranty and give me a shout out if you do! Hit me up on Instagram if you have any questions 🙌🏼
How much?
Great review!
I love the gun very much and may even buy one. My only other comment is the aggressive grips after shooting a ton sometimes can be a little hard on your hands. Also a question for you is it a Crowned Barrel??? One last question if a guy was going to use it strictly for "CARRY" does it make much difference if you go with the standard XI over the Squalo XI ??? Maybe what Iam asking what sets the Squalo apart from the standard XI ??? Nice video and I just subscribed. What grips can you recommend that would be a little more "comfortable" to shoot???
I know what you mean about certain grips feeling like cheese graders… although these are aggressive they aren’t painful to shoot with. You can also take sand paper and lightly rub the grips to make them softer. The barrel is cut but not crowned. The main difference between the standard XI and the Squalo is: the grips, magwell, magazine release, magazine baseplates and the color.
If it’s strictly for carry the standard XI is a great option. And thanks for the subscribe!
Great video. Does the extended takedown lever gas pedal affect holster fitment? Asking from a more tactical standpoint, rather than competitive.
I haven’t seen it to be the case.. sometimes it can be a tight fit. However, if it has adjustable retention, you just have to loosen the screws
I love the XI, probably my favourite model yet. What is your preferred belt/ holster combo to carry it?
I use the Precision Holster from
precisionholsters.com/ and a Double Alpha competition belt. For conceal carry I use the JM Custom IWB holster
I want that magwell. I'm on my way to look it up now ...
Made by Toni Systems 👍🏼
Love the content!
Thank you! 🙏 more videos to come!
I just bought the Squalo because of your review. What base pads are you using to fit the magwell and the idpa box?
Fantastic to hear! The gun with the magwell fits in the box! You will need to get different basepads. I used the Toni Systems +0 basepads for IDPA Worlds with no issues. Hit up my teammate Ben Hardt he may have a promo code!
Be sure to warranty it! Extends the warranty 2 years and Id appreciate if you put my name down as team member who influenced the purchase when you do! Let me know if you have any other questions and enjoy!

I already registered and don’t remember seeing anywhere to put a name down for credit. Your review really did help me though. Thanks.
Sweet gun 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Can Langdon tactical llc modify Beretta 92s that have the optic cut from the factory? I dont like Beretta's optic cut it sits the red dot too high on the gun.
I believe he can. He sells this model on the website. Also have you spent a lot of time on this optic set up? I found it makes little difference for me.
Is it comfortable to ride the safety while shooting like one would do with a 1911/2011?
Do you prefer the Squalo platform to the 92X Performance? Looking at LTT options for both at the moment.
Hard to say for sure..I think both are great options. I really like the Squalo for IDPA with a ported barrel. This one is going to be a lot more versatile. The 92x performance is just too heavy to carry
Love the vid man! Use your influencer ability to get hogue to offer those grips seperately, my 92x performance needs some traction 😅
LOL I’ll definitely see what I can do my man 🙏
@@Steadfast_Collective blessed 🙏
great review. can you recommend a 92xi holster? both iwb and owb
I highly recommend the holsters from Precision Holsters for OWB. Mostly because they fit every model of 92 I own. I use the JM Custom AWIB for conceal carry
What are some good holsters that will fit this for everyday carry and competition?
I use Precision Holsters for competition and JM Custom for everyday carry
Beautiful piece, I have a 92x RDO Compact, what sights come standard on the 92XI Squalo?
It’s a fiber optic front post and a blacked out rear notch 👍🏼
@@Steadfast_Collective Thank you!
Where can I find this to buy? This iteration of the 92 looks amazing!
Online retailers would be your best bet if you don’t have a store that carries one local 🙏
Thanks! Also, great review I enjoyed the video!
@@seamusmcshizweak thank you sir! That means a lot 🙏
Soo I bought it, it’s amazing, but I can’t find any holders for it other than competition holsters.. any suggestions?
Does this model out on the market yet? I think this will be a better option for the 92x performance. I went to this gunstore here in Philippines & had the chance to hold & feel the 92x .. it was a really beautiful piece but it’s too heavy.
It is released in the U.S. I am not sure about the Philippines at this time. It should be very soon if not!
Do you have any holster or magwell attachments that are compatible with the 92XI
I use a company called precision holsters and it fits all my 92’s
Anyone suggest holster options for the Squalo? IWB or AIWB options. Thanks.
I use Precision Holsters for my OWB competition use. I like this holster because it literally fits every single one of my 92's except for my open gun.
IWB I use JM Custom!
Would like to see a slow fire grouping
For barrel accuracy?
Can you seat a non extended mag in the gun with the mag well installed?
Only if you have the Toni Systems baseplates or a different brand that works. The standard Beretta ones will not.
would this work for home defense?
Certainly
Do you think it’s in the same league as an Ltt beretta?
They are both great for different reasons. I put the LTT trigger bar in this Squalo and now it’s perfect 👍🏼
hey my brotha n fellow patriot , i am a new sub for ya here n i am a u.s. marine vet here 93' to 97' active ! n only have email here , def. wanna talk more n LOVE talking armaent n 2A here allday , will always support you , 1 million % , thanks n talk soon > tom !
I really dig the newer 92's with the frame-mounted safety, but I don't understand why they don't just put the optic mount on the fixed barrel. It's one of the strengths of a fixed barrel design and offers benefits. Taurus does it, so why doesn't Beretta? T_T
The gun you are referring to is a rimfire… doing that would not make it legal in most divisions
@Steadfast_Collective Yeah...guess I should've used the Maxim 9 or something instead, huh? :D
You're right, though. I didn't think about competition marketing being such a huge deal right now. I just really want that functionality on a schmexy pistol. T_T
What gr / ammo do you use for competition??
I use 124g 9mm that I personally load. I have tried 115 and 147 and have found 124 works the best for me
Do you use factory recoil spring? 13 pounds.?
I use a 9lb spring @@MrBennyUtube
Will a stock threaded barrel handle major power factor?
I have seen it done but I would recommend going with an aftermarket company that makes barrels specific for Beretta platforms. I used Jarvis Custom for mine 👍🏼
@@Steadfast_Collective been thinking of Jarvis. Cause they use a harder metal I looked at both metal materials. That’s awesome that it has been done. I’m shooting open minor atm
@@waldosproject7823 Jarvis assured me that their barrels could handle 9 major no problem. I will say the locking block will probably have to be replaced every 5-10k rounds. But I haven’t hit that mark with major so I don’t know for sure
