All skillshots speed were made for certain average ms in game. You probably noticed that some champs got skill shot travel speed faster, for exact same reason.
They nerf some items for 1% ms and for others (abyssal mask for example) completely remove half of the passive, nerf the stats and have the audacity to increase the cost...

Ain't no way they nerfed trailblazer when it's so bad nobody ever builds it. Nerfing the movement speed on it just kills it even more. If anything trailblazer needs buffs.
i don't think that is a nerf. it will be 100g cheaper and have 50 more hp. and keep in mind that every single MS item also got MS reduced 5% -> 4%, so it's neutral in comparison

I guess after Durability Patch they realised that people don't like it when things are too slow... but a vocal minority kept complaining so now they're doing another Durability Patch-esque thing again. but I'm guessing they'll immediate start buffing champs' base damage because history repeats itself.

@@thestoebzMaybe compared to other Moba games. I've never played Dota but I have played several other competitive games where the balancing is 10x better than whatever Riot has been doing. 1.) Riot doesn't really try to balance across all Elos. 2.) Everytime Riot makes a balance change they give the most unreasonable explanation (or) they will revert the change immediately in the next patch (or) they will forget they ever changed a champion and nerf their items and whatnot without reverting any of the previous changes until years later. 3.) Riot has 0 idea what class balancing is and try to balance champions around their "classes" that ultimately are not balanced around what that class is supposed to be (Tanks and Bruisers are notorious for this). 4.) Riot never has any idea what they are trying to aim for in terms of balancing and are almost always out of touch with the community when it comes to what they change. 5.) What other game do you know of that will completely over buff/nerf items and champions based off of what they FEEL like seeing in tournament play? None that I know of. This behavior is extremely unhealthy to 99% of the community. Now while loads of games usually have some of these issues, most games with hardcore balancing problems usually fall under two things: They either don't listen to their community Or they are a newer game. LoL has existed for over 12 years. At this point they should have an inkling on how to properly balance their game instead of going back and forth with balance changes, and even going as far to bring back older balancing ideas that they decided to change for "balance" in the first place.

@@chrish8111 you get 25 instea of 15 from the passiv now. It makes sense imo since the current version gives you better trading in lane while reducing your all in cd too (Riven or so for example)
It’s harder to HP stack now with so many items giving less of it. Also reduces the effectiveness of HP stacking runes. This also buffs lord Dominik’s and Void staff because with less HP caps the %pen becomes much more valuable. This also helps squishier champs because less champions want to build the flat pen stats.

Void staff was rather bad and it's going to be worse now with less ap since the mr is still pretty much the same wich is cheap and high even with void staff you would do little to no damage to any champ with 1 mr item for like 80% of the game until you scale and when you do you still do nothing lod will be pretty much the same oh wow I ignore 30% of your armor so now I do 25 more dmg... while you deal less than 200 while being full build and the top cures more and has over 5.5k life and 1 heartsteel procs leaves you with less than 40% hp, let the tank meta rise again let mages disappear completely and keep playing adcs mid at this point we might remove support too why not? enchanters finally being able to do their job and we nerf their items is just a matter of time before riot gives up and decides to either put tenacity on 90% of items or nerf to oblivion every single cc skill and still carry all this shitty durability patch.
Too many of these nerfs feel like they were added for the sake of nerfing most of the items. Some of these items could've been completely unchanged and would've been in a fine spot in the meta next patch.

Zeke should give ult haste like maglinance and hexplate. It just feel so bad when build it and you get is a little slow and small ass dmg around you for like 5s
I think about that too, Zeke passive interact with champion ult but why Riot don't have ullt haste stat for this item, maybe they can increase the price a litte bit.

if it gave ult cd then half of the champs would buy it because its really cheap, gives great stats for its cost and ult is very valuable on a lot of the champs.
They needed nerfs because if you get stunned you just get bursted down no matter what due to op items. This season items kind of canceled the durability update from last season. This seems like a good change.

