    This is just what I needed. I wanted to customize my modeline, and here you are. Thanks.
    A question - Do you use an Evil mode in this video?
    Generally, do you prefer Emacs or Vim keybindings for editing text?
    Could you, maybe, make a video comparing them and explaining the strengths and weaknesses of either of choices?
    I saw your Emacs-Golf video, but rightn now I've noticed on your modeline and wondered which one you prefer and why.

      You are welcome! Yes, I do use Evil in this video. The thing with keybindings is that it depends on many factors that are specific to each user. To me, both Emacs and Vim keys are equally good. I have been using Evil recently simply because I have been experiencing pain in my arm: part of it is due to the hard work I do outdoors and the other is keyboard related.

    What is the name of that package that lets you "undo" visually by step(node) on the branch?

    • @protesilaos

      It is the 'vundo' package. My configuration for it: protesilaos.com/emacs/dotemacs#h:66ea5d9d-f60b-4d92-ba51-06c27d1be784

      It is my custom build of Iosevka, called "Iosevka Comfy": github.com/protesilaos/iosevka-comfy

    Could you please make a video on how to design a mode line like spacemacs (I mean the powerlne style)?

    • @protesilaos
      @protesilaos  3 месяца назад

      I have a video about writing a custom mode line: protesilaos.com/codelog/2023-07-29-emacs-custom-modeline-tutorial/
      Though note that those powerline symbols are custom blocks, which would require extra work to be rendered.

    Hi Prot, it seems your audio is a bit out of sync with video.

      Yes, it is. I don't know what happened. This has been going on for a while. I tried to reconfigure OBS and it does not seem to have an effect. Maybe it's because I am on Wayland? I will have to check again...
