This card is definitely a politic heavy card. You can kinda negotiate with people a I don’t hit you, you don’t hit me ordeal to prevent certain players from trying to eliminate you.
Yes and no... It's too easy to be backstabbed when the counters reach 9. Having any open player at the table is a liability for everyone since it only takes one unblockable hit to take you out
@Nick but hes not about to win, hes only going to eliminate a single player, and hes already made a deal not to eliminate you first. that was literally the entire point of this scenario, that you made a deal not to attack the guy with stadium, or even to help him, in exchange for not being eliminated by an attack. its just like when i run mirrodin besieged and someone offers to pop all my artifacts for me as long as i dont make them lose the game.
If you hit each player with 10 creatures (30 total creatures) you can order triggers such that you make each player lose the game in sequence since all the damage happens simultaneously
I think it is indeed possible to defeat all three opponents at once, because it looks like it hits the stack for each individual creature that deals combat damage, all those triggers hit the stack, and then each one adds a counter, checks if it has 10, if so removes them, and then the loop continues. Theoretically if you have thirty creatures and they all connect, 10 for each opponent, it should be possible to kill them all in the same combat
you can just hit one player with a lot of creatures and the other(s) with 1 each. will win the same way, just need to stack the triggers correctly, doesn't need to be 10 for one opponent.
@@ScorpioneOrzion That's not true unfortunately, as you remove all counters as part of the resolution of the "lose the game" ability, so you do need a total of 10 hits per opponent. The minimum number of creatures you need is 10x+1, where x is the number of opponents you have, and there are already 9 counters on the Stadium (assuming it's already tapped)
@@HalcyonVentures it does work like that, because, so lets say you have 3 opponents, opponent 1 gets hit by 28, opponent 2 and 3 get hit by 1 creature each. I stack the triggers like this. Im putting it in my Mob Boss deck. The image in my head is a horde of goblins storming the field and halting the game, in effect "winning" the game in their own weird goblin way.
Tawnos, Urza's apprentice might like this card. It reads: Haste {r}{u}{t}: whenever an activated or triggered ability of an artifact you control is triggered and it isn't a Mana ability, it triggers an additional time.
Honestly, I think it’d be fun to have a game of Commander where each player starts with a Strixhaven Stadium that can’t be removed and are all playing a Strixhaven commander from different academies!
There's also Kangee, Aerie Keeper. Kangee doesn't interact explicitly with the stadium, nor does bird tribal necessarily, but Kangee synergizes insanely well with Proliferate already due to the feather counters he uses. On the other hand, I'm probably not going to run it in Kangee, because I'm averse to incentivising my opponents to attack me. Some other Kangee deck might pick it up, though. And Kangee bird tribal is actually surprisingly effective.
Everyone is always quick to mention Atraxa, but Pir + Toothy could straight up win on the spot with this (once you get through combat). If you already have Pir out and a creature that gives your +1/+1 counter based board either unblockable or flying, you can drop this before combat and EACH creature who connects will give this thing two counters. The problem with Atraxa is that proliferate only adds one extra counter, so your opponents would have PLENTY of time to deal with this, at least one full rotation of the table.
You can take out 3 players at once. But it's not easy and it's definitely a commander achievement if you do. The Ability that puts points on the Arena is a "Whenever a" type of trigger. Hardest Version is the stadium has no points when you make your attack. In this scenario, you will need to attack with at least 30 creatures . They will be attacking in 3 sets. Each Set needs 10 creatures to do combat damage to the player it is attacking. If you have any points on the Arena, then the first set doesn't need as many creatures in it. When each creature hits, you will stack the combat damage triggers. Order them so Set 1 hits Player 1. The last creature in the set puts the 10th point on the Arena, which will then trigger the "Then if, player loses the game". Stack the triggers for Set 2 for Player2, and finally stack the triggers for Set 3 for Player3. Haste is your friend. And so is Crashing Drawbridge. :)
Yes, you can knock out 3 opponents in the same turn. If you attack with 30 creatures (10 for each opponent), all the triggers from Strixhaven Stadium will go on the stack. You just have to organize the stack in a way that the 10 triggers from a player are back to back. Since Strixhaven Stadium checks if you have 10 points or more for each trigger, the first 10 triggers will go off and kill one player, to so one and so forth.
Sai Master Thopterist has so many ways to get this card to work either hitting with all those thopters or getting to untap with voltaic key and other stuff mentioned in this video
You could theoretically take out multiple opponents with this. It would just require that you hit each player with a lot of creatures all at once. Each creature dealing combat damage gives a trigger that starts off by putting a single counter on the stadium. Then, the player hit loses if there are ten or more counters and the counters are removed. However, any triggers still remaining on the stack would continue to give more counters afterwards, even if they were triggered by a creature hitting an opponent that's already lost. So, if you hit each player with exactly ten creatures each, you would get exactly enough counters to make each opponent lose the game on the same turn.
You can also copy the stadium itself since it isn't legendary. This would apply a lot more pressure from them AND if you get multiple stadiums to trigger at the same time for different players then you can aim a stadium trigger at each of them for multikills
Ok, how’s this? Strixhaven stadium, Nyxbloom Ancient, and an Isochron Scepter imprinting Dramatic Reversal are on the field. Tap Stadium, add a counter and float 3 cuz of Ancient. Spend 2, cast the Dramatic copied under Isochron. Untap the stadium. Repeat infinitely. Infinite colorless mana and infinite counters on stadium. Not the simplest combo I’ve seen but worth looking into. Nyxbloom was the first to come to mind but all you need to run this infinitely is a way to make Stadium tap for 3 or more colorless at a time.
