Rewatching this again after the Oscars snub, and just realizing how much the simple line from the TV repairman, "Everything's connected but nothing's working" ties into the movie's themes as a whole, and man this movie deserved so many awards.
Cinematography, score, and production design at a minimum. I didn’t love it, but on a technical level it’s masterful.
Yeah there’s no disentangling yourself from everything around you, especially the things you could have done better
It’s on the shortlist for Best Song at the Oscars, it doesn’t need to win but to see it performed at the show would be aqesome
The kid playing Dwight deserves some credit. He truly understood the assignment with this one.
I smiled so much the first time I saw this scene. Won't ever forget that feeling
Such a touching scene. These people were in a tense, uncertain set of circumstances. Everything everyone thought they knew about the universe has gone out the window. They didn't know what the future would bring, and they were stuck out in the middle of nowhere. And yet, the children were able to keep their spirits up and have a good ol' time.
This may just be one of my favorite movies
Same
i was not expecting to love it at all, but i loved it. have a feeling a decade or two from now it might be considered WA's masterpiece.
I found it incredibly dull and uber pretentious.🥱
@@RalphieMaysGhost I see that
im so obsessed with this scene
Is there any child from famous parents where you can see both mother and father so equally represented in their looks? I can see both Uma and Ethan so easily in Maya Hawke's face.
Everything's connected but nothing's working...
The parents just dumbfounded made me laugh out loud
Perfect comedy framing where all the parent’s heads are different sizes
The way this scene ends with Matt Dillion clapping had me dying. I rewound that at-least 4 times.
he understood the assignment. the open mouth, the rhythm of the clap.
With the parents watching from the TV, brilliant arrangement 🤣
At 1:34 June decides to just go with the flow!! lol
The way the rest of the cowboy band just appears behind her 😂
This movie will always make me laugh
This really was his best movie.
… have you watched fantastic mr fox?
@@spiidercider isle of dogs is way better than fantastic mr fox
@@eu_o_andy absolutely not
@@eu_o_andy isle of dogs got minus points for having yoko ono in it
This movie had a lot of what the actual frick scenes. This was one of them.
Wdym?
@@OfficialArkoMotions There was a lot of weirdness throughout the movie.
@@AlbertaRose94 Fair enough, and very true
Simplesmente o Seu Jorge faz parte da banda! Que cara sensacional, viva o Brasil!!
Esos pasos de Maya, perfección
Love it🧡
This was a cute and fun and hats in the air weird moment that got a genuine giggle from me the first time I saw it because it was so out of place and unabashedly corny. I'm kinda mixed about "Asteroid City" but it had its moments.
Best Wes Anderson movie
I love Jarvis Cocker
i love this movie so much lmao
Seu Jorge marcando presença
After watching the house that jack built, seeing Matt Dillon here is so strange 😂
Especially since half his scenes have Maya Hawke in them.
Good movie
So THIS is what Robin was doing before Stranger Things 5! Ironically funny.
Maya Hawke can dance 🥵
LMAOOOOOOOOO WHAT WAS THIS 😭😭😭
All this while trying to force the educators to tell the kids that the alien wasn’t real 👽 DARK HUMOR 😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Dwight would end up working at ILM by the 1980s.
So funny!
I didnt get the ending
You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
@@orenbernstein3277 tht made zero sense...n whts wid alien n asteroid n movie set...It jst bounce over my head...big fan of Wes Anderson like everyone else...but I didn't get the point
It was a movie about grieving “you can’t wake up” which means you cant get over something troubling you (grief, loss, disappointment, depression, etc.) “if you don’t fall asleep” meaning you cant get over something if you haven’t tried to get over it. I’m really bad at explaining it, but if you search it up there’s a subreddit that goes through more detail.
@@PlinkusSmoothie thnkz...I didn't get d closure from this movie
You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
The only scene I enjoyed in this movie. Brilliantly done and thoroughly enjoyable... pity I cannot say the same for the rest of this film.