Items shouldn't give movspeed at all, and more items should give mana, like why can't you get a bruiser or assasin item with mana? Honestly tft items make more sense to me, they all provide some special effect opposed to "here's some stats"

Not all items nerfed and the nerfs are not equal. The biggest nerfs gets the Fighter class and ADCs get a slap on the wrist (another Phreak season, gentlemen)

Trundle was kinda dead for a while even in the JG, he was such a nice counter pick vs Tanks but they gutted his dmg right before they removed Lethal Tempo, he cant even win trades with champions he used to win BEFORE they introduced Lethal Tempo.
Indirect ADC nerf since they are all about scaling and getting OP items. Overall much needed change, needs to happen a few more times slowly, and I'm sure they'll find a way to give ADCs power back, if anything ADCs will enjoy the game more even if they are less powerful since they won't be one-shot anymore.

I actually massively disagree. Nerfing stats stabilizes the champion strength more because certain items just having the best stats paired with strong effects means the champions that abuse those items the best will just inherently be the meta. Weaker items means that champion synergy, counters, laning ability, team fighting etc all matter more as a result of there being less variance in item strength or just having certain champions synergize more with strong items.

You missed something huge with Titanic Hydra, the passive dmg doesn't apply to the enemy hit anymore, it only make the wave behind do dmg now, meaning the item is completely dead. Also why when we all know that fighter items and ADC items were extremely overpowered did figther items get proper changes and over nerfs while the ADC items get a slap on the wrist???? That horizon focus change is really a lot more than it seems. The wording changed from hypershot to 'this item'. That should mean that enemies revealed by focus also take 10% more damage.
@@canispugnator7613 the numbers look a little off to me, 10 damage per 70 armour isn't the same percentage ratio as 15 to 100, that should at least be 105 armour for that same value, surely?
classic phreak szn, literally all ad items -1/3% ms and a few of them -5% as, and -5ad and that is literally it (it will all be made up by lethal tempo anyways)
This is a good change. Rapa not being a MUST have item makes itemization much better, mages have been forced to buy it simply because it has been the best option, now you have to actually think what item you need in that specific game.

Nah, you are right. This Hydra is loosing all its potential and identity with this nerf. The fact that it does not deal more dmg to enemies with less than 50% health makes it so that it does not synergyze with many champion's kits, which not only makes it way weaker, but also more boring. It is basically a normal Hydra with a bit of lethality.
I'm not too on board with Eclipse not damaging anymore. While the shield is good, I don't think it's damage is worth it anymore to justify building it instead of any other item like Shojin
That's the point it's supposed to be a trading item for more assassin or skirmish champs not and all-round item for bruiser and divers that also kills tanks.

