    I didn't hear any mention of Sound track. Many AI changes were included in release version. Well see how these work out. Amplitude is very comfortable supporting and improving every title they've ever released. This is simply the beginning of ES2.
    Pirates now wait fleets that are coming to their systems before moving to another system (depending on their mission)
    Added: Planet destruction mission
    Added: AI is now able to activate laws (knowing that it costs Influence points)
    Added: AI is now able to cancel laws to retrieve the empire points
    Added: AI is now able to trade technologies by diplomacy
    Added: AI now research military modules technologies
    Added: AI now play elections
    Added: AI is now able to attack enemies it finds on its mission path
    Added: AI is now able to propose alliances, map and vision sharing (if it has the tech)
    Added: AI now feedbacks more game events and takes into account more player actions (leeching, time bubbles, blockades, attacking civilians, Unfallen actions etc.)
    Changed: Globally improved the military attack, defense and invasion
    Changed: Improved the way AI uses support modules
    Changed: Increased AI desire for trade (in particularly for mercantile AIs)
    Changed: Improved map and vision sharing evaluation and open borders
    Changed: Improved main enemy selection
    Improved invasion behaviour
    Improved behaviour and technology choice for colonization
    Improved node strategic score heuristic
    Fixed: Issue where AI fleets were staying in hangar forever in some specific cases
    Fixed: AI colonization behavior
    Fixed: AI now doesn't cancel missions without any reasons.
    Fixed: Ark generation and leecher use are now working correctly
    Fixed: Issues for hull and affinities
    Fixed: AI now researches new military modules

      @4tech69: Love to see that they're actually working on the AI. That is not often the case with other games. The AI is an often overlooked part of a game and in my opinion well worth putting considerable effort into. Please keep us updated on what you think of the improvements, thanks!

    • @TheGamePRGuy
      @TheGamePRGuy  7 лет назад +1

      Glad they are working on it but I have played the release for a while now and these changes won't solve the core AI issues quite yet.

    • @DigitalHawk96
      @DigitalHawk96 7 лет назад +1

      AI has always been an issue in strategy games - you simply cannot compare to Human Opponents.
      And on that note. CIV 5 at the higher difficulties was extremely fun. But heck, the AI had to essentially cheat in order to be a challenge - with the extra city start, resources, armies and so on.
      But as always, there is no point relying on one review if it comes down to putting cash on the game. Especially if you have mentioned your Bias of Stellaris. Eheh. :>c

    • @4tech69
      @4tech69 7 лет назад +1

      DigitalHawk - Yep. That's actually how all game AI works . It cheats. "AI" is somewhat of a misnomer in the game industry and in general.

    One thing about amplitude is they tend to release a bunch of DLC for their games (which isn't a complaint, it's good they support them post launch). So I've found it's good to wait about a year after their game launches and then pick it up as a bundle with the DLC and at a discount.

    • @Ariranhaa
      @Ariranhaa 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, EE 1 I bought piece by piece, but EL I waited. I'll wait for an EE 2 pack.

    • @ShadowKueken
      @ShadowKueken 7 лет назад

      Jasta85 let's just mention real fast that these dlc don't cost more then 10 bucks and introduce whole new gameplay aspects as well as revamping stuff that wasn't liked by the community (games-to-gether) I'm still trying to get a proposal trough , for adding depth into ship hull development

    • @Jasta85
      @Jasta85 7 лет назад +1

      I said in my original post that it wasn't a complaint, I never said DLC was a bad thing. The reason I wait is so I can enjoy all the extra content, balances and bug fixes from the very beginning rather than wait a year or so.

    • @SirCanuckelhead
      @SirCanuckelhead 7 лет назад

      I think it was good of Shadow elaborated on the dlc. "DLC" is a trigger word and just mentioning it can turn people off as it should, some games are ruined by dlc. As Shadow said tho I love the way amplitude does it. Release a dlc with updates to the old game and add in new things for a small cost. A way to keep making money while working on the game that feel fair

    • @Ariranhaa
      @Ariranhaa 7 лет назад +1

      The only thing I think Amplitude (and all the game publishers, actually) should do is give a discount on the DLC for those who bought the game at launch. The way it is, someone who supported the devs since day one ends up paying much more for the whole package than the guy who got the game after 1,5 year or something. It simply isn't worth it for the "day 1" guys.

    They should have made the space and ground battles like those of the Total Ware series. That would have made this game a 10 out of 10.

    • @Ariranhaa
      @Ariranhaa 7 лет назад +19

      It would have been a groundbreaking game, but way too complex to be made. Total War battle mechanics are a game on it's own and has been created in the past, now they just refine it. Amplitude would have to design the battle mechanics from scratch, besides the whole exploration, randomness, planetary stuff and such, which is already far more complex than in Total War.

    • @joethesheep4675
      @joethesheep4675 4 года назад +2

      i have to strongly disagree. Total war is actually a really good example why blending campaignplay and rts isnt a good idea. I mean many ppl like total war so it probably is a good idea. I dont like it though because you end up having 2 halfbaked systems. In tw neither campaign nor rts gameplay is beyond ok. I much rather play just campaignmap or just rts and have it be really good. 😉
      Also it is much more realistic. Cuz if you are a general or admiral you can ofc plan out engagements beforehand. However, once the battle is roling there isnt a whole lot you can do. I definitly prefer the system ES2 has now over an added rts element.