Akim does bring something up: Hitting multiple players with double-strike. Say I attack with 10 tokens with double-strike against two players. Send 9 at 1 and 1 at the other. First strike puts me to 10 counters, I kill the player I hit with 1 creature. Normal damage nets me 9, but I tap the Stadium before normal damage, and now have another 10 counters, and kill player 2.
Yes you can, all you have to do is hit with different creatures to different players during the turn where the stadium has 10 point counters on it. The artifact doesn't state it's only one player per trigger.
My first thought here is that of the black enchantment that wins the game if you have ten(?) treasures: you might win, but it's more of a lightning rod for removal that distracts people from what your real plans are.
The wording on the card would indicate anyone that gets hit while the stadium gains, or has, 10+ counters on it would lose. It doesn't specify "Target opponent that was dealt damage this turn" or wording that would limit it to one opponent. More importantly, the way its worded means there is no way to respond to the ability once it starts resolving. Each trigger of the ability can be responded to while on the stack, but you'd have to counter them all at once or one (if you have 9 or more counters on it already) would be enough to end the game.
Okay here's what you do. Step one have march of the machines, the stadium, mycosynth lattice or any other way of filtering one colorless Mana into blue, as many unlockable creatures as opponents, and freed from the reel
I think if you can attack each opponent with exactly ten creatures you can win the game, each 'whenever a creature you control deals combat damage' is its own trigger, so you'll remove ten counters before the next counter is added.
You can take out all opponents at once. Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter with a Sol Ring in response to each trigger for each creature hitting each opponent.
My pheldagriff deck needed this card and I never evenin a million years thought that a wood condition would be printed that would be perfect for a Hippo prison deck.
This with a swarm of 19 or more creatures that can get through with first strike/ double strike anthem play can take 2 players out. First strike goes through killing one player, resets, then normal strike will build it back up and take out second player
isochron scepter + dramatic reversal + strixhaven stadium = unlimited counters As long as you can connect with a creature on all three players you win. Seems balanced compared to some other instant win cards.
The trigger puts on a counter and then checks, and each trigger will resolve individually for each creature that hits. So you could kill all your opponents if you can hit each of them with 10 creatures.
you can take out all opponents at once, it triggers for each creature once, so you only need 3 creatures hitting each 1 different opponent and 27 other creatures hitting any opponent to kill them all at once
A really nice way to kill with this is in a Kwende aggro deck. You just play white weanies with first strike and if you gave Kwende and 4 other creatures, which is really easy, you can play strixhaven stadium and no one will ever see it coming. Its like triumph of the hordes for white for 2 less mana, if you think about it.
This would be great in an Edric deck full of 1 drops with evasion of some sort. Or budget tokens with Yawgmoth and his proliferate ability. Or Xyris. Lots of good places to slot this card. And now I see the Edric part of the video, lol. Spoke too soon
Why not Alela? You can have a LOT of Fairies with her, and there are artifacts for everything. You can even have Crawlspace to reduce the number of attackers.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet. But Red just got a "Can have any number in the deck" kind of card, and its common. It's either "Approach of the Dragon" or "Dragon's Approach"
Not actually sure if this will work but build a deck that gains counters on creatures. you need karn the great creator and the ozolith, if the ozolith has counters on it before combat use karn to change it to a creature and add counters to it. Also could have animation module, and Karns bastion to proliferate. Not sure if counters ( power/strength) would convert to point counters when placed on stadium?
You could definitely kill multiple opponents in one combat phase, double strike would double up the counters and each instance of the trigger would be seperate.
A fun multiplayer game could be had by having everyone starting with one of these on the field.
It really feels like a Yu-Gi-Oh field spell.
That would actually give aggro decks a shot
Give one to everybody, make them indestructible, and anything that would destroy/bounce/exile them instead resets the counters to 0.

Nice
I'm sure you could take out all three with a veryyyy specific build around extra combats.
Veldalken orrery is going to get a lot scarier
Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive: the only deck I've seen with that was pillowfort as well.
Why not Alela? You can have a LOT of Fairies with her, and there are artifacts for everything. You can even have Crawlspace to reduce the number of attackers.
Sounds like questing beast turbo fog would love this.
Xyris the serpent wheel commander is missing that is where im planing to play this card
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet. But Red just got a "Can have any number in the deck" kind of card, and its common. It's either "Approach of the Dragon" or "Dragon's Approach"
*looks up card*
Ah. This was very important information. Thank you for alerting me to it. Now I need to make a deck with 30 of these.
you could strionic resonator the ability to kill 2 people. having both lithoform and strionic on the board at once, you can kill all 3
Darien, King of kjeldor also makes use of the middle line of text
I was just thinking about how nicely this is going to slip into my Darien deck
Seems like it would be great in the Elven Empire pre-con...
You are awesome mitch
This is going directly into my Tymna/Sidar deck
Quite obviously fog effects as well to prevent removal of counters
Straight in my shana, sisay legacy deck. Another win con for my tokens to strike for
Not actually sure if this will work but build a deck that gains counters on creatures. you need karn the great creator and the ozolith, if the ozolith has counters on it before combat use karn to change it to a creature and add counters to it. Also could have animation module, and Karns bastion to proliferate.
Not sure if counters ( power/strength) would convert to point counters when placed on stadium?
Looks like he didn't even consider "Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive".
Is there a card in this set with enough space left on it for flavor text? Alexander Clamilton getting some support in Strixhaven!
This is just a great little mini game card. Love it.
Tetsuko Umezawa would be a good commander because they makes all your small creatures unlockable.
A way to kill all is make sure you hit all opponents with the final blow
I have Strixhaven Stadium in my Krenko, Mob Boss commander deck. Still building it but do you think it's a good fit for the deck?
You could definitely kill multiple opponents in one combat phase, double strike would double up the counters and each instance of the trigger would be seperate.