@@alexandreborman2183 I heavily disagree. Bruisers and bruiser items have all been mid this year. The start of the season was a very heavy tank meta which changed to a marksmen meta. Bruiser items are honestly all pretty shit rn in comparison.
To be honest I actually really like the changes. We saw all year that the champions that became meta were mostly based around who could abuse certain items the best even in pro play. Trinity force has been a staple for a while now because it’s a stat stick. I like when champions and items are strong based on what they do not just being number balls. I also think that the champions that get played when things are more leveled out are healthier for the game. Orianna, Ashe, Jhin, Jarvan, Ornn, etc are the champions I like to see. They make team comps that compliment one another and work well together. Versus the stuff we have seen like Tristana mid, Corki mid, Zeri in like 3 different roles, or the AP stackers like Leblanc. The HP stackers have been especially oppressive like the tank supports being meta almost all season. It’s not like I want only enchanters or only engage or only poke. I like it feeling like you can counter pick or change the way a game will play out based on what you pick and how you build not just whoever has the most broken item synergy.
Well if you dont like trinity since its a stat stick, you shouldnt like these changes since they are turning items into stat sticks, they have done so at the start of the season, removing passives and now they nerf everything - means champs that scale with items get weaker and more stat stick benefiters - either due to high base stats or due to highly effective kits will benefit; Thats the opposite of mages who werent playable for 20 years or so - Azri sure, but maybe some Ori or Viktor at times but not to the highest success really - even if picked they werent the high impact champs from S5 to 7... Riot doesnt want boring control mages all the time so they are happy with this I guess. They claim they dont want Nasus vs Garen mid, but they also know that it gives more views to pro play and "uhh diversity is good for the game". But sure Jhin Ash utility adcs yes they like this - maybe sacling adcs could profit since it might become harder to snowball since gold is less effective as a resource... but Jarvan and Ornn have good chances to return - if not nerfed or banned Senna Ornn is a very good bot lane for example. And counter pick is iffy, since people in any realm of play just pick what they want to play 99% of the time...
@@Linkingx2 Trinity actually gets hit the hardest by stat nerfs because it had the most stats reduced. I doubt it changes who builds it, like Jax for example. The champions that do build it just don’t receive the one item spike to nearly the degree they did before. Having the Phage and Spell blade passive on top of the most stats from an item onto one singular item was admittedly a poor design. In addition, nerfing the stats of items will help make it easier to make item effects and abilities stand out more. I think that the items that seem very weak now will end up receiving changes/updates to make them more usable or better for their intended uses. Like eclipse will likely be focused more into being a true DUELING item for example.
Some of the most built items the the game got 1 stat nerf and sky which is only built on a handful of champs is i think the only one that gets triple nerfed for some reason.
sundered sky is probably the least problematic item in the game and is almost exclusively built by champs that lack stats (which are mostly bruiser junglers like xin, j4, lee) and that allows them to play the game. this item was one of the best items riot has released in a long time and now they are gutting it, even tho it was arguably too weak in its current form anyways??
@@buberoini First of all it was always the highest armor pen, and over times it got reduced, and right now it's only the highest by 5%, compared to the other armor pen item for ADC, that's also includes armor pen... I don't think it's right.

ms is one of the most busted stats in the game, it needs to be nerfed, and this is coming from me as a juggernaut player - you can use a dash poorly and outplay one, you cannot outplay a meatball running at you at a furious pace
@@Doublejho If you take away their ms they are literally devoid of any agency in the game, just begging for enemies to stay near them, not use the 7th dash to just safely jump over a wall. Sounds like the problem is that you have meatball champions in the game, not that they are running fast.
@@Doublejho As much as i love them, they severely need to be updated and lose some of that identity. The game is too fast and in its current state the only way to balance that is to give them stats. Or just make TTK higher* in general and rebalance all the new jumpy heroes around longer harder fights. Assassins would lose to tanks, ADC lose to assassins, mages are specialty role, and supports keep their carry alive from assassins while he destroys a tank. This would actually make ADC relevant again lol. Flashy assassins are just bad for the balance and riot couldn't help themselves for like 5 years in a row. OR give more power to the player besides their hero selection: Severely buff flash, add cooler active items, make players choose between stats and utility - and actually use their brain to figure out more complex itemization strategies. Adc items (who are by FAR the most problematic ones) a few movement speed reductions that should've happened anyway a long time ago, -3% lifesteal on bt and -10 ad on IE (arguably the best item in the game) while mages are losing 50+ ap at 3-4 items is just crazy...