    • @Ariranhaa
      @Ariranhaa 4 года назад

      @@joethesheep4675 It depends on what TW you're talking about, man. Of course, if someone doesn't like the style or the setting, it won't be an enjoyable game, but there are good and bad TW. That said, I've been playing strategy games on PC since 1999 and Total War: Warhammer is the best thing I've seen so far as a whole.
      I like some other 4x too, for example Endless Space 1 and 2, and they're better then TW:WH in some aspects, no doubt, but as a whole this specific TW title is at another level. It's massive (and will be even more when the 3rd part comes out in 2021), the dozens of factions are completely different, each region of the mega map has it's importance, it is defying even in the very late game and on top of all that, some battles are so thrilling that I still remember how/why I've won or lost it years after I've played them.
      Granted, it's not a perfect game, there are many things the fanbase agree that could be completely reworked (and some will be when part 3 comes out according to the devs), but it's the best thing out there right now regarding strategy games on PC.

While Stellaris wants do be endlessly replayable etc the lore is just not there properly, this seems to have much more of an RPG side to it. Glad I didn't pick this up during EA and will be buying it now.

    Sigh, when we'll have a decent AI in a strategy game?

    • @NyangisKhan
      @NyangisKhan 7 лет назад +9

      when the i63 cpu gets released in the year 2030. Because the absolute best form of AI that can compete with a human in the game of chess used 100% of a cpu that is 10 times worse than our current i7s. And keep in mind that most games actually use a lot of CPU power even WITHOUT AI. And 4X games are more complex and has a lot of systems that can be exploited. And every possible way an AI can defeat a player will probably increase the load on the CPU for at least 2 times. Meaning a 4X game which has a lot of different kinds of victories and that has features like tec, culture/unity or w/e heck its called in other games and even the freaking battle system is complex due to all the units and their special attributes. And don't forget about all the freaking different resources that can shift the game's balance. And in a 4X game you have to know WHEN to expand to win against an experienced player. So I'd say a normal 4X game is AT LEAST 2^5 harder on the CPU. And don't forget the guy who actually made the freaking chess AI is almost a genius. But what I'm talking about is the Bruteforce way. To make an efficient AI for a 4X game would also require 2^5 times the amount of brainpower. The budget for the AI itself is going to cost more than a few dozen AAA games because you'd be hiring some expensive fucks to work on the AI haha.

    • @Jimmious
      @Jimmious 7 лет назад +6

      Same argument all the time. He didn't say "when will we have an AI that can consistently beat human players" but when will we have a DECENT AI.
      And there are games that did have it. Play Battle Brothers for a recent one that is definitely decent.
      What is really weird for me is that the AI in Endless Space 2 should have been a bit easier to improve since combat is basically non existent. But still, no.

      I found the AI on supreme commander and supreme commander 2 was a bitch, it learned what tactics you always repeat and counter it,forcing you to change your style several times throughout the game. Also the pitiful AI enemy fleets they send at you are laughable, it's such a weak AI it starts to get really boring real fast when you roflstomp the enemy,even on endless difficulty The AI are not a threat.

    What level is best to start at ?I am familiar with 4x but no way a pro.You stated the ai doesn't know how to play certain areas of the game,isn't that the developers fault since they program the ai,and one would think the devs know their own game so it doesn't make sense unless the ai is basically like a dice roll and what happens is completely random.

    So the difficulty level isnt to demanding? I wonder if its a good thing.. Endless Space was so hard that i couldnt win any battle in the end game vs glass ships of Harmony.. They just had tons and tons of everything on their ships and even 11 cruisers or 5 dreadnoughts fully upgraded to no matter what couldnt even graze them... My 11 cruisers barely managed to defeat 1 of their ships themselves losing 1... I dont know whats with the ai in that game but it was mind boggling...

      Man, I actually find the battles in EL more boring. They tried to make something like Age of Wonders, but didn't quite nailed it. They intended to be sophisticated with all the specs, the items, the different troops and all, but it's shallow when you play it. On the other hand, EL battles are what they intended to be, a simple decision-making battle. I ended up battling on the auto more in EL than in EE1, curiously.

    @ 2mins I still have no idea what this game is about. Also alittle too much personal observations. Just tell me what the game is about ffs. You babble too much.

    Youre slinging around alot of terms from the game, that the average first time consumer does not understand. Horrible review.

    I found it to be Too complicated. Will be gig a refund and focusing my money on civ. Civ has a bit of micro but nowhere as much as this game.

    Destiny 2 is not Halo, it was never made to be like Halo and it will never be Halo. Destiny 2 is more akin to WoW but with guns. The single player is supposed to be easy and the game doesn't get stared until you play the end game content. Sure maybe you like Halo over WoW but lets at least make some fair comparisons.

      "The game doesn't get started till you reach the end game content." good meme, there is no end game content, that's why it's trash.
