  • Before you go in to review the lease for your new place you should consider how long you want to/need to live there; who will be living there with you now or later (human and animal!), how the rent and utilities are allocated, what the term will be, how utilities are paid and whether you can sublease. Next you want to check out the relevant parts of the lease that cover these things. If something you need or want is not covered already- talk about it with the landlord and you just might make the lease better for you! .

    I am moving
I paid a security deposit for a master bedroom that I will be occupying in a house alone. I know to ask for a receipt. I didn't think of that initially, or yesterday. I will request that. Anything else I should be precautious about?