As a bruiser and tank main a lot of these changes are insanely bad. I agree that ms and adc items have been horrible for the game. But this is clearly to much. Bruisers just wont be doing any damage anymore in the game. Eclipse is literally pointless now unless it cost less than 2700g. This is a horrible patch tbh. Its all health based and even with the nerfs to bork its almost useless. Champs like nasus and scaling champs will be thriving due to their just stat checks in late game.
well tank items also got nerfed badly - I think all roles just suffer and any form of stat stick champs with "decent" kits will be good - so scalers that dont need items for dmg, like smolder and champs with just fine kits or abilities with CC idk amumu and co - we already see them now since most items already suck - but this will just push it back to S3 meta of items dont do anything and uga booga champs run around.
Ok, how do you plan on stopping tanks who literally stack? Sometimes it takes 3 people to kill one tank that does a ton of DMG and that with the current items... But they didn't nerf tanks?
@@jrcervincervin2782lots of tank items had reduced health or resists, so that helps a bit. Also if a tank is unkillable, you either messed up in champ select, or he got fed and should be strong when fed.
@@buberoini If they really wanna "balance" the game, they should put a limit on the hp you can stack with Heartsteal, reduce it's DMG and increase the cooldown on it. Then consider giving ADC the old passive of Lord Dominik, but nerf it a bit and reduce the ad on the rest of the ADC Items, just a bit, that would balance ADC DMG in general but also giving them a way to stop tanks.
@@jrcervincervin2782 aram is a part of league yes, but its a totally different game mode. With randomness, sometimes you just get the short end of the stick. It happens. Maybe always keep tanks im mind when playing aram, maybe you need more tanks, maybe you need more tank shredders. Theres a lot that goes into it, so its hars to know what to fix. And with randomness, its so much harder to know whether you lost in champ select or it was an in game issue
So i look at it all and before this i was cooking a garen build. I was avoiding the crit build for some games and abusing movespeed and tankness while having high burst. the changes have only gone and made everyone slower, kept my garen build speed the same but like only 3% slower but also now allows me to slot in spear of shojin or another item instead of deadmans which wasnt really needed since phase rush + swifties basicly made you uncatchable later on with 660+ speed after phase proc. People complained about crit garen, now get ready for tank garen that can still burst you but can also split push fast.

They literally stack hp while doing lot of DMG and the only item meant to stop them got nerfed 5 times already.... Yea, each time league does an update on items like this they always favorite one type of champs, there was a times all assassins were broken with an item that made them invisible after each kill, making each ad assassins a mini master Yi. Then they took that off, and over buffed ADC, giving all ADC an item they can do true damage with, then that also got taken away a few patch later, and now it's time for tanks, they can stack infinitely and do dmg now, and all others are nerfed except for them, so there is no stoping tanks cause now everyone does less dmg but tanks stack infinity...makes sense.

1.) Riot doesn't really try to balance across all Elos.
2.) Everytime Riot makes a balance change they give the most unreasonable explanation (or) they will revert the change immediately in the next patch (or) they will forget they ever changed a champion and nerf their items and whatnot without reverting any of the previous changes until years later.
3.) Riot has 0 idea what class balancing is and try to balance champions around their "classes" that ultimately are not balanced around what that class is supposed to be (Tanks and Bruisers are notorious for this).
4.) Riot never has any idea what they are trying to aim for in terms of balancing and are almost always out of touch with the community when it comes to what they change.
5.) What other game do you know of that will completely over buff/nerf items and champions based off of what they FEEL like seeing in tournament play? None that I know of. This behavior is extremely unhealthy to 99% of the community.
Now while loads of games usually have some of these issues, most games with hardcore balancing problems usually fall under two things:
They either don't listen to their community
Or they are a newer game.
LoL has existed for over 12 years. At this point they should have an inkling on how to properly balance their game instead of going back and forth with balance changes, and even going as far to bring back older balancing ideas that they decided to change for "balance" in the first place.

It’s harder to HP stack now with so many items giving less of it. Also reduces the effectiveness of HP stacking runes. This also buffs lord Dominik’s and Void staff because with less HP caps the %pen becomes much more valuable. This also helps squishier champs because less champions want to build the flat pen stats.

Too many of these nerfs feel like they were added for the sake of nerfing most of the items. Some of these items could've been completely unchanged and would've been in a fine spot in the meta next patch.

I actually massively disagree. Nerfing stats stabilizes the champion strength more because certain items just having the best stats paired with strong effects means the champions that abuse those items the best will just inherently be the meta. Weaker items means that champion synergy, counters, laning ability, team fighting etc all matter more as a result of there being less variance in item strength or just having certain champions synergize more with strong items.

You missed something huge with Titanic Hydra, the passive dmg doesn't apply to the enemy hit anymore, it only make the wave behind do dmg now, meaning the item is completely dead.

That horizon focus change is really a lot more than it seems. The wording changed from hypershot to 'this item'. That should mean that enemies revealed by focus also take 10% more damage.

Nah, you are right. This Hydra is loosing all its potential and identity with this nerf.
The fact that it does not deal more dmg to enemies with less than 50% health makes it so that it does not synergyze with many champion's kits, which not only makes it way weaker, but also more boring.
It is basically a normal Hydra with a bit of lethality.

