Duck Hunting 2024-Opening Weekend

- On this episode the Clarke boys head in for their annual opening weekend duck hunting adventure.
They’ve done some renovations to the duck blind in the hopes that it will bring in more ducks than ever. It’s their new dog Bella’s first real test out retrieving ducks so hopefully she can bring home the bacon!
They’ve got their benelli shotguns ready to rock and are hoping for a mixed bag of mallards, paradise ducks, geese and swans.
Come along for the adventure and see how they get on.
That pooch has a lot of drive and looks real birdy, showing plenty of potential.
Yea she’s gonna be a really sharp dog. Just need to work on a couple of little details this season. Next year she will be a gun!

Yea considering it’s her first opening she’s coming along really well. Only about 18 months old. By the end of this season she will be pretty sharp I reckon

Good stuff looks like a mint setup you guys have there. It would cool to see a video with how you process/cook the ducks you harvest. Any tips on how you get shot out of the meat?

Great video again,Got that dog working well for the age, Just wondering how did you guys build your gun rest they look simple and safe,How did you find the Winchester steel shot???😊😊
Hey mate, the gun tests are just two pieces of wood screwed together in an L shape. Then we used a hole saw bit on a drill to make the groves at each end for the but of the gun to rest in. You have to make the hole about 10-15cm down from the top of the wood and then use a saw to cut down to the hole that you have made. That makes it deep enough to hold the gun safely. We found the Winchester steel shot really good. At least as good as anything else we used if not a bit better. We love it but we also got it for free😅

do you a have a super black eagle 3? If so do you hold 3 and 1 or 4 and 1?
Ours is just the black Eagle 3. The super black Eagle can take 3&1/2 inch where as ours can only take 3 inch. The mag unpinned is 3. So 3 plus 1 in chamber if unpinned. That’s the only downside of the Benelli is that if you want a bigger mag you have to buy the extension. But the upside is that it’s a really nice light gun and super well balanced.

Where’d you guys get your ammo from?
You should be able to get it from any sporting shop that sells ammo. If they don’t stock it they can easily get it in. Killwell are the distributors and are really quick at getting things out to retailers so it shouldn’t take long and is easy for the shop owners to do. Either that or you can order it direct from the Kilwell website but you have to fill out a police form and get it signed which is a bit of a pain.

Hi guys just a question why do guns have ti pinned ? Is it the area you shoot in because i shoot up north and never crossed this before ?
Hey mate, where we shoot you aren’t allowed more than 3 shots as part of the fish and game rules. Check the booklet you get with your licence to see what the rules are in your area👍
