+Should I Get It it's definitely a looker! And now I have tested the 2017 Porsche Boxster 718... they are not in the same category, but with some more HP and some suspension tweeks the Miata will be a good contender!
Unsure about this. Think maybe the old version hardtop looks nicer with the roof down. This is more a 458 style convertible and I never feel that much in the open air when I'm driving that
Now this is what I'm talking about! I'm not a big fan of convertibles but this, this is very nice. Maybe someday down the roads, I might get one. Don't really want to trade my Lexus rc350 for one lol.
+ligitinmate im 6'0". I had not problem fitting in the car. I suggest you to go to the dealer and check it out, you might be surprised on how big the cabin is!
Being a 00' Honda S2000 owner, it is difficult for me to admit that I would love to have a 2017 MX-5. But damn, the 2017 Miata looks amazing! Although the S2000 has more power, the Miata's weight reduction would be a blast to drive. I would buy the 2017 MX-5 over the BRZ or FRS.
Less Talk, More Delicious It's priced to sell! The average car purchase in 2016 in the USA is $34,000.00 Mazda has done everything to keep the Miata right under the national sales average. In my opinion they should bring the stripped down 1.5L that they are selling in Europe and Japan to attract the young buyers and place it right on $20k. That would work with the average worker in America.
Jacob Smith im 6 feet tall, and as you see on the video I have like 1.5" off the roof. I am going to test drive one in about 2 weeks, after they deliver the pre-ordered ones. The video doesn't do justice to how the car looks in person, straight GORGEOUS! You will be pleased!
Khalid Ansari we got to be patient. I believe that they will bring it in the near future! Those are marketing strategies to keep selling the car for years to come, like face lift, etc!
Ryan Frizell review of the RF in motion... Sadly those two are sold. But this next week, they are going to have another one for a "test drive" video and comparison with the soft top Miata ND.
At 35 Grand it's a hard sell for me. For 5 grand more you could buy a 2014 Stingray w/ that great LS V8 engine. If you don't mind shopping used it's a much better option. Obviously very different cars but that's what I did.
both are great options but i dont look at just the purchase price of a vehicle. also consider insurance and gas costs. although the corvette has great mpg. how much insurance are you paying for the corvette if you dont mind me asking.
tbh i think they would be more or less the same amount to ensure. both are technically considered in the same class as they are two seat "roadsters"/"sportscars" it costs me exactly the same to insure both my 2014 corolla and my 2013 BRZ. you can make the same argument that they're different cars but when it came down to it, the price to insure was the same for me.
David Gaddy the BRZ it's a bullet, but this Miata it has the looks and also it's pretty quick, especially the Club Edition! I can't wait to get to drive the RF Club Edition!
The BRZ is a cool looking car, but it's rather slow for its 200 hp. The MX-5 ND with the 160 hp engine is quicker from 0-100 km/h (or 0-60 for you :)) and generally more fun to drive due to its low weight and weight distribution. It's overall the better car, if you don't need it for regular long journeys or trips to IKEA :)
After test driving manual transmissions in Mazda mx-5 club and touring, Fiat 124 Abarth and Lusso, Porsche Cayman, Nissan 370Z, Toyota 86, Mustang V8, Camaro 4 turbo, Camaro V6, Camaro V8, Corvette, I purchased a 2017 Corvette. The Mazda mx-5 manual transmission is unreliable (go to Mazda website for TSB on mazda mx-5). I bought a red 2017 Corvette 1LT manual transmission with performance exhaust, black wheels, red calipers, red seats, carbon badge package.
The main reason for the success of the Miata is that it is the most affordable sport car for the masses. The back up camera should not impact the costs of manufacturing the car, which I agree that for $30K plus its a must have. I believe that they will come with it as a standard feature soon. Thanks for the observation and the support! Oz
Don Jacobs it is very small, however I own a Miata 1996 and it was my only car for over a year while I was stationed in Germany. Not the most practical vehicle to drive in the snow, but it will work as a primary car if you have are a single guy, a young couple or a couple who feels young! 😃 Sport cars are toys... But Mazda have solved the problem with the best driving cars on their lineup!
Oz atCAMS hey, my last comment was referring to mrpmj00 and his desire for a backup camera. That said the Miata is what I hope to get someday. It would be a great car to mess round and enjoy driving in. I love my current car but it's not very sporty and prioritizes utility. The Miata would be a daily driver with my current car reserved for loads, people, and winter.
Salesman should check his info cause the black roof will be available on the GT version. Oh and the less then 10 sec is also bs. Mazda says 13 sec. Just saying.
No, the black roof is only available on the LE. Black roof is available on normal GT versions only in Canada. This information can be found on MazdaUSA.com
maxime chabot trepanier it may sound crazy, but when you see how quick the roof folds and unfolds it so cool that you won't care much about how much time it takes to operate. In my opinion the black roof it's a gimmick, that still look really cool. But my favorite color combination is the White Pearl exterior with the Chocolate/Black interior... But it's not available yet!
Oz atCAMS Auburn interior is only available on the LE, and will only be available on the LE. Maybe next year or the year after, they will open it up to all models.
Oz atCAMS 2016 soft top ND Launch Edition was Soul Red with exclusive tan/beige interior, while 2017 now allows for tan interior, so I believe they'll do the same with the RF in the following years.
, don't knock the auto it will out shift any 6 speed manual any day ( note all rally cars and formula one use peddle shift autos) because there faster to shift ever see a manual dragster NO i have the NC RS and this model RF ln limited edition ( a launch edition) in auto believe me after a life time of shifting gears its nice to drop in to sports mode and beat the hell out of corners also own a lotus Elise and the RF will out handle her
+Should I Get It, its a shame that many people are not learning how to drive the manual transmission. Manuals are in extinction, specially with the autonomous cars soon to be the norm!😞
I love the ND and this is my dream next car. Such a sexy look, just gotta wait for more colors to arrive at the dealer.
+Should I Get It the white pearl its a looker! Simply gorgeous...
+Should I Get It it's definitely a looker! And now I have tested the 2017 Porsche Boxster 718... they are not in the same category, but with some more HP and some suspension tweeks the Miata will be a good contender!
Such a good looking car! I wonder if it'll be available with LSD too (like the Club model)
Less Talk, More Delicious
the Club Sport Edition it's going to be available soon!
Oz atCAMS ..nice!!
Unsure about this. Think maybe the old version hardtop looks nicer with the roof down. This is more a 458 style convertible and I never feel that much in the open air when I'm driving that
+alanlovedog its just a different fllair with this roof! I like them both!
You said OPEN ROOF!!!!! Love it.
I just found out that another channel copied this video and posted it as original!!! Not fun at all...
Now this is what I'm talking about! I'm not a big fan of convertibles but this, this is very nice. Maybe someday down the roads, I might get one. Don't really want to trade my Lexus rc350 for one lol.
+loveever89 don't trade such a beautiful machine! Just pay it off and add a Mists to your fleet! You will love it!
Thanks for the video, car looks amazing.
I am looking forward to have it for a test drive!
Just curious how tall are you?
I'm 6'3 and tend to be cramped up in my 2009 Miata with the top up.
+ligitinmate im 6'0". I had not problem fitting in the car. I suggest you to go to the dealer and check it out, you might be surprised on how big the cabin is!