I'm not too on board with Eclipse not damaging anymore. While the shield is good, I don't think it's damage is worth it anymore to justify building it instead of any other item like Shojin
That's the point it's supposed to be a trading item for more assassin or skirmish champs not and all-round item for bruiser and divers that also kills tanks.

@@alexandreborman2183 I heavily disagree. Bruisers and bruiser items have all been mid this year. The start of the season was a very heavy tank meta which changed to a marksmen meta. Bruiser items are honestly all pretty shit rn in comparison.

To be honest I actually really like the changes. We saw all year that the champions that became meta were mostly based around who could abuse certain items the best even in pro play. Trinity force has been a staple for a while now because it’s a stat stick. I like when champions and items are strong based on what they do not just being number balls. I also think that the champions that get played when things are more leveled out are healthier for the game. Orianna, Ashe, Jhin, Jarvan, Ornn, etc are the champions I like to see. They make team comps that compliment one another and work well together. Versus the stuff we have seen like Tristana mid, Corki mid, Zeri in like 3 different roles, or the AP stackers like Leblanc. The HP stackers have been especially oppressive like the tank supports being meta almost all season. It’s not like I want only enchanters or only engage or only poke. I like it feeling like you can counter pick or change the way a game will play out based on what you pick and how you build not just whoever has the most broken item synergy.

Well if you dont like trinity since its a stat stick, you shouldnt like these changes since they are turning items into stat sticks, they have done so at the start of the season, removing passives and now they nerf everything - means champs that scale with items get weaker and more stat stick benefiters - either due to high base stats or due to highly effective kits will benefit; Thats the opposite of mages who werent playable for 20 years or so - Azri sure, but maybe some Ori or Viktor at times but not to the highest success really - even if picked they werent the high impact champs from S5 to 7... Riot doesnt want boring control mages all the time so they are happy with this I guess. They claim they dont want Nasus vs Garen mid, but they also know that it gives more views to pro play and "uhh diversity is good for the game". But sure Jhin Ash utility adcs yes they like this - maybe sacling adcs could profit since it might become harder to snowball since gold is less effective as a resource... but Jarvan and Ornn have good chances to return - if not nerfed or banned Senna Ornn is a very good bot lane for example. And counter pick is iffy, since people in any realm of play just pick what they want to play 99% of the time...
@@Linkingx2 Trinity actually gets hit the hardest by stat nerfs because it had the most stats reduced. I doubt it changes who builds it, like Jax for example. The champions that do build it just don’t receive the one item spike to nearly the degree they did before. Having the Phage and Spell blade passive on top of the most stats from an item onto one singular item was admittedly a poor design. In addition, nerfing the stats of items will help make it easier to make item effects and abilities stand out more. I think that the items that seem very weak now will end up receiving changes/updates to make them more usable or better for their intended uses. Like eclipse will likely be focused more into being a true DUELING item for example.

Some of the most built items the the game got 1 stat nerf and sky which is only built on a handful of champs is i think the only one that gets triple nerfed for some reason.
sundered sky is probably the least problematic item in the game and is almost exclusively built by champs that lack stats (which are mostly bruiser junglers like xin, j4, lee) and that allows them to play the game. this item was one of the best items riot has released in a long time and now they are gutting it, even tho it was arguably too weak in its current form anyways??

Technically its "buffed" cuz its now the highest armor pen item again, but yeah it is down bad from where it was.

ms is one of the most busted stats in the game, it needs to be nerfed, and this is coming from me as a juggernaut player - you can use a dash poorly and outplay one, you cannot outplay a meatball running at you at a furious pace

Sounds like the problem is that you have meatball champions in the game, not that they are running fast.

Or just make TTK higher* in general and rebalance all the new jumpy heroes around longer harder fights. Assassins would lose to tanks, ADC lose to assassins, mages are specialty role, and supports keep their carry alive from assassins while he destroys a tank. This would actually make ADC relevant again lol. Flashy assassins are just bad for the balance and riot couldn't help themselves for like 5 years in a row.
OR give more power to the player besides their hero selection: Severely buff flash, add cooler active items, make players choose between stats and utility - and actually use their brain to figure out more complex itemization strategies. Basically DOTA.

