    Can you use a scene from the TF series with the Dm3? Are they interchangeable?

    @idjnow - would be great to have a little more information about the FX of this mixer and how FX are configured. Especially for those of us who don't know much about digital mixers. Can every channel use a different effect or effects? Thanks!

      Hello Jeff,
      if you look up yamaha TF series mixers on youtube theres an entire video series going over the mixer in detail and section by section all done by yamaha.
      Thx

    I was excited when I first saw this mixer, thinking it would be an upgrade to TF series. But with only two effects engines it's very limited for live sound use, also no DCAs. Feels like this piece of gear is stretched a little thin trying to cover too many bases.

      Hello Howard,
      its good for most applications however what you are asking for perhaps the new DM7 may be best for what you need.

      @@idjnow-gear-up That's a $14,000 mixer, I just wanted was a couple more FX engines and maybe a DCA or two for live sound work.

      I agree, I was looking at the DM3 for my small drum home studio. But based on specs the "older" TF1 looks more like an upgrade than the DM3 in spite of being older and not having 96K capable AD/DA. I like the form factor better on the DM3 but only 4 combo Jacks, just two effects, less I/O over USB (half of the TF1) and less physical outputs at the same price seems like a "downgrade"

    I have a question tf1 or dm3? What better?

    • @idjnow-gear-up
      @idjnow-gear-up  Год назад +1

      Hello @Gregory Manov,
      as far as the effects engine and the workflow is all the same, However the dm3 to TF1 is the size and fader accessibility and fader label display, however the dm3 has a layer button to access the other 8 channels. both come with the option for Dante but for the dm3 you have to choose which on you want before you purchase. Unlike the TF series you can add that danter card after. Hope this helps.
      Thx

      And TF1 is 48kHz, while DM3 allows 96kHz operation. I will not use it since I have an older TIO1608, but young this regard DM3 is superior.

    • @JorgeParagliding
      @JorgeParagliding 9 месяцев назад

      I have that same dilemma. I wish they would have done 16 combo jacks like the TF1 instead of just 4 on the DM3 and at least the same I/O over USB that the TF1 has (34 I/O vs 18 I/O). I like the form factor on the DM3 quite a bit for my small drum home studio but now with the Yamaha sale both boards cost the same which makes the DM3 a let down...

    It now makes sense to me why they discontinued the MGP series because it has almost everything that this has to some extent in analogue. You would expect more than two effects engines just not good enough.
    That being said the clarity on this mixer is awesome. I got to try it last week and was impressed. Just thought the fx section was a bit of a disappointment.
    I feel if behringer built the airXR series in a console format, they would put this yamaha D3 to shame and i bet the price would be a lot cheaper

    • @idjnow-gear-up
      @idjnow-gear-up  6 месяцев назад

      true but for the price i cant complain myself since this mixer does have great clarity user friendly for consumers from analog to digital However you can alway climb to the next series which is alot more and offer alot more as well. But for the price what it offers over all is a good choice. The FX yes i agree it could have been a bit more flexible but im still trying to find a work around.
      Thx for the response and support!

      Hi @meddjsushant , You can easily turn it off from the Power switch located on the back of the DM3 which is located next to the power input.

    HEY YAMAHA! GIVE ME FEEDBACK SUPPRESSION!
    I'm using a A&H CQ18T now. I came from a QSC TM16. Both of them have lousy microphone preamps. The CQ is better but not by much. What I do like about both the TM and the CQ is the feedback suppression feature. The DM3 doesn't have this and I can't understand that. I've heard recordings made with the DM3 and it blows the TM and the CQ away.
    So with the CQ I get a good live show with no feedback but then I get an unacceptable recording to mix. If Yamaha can give me feedback suppression I know what I'm going to do. But unless that happens, I'm staying with the CQ.

    You can't use Dante on the DM3, as shown in this video. The DM3-D has the Dante interface...is this not true? Are you saying a stage box can be used with the cheaper DM3. If you can use the stage box with the DM3, what is the advantage of the more expensive DM3-D?

    • @idjnow-gear-up
      @idjnow-gear-up  11 месяцев назад

      hello @ashleymadison9380,
      you can use the TIO1608 with the DM3-D version only, the DM3 (non-dante) will not work. only way you can use a stage box would be an analog source type of stage box for the DM3 version.
      thnx

      @@idjnow-gear-up Ok, in your video it sounded as tough you were suggesting the digital stage box could be used on the version you were showing, which wasn't the D. Just wanted to clarify. I can't find anyone with one of these in stock anyway, so I will likely have to go a different direction. - Thanks.
