I find myself struggling to imitate your axe attacks; Did they change it's attack pattern or something between when this video was posted and now, or is there something I'm not seeing you do to get those wide swings? My only guess is heavy attacks, but mine charge incredibly slow compared to your attacks, which I assumed were lights
So I saw your comment and I decided to pick up this mark of the axe again on my Psyker after months of using force swords. It's still as good as I remembered and I genuinely think it's better at handling hordes than the Illisi (except you lose out on all of the utility that the force swords provide, like Deflector, infinite dodge count and the stagger of their push attack). I'll have to start using it more again as it's incredibly safe to use when surrounded by horde units. The combo that I spam constantly with it is push attack into heavy, not lights. Both of those attacks come out incredibly fast in this order which lets you chew through hordes, especially since the damage profile for the push attack is so close to the one of the heavies. Don't use lights ever with this axe. Also, don't use it on Vet since their low stamina regen doesn't allow you to use it as effectively as on the Psyker.
@@XrayWasTaken I gotcha I gotcha, I'll give it a try in some proper missions then, how do you do those heavy attacks so fast? My charge ups are incredibly slow, and I'm not really sure how to get the speed I was seeing you do. That or I'm just missing something painfully obvious like it being the same speed and I just *think* you were doing it faster. Wouldn't be the first time I made a mistake like that, but I appreciate the response!
@@EldritchHeart It could be your Finesse modifier being low. Mine is at 78% and it increases both my Weakspot damage and Attack Speed by a considerable amount. It's an important stat to have on melee weapons that get access to it. Edit: 78% not 80, I looked at the wrong axe in my inventory (yes I still use the one shown in the video, except it's upgraded to gold with T4 Headtaker on it)
@@XrayWasTaken Oh wow, I didn't know that's what finesse does, I'll have to prod around and try to get a higher rated version of the axe then, and if I can get better stats, I'll try it again. Thanks Xray!
I much prefer using the Mk VII Tactical on my Vet instead. You can make the Mk II work, however Veteran has the longest delay out of all the classes for stamina regen, which means that you won't be able to use the push attack as often as the Psyker. The Mk VII relies on the push attack much less.
Absolutely. BM and Headtaker are best in slot options for all axe types and marks, although you can also use Decimator instead of Headtaker on the Mk VII specifically.
No worries, didn't bother me at all. If anything it was a pleasure to give you some answers :) Unfortunately I've completely burned out of tide games and I haven't touched Darktide in the last month or so. I'm currently working on a DRG compilation video, I have no idea when the next guide is gonna come out. It's likely to be a Vermintide video however.
THIS is art dude. Awesome showcase!
Absolutely banger gameplay, plus fun teammates chatter

does the axe work with veteran? Because I don't wanna use the boring power sword

@@XrayWasTaken I see thank you again for the suggestion, and I suppose I have to use brutal momentum o the axe still right?

@@XrayWasTaken thank you so much for all the infos and also sorry for bothering your work. I hope I'll see anotherone of your videos soon