Mages got a buff for the most part. Bruisers with too much free AH got reduced and items got more focused.

Adc items (who are by FAR the most problematic ones) a few movement speed reductions that should've happened anyway a long time ago, -3% lifesteal on bt and -10 ad on IE (arguably the best item in the game) while mages are losing 50+ ap at 3-4 items is just crazy...
Mages get so much AP from their items, that losing bit of AP won't do much in grand scheme of things.
IE is +200g as well tbf. Quite a lot of the items got gold changes but don’t seem to have been covered in the video so worth noting them
ADC items are the least problematic other than static. ADC base stats and the kits of a few champs are the problem.
bt also has a better shield now for whatever reason while assassins are losing lethality, ad, ability haste and passives and actives on items XDDDDD

idk i feel like the classes that are kinda meh rn got hit the hardest for no reason... enchanters got the worst nerfs by far, also some mage changes are questionable ... mainly Horizon focus - what is the point of building an item for damage amplification if it gives 75 AP!? Same goes for protobelt, which is supposed to be built by champs like neeko that should have a high burst ( only 60 ap?) ... It feels like another tank meta is incoming which is going to be absolutely insuferable for everyone except tank players as usual... especially with all the armor pen nerfs and the -20 ap on liandry

As a bruiser and tank main a lot of these changes are insanely bad. I agree that ms and adc items have been horrible for the game. But this is clearly to much. Bruisers just wont be doing any damage anymore in the game. Eclipse is literally pointless now unless it cost less than 2700g. This is a horrible patch tbh. Its all health based and even with the nerfs to bork its almost useless. Champs like nasus and scaling champs will be thriving due to their just stat checks in late game.
well tank items also got nerfed badly - I think all roles just suffer and any form of stat stick champs with "decent" kits will be good - so scalers that dont need items for dmg, like smolder and champs with just fine kits or abilities with CC idk amumu and co - we already see them now since most items already suck - but this will just push it back to S3 meta of items dont do anything and uga booga champs run around.

@@jrcervincervin2782lots of tank items had reduced health or resists, so that helps a bit. Also if a tank is unkillable, you either messed up in champ select, or he got fed and should be strong when fed.

@@buberoini If they really wanna "balance" the game, they should put a limit on the hp you can stack with Heartsteal, reduce it's DMG and increase the cooldown on it. Then consider giving ADC the old passive of Lord Dominik, but nerf it a bit and reduce the ad on the rest of the ADC Items, just a bit, that would balance ADC DMG in general but also giving them a way to stop tanks.
@@jrcervincervin2782 aram is a part of league yes, but its a totally different game mode. With randomness, sometimes you just get the short end of the stick. It happens. Maybe always keep tanks im mind when playing aram, maybe you need more tanks, maybe you need more tank shredders. Theres a lot that goes into it, so its hars to know what to fix. And with randomness, its so much harder to know whether you lost in champ select or it was an in game issue
So i look at it all and before this i was cooking a garen build. I was avoiding the crit build for some games and abusing movespeed and tankness while having high burst. the changes have only gone and made everyone slower, kept my garen build speed the same but like only 3% slower but also now allows me to slot in spear of shojin or another item instead of deadmans which wasnt really needed since phase rush + swifties basicly made you uncatchable later on with 660+ speed after phase proc.
People complained about crit garen, now get ready for tank garen that can still burst you but can also split push fast.
This makes 0 sense, people saying items were too OP and this is the right thing to do...

Yea, each time league does an update on items like this they always favorite one type of champs, there was a times all assassins were broken with an item that made them invisible after each kill, making each ad assassins a mini master Yi. Then they took that off, and over buffed ADC, giving all ADC an item they can do true damage with, then that also got taken away a few patch later, and now it's time for tanks, they can stack infinitely and do dmg now, and all others are nerfed except for them, so there is no stoping tanks cause now everyone does less dmg but tanks stack infinity...makes sense.