What was the price on the sticker?
The MSRP is $35,500 for the automatic and $34,500 for the manual...
Oz atCAMS ..nice!! I thought it might end up being $40k. Good to hear it's at least under $35k! Still a bit pricey, but not too bad I guess.

May I ask how tall are you? Is it really for tall guys?
+Nacho Mar 6 feet flat!
cant wait to get this
Toyo Masauce man you should wait until the other colors role out! I just saw it on white pearl, it's gorgeous!

It would look good with a glass roof.
courtney Vegan that would be the next best thing that can happen to this beautiful machine! Great suggestion!

I picked up mine last night :)
That's awesome, you will love it! Enjoy it!
How much is it??
+김홍익 $34,000
gorgeous !
+Carlitox b thats the best adjective for this car!
you didn't drive the car, how is this a review?

I think that its a good compromise to go for a used Stingray! However, if you a person wants a new exclisive car, the Miata its the best option on 35.
+monsiuer smartypants iindeed! Its not just payinngvfor the car! Its the extra costs what makes it a good purchase or not!
That is a very nice looking car.
Robert William thank you! The test drive is going to follow soon!
Great video surprised the hell out I'm trading in my Subaru BRZ for one of those

Skip to 4:50 to see the top go down.
Wow, didn't know the RF was out already?!

mrpmj00 it's such a small car though, honestly even if you had it, it would be more of a luxury or convenience than actually being safety feature.
Don Jacobs it is very small, however I own a Miata 1996 and it was my only car for over a year while I was stationed in Germany. Not the most practical vehicle to drive in the snow, but it will work as a primary car if you have are a single guy, a young couple or a couple who feels young! 😃

I noticed that I replied to the wrong comment! 😅😅😅 I apologize!
Shame Mazda has kept that tacky add-on trunk mounted brake light unit - just to save money on re-moulding the bodywork.
W Trolleybus i think it's a good suggestion!

Isn't she loving it? I am a super fan of it!
@@OzatCAMS Yeah, its not the fastest car I've been in but definitely the rarest!
, don't knock the auto it will out shift any 6 speed manual any day (

You should not be allowed to order this car in automatic. Terrible!
THANK YOU! I cry every time I see a Miata with only 2 pedals, terrible indeed!
+Fluterra indeed! However, that's why more people can enjoy the Miata! The most Miatas are sold in automatic!
+Should I Get It, its a shame that many people are not learning how to drive the manual transmission. Manuals are in extinction, specially with the autonomous cars soon to be the norm!😞
most in the US, where majority has no fucking car culture, buying an automatic ND is a crime
It's a shame, isn't it!?!?
they need to stick the 2.5 under the hood.the 2.0 is under powered.
It really isn't... I have a 2016 ND Sport and it's plenty powerful... Lots and lots of torque...
Mazda are nice, but not exclusive nice..
+AlfaEricWashDC that's what makes the MX5 special! We all can own one!
BMW Z4 & Nisan Z1 = Mazda x5 😂
+MiraNo ahahahahh!
Automatic >:(
+wowitskevin who cares.
