    I always picked “Engineer”, because this Link never struck me as a fighter. He was a thinker, a handyman, and just a kind helpful soul, who happened to be decent with a sword. Plus, he was training (haha) to become one at the start of the game, and hell, he salutes whenever he boards the train, so he’s clearly serious about it.
    Yeah, this Link is an engineer, through and through.

      That's one way to think about it.
      Here's another.
      This incident made Link realize he actually had a strong aptitude for swordsmanship (as well as other weapons) and planted a desire within him to protect Zelda and the people of the world. Because of this, he decided to train to improve that aptitude should the land face another crisis.

    I actually really appreciate the dunno ending.
    The option, though it might have seemed like a joke option at first, actually spoke to me a lot as a player who first finished the game when they were a young teen and had no idea what they wanted to do with their life.
    I feel like Link, who seems to be of a similar age, probably would have felt similarly. He’s been so caught up in saving the world that he just kind of forgets that there’s still a whole ”after” ahead. And there’s no set goals to reach, no guidance, it’s so open and vague. It’s a little overwhelming.
    And being put on the spot like that really does make you just pause for a moment and think as reality finally fits you again. Like, wow, what *do* I want to do with my life?
    It just felt natural to say
    I dunno.
    And I liked the ending because it didn’t show anything specific.
    It almost felt like a reassuring nod like, hey, you don’t have to decide on one path for the rest of your life. There’s a whole world out there. You’re free, so just take things at your own pace and find what makes you happy.
    And Zelda just smiles as she thinks about Link, out there, trying to find his purpose in the world. I think he’s very brave for doing that.

    • @NotHereBoi
      @NotHereBoi Год назад +10

      Yknow, I never actually thought of it that way.
      As a fresh young adult, people always ask me what I wanna do in the future in person, and my response is always just “I’m still not sure” because in a way I feel like I’m being rushed and/or pushed to do stuff one way or the other. I say that to be vague, because I genuinely “dunno”, especially with all the knowledge and talent I have now (I’m not ashamed to admit that, I literally have a verified music badge on here lmao).
      Knowing that there’s no set path for me does stress me out a little bit, but after reading your comment I’m realizing that no matter which path I take in life, there’s still gonna be people that are happy for me no matter what I do. (And of course, I still have time to figure out what the hell I actually wanna do lol.)
      This seems silly to say, but thank you for writing this comment.

      This is such a beautiful interpretation.
      I‘m turning 30 next month and deep down have always felt incredibly scared, lost and alone. It‘s only recently that I‘ve started to learn to hope for my future, to listen to what I really want to do and trust in myself, that as long as I follow this feeling I will find happiness. Although I‘m still scared, I‘m learning to embrace this freedom and enjoy my journey to find my purpose, knowing I don‘t have to keep rushing like I used to.
      Wind Waker was my first Zelda game, so replaying Spirit Tracks and seeing that Link and Tetra found their purpose in this new land after all this time is so beautiful. Their legacy is living on through their successors and their kinship, through the song Tetra passed down to Zelda. And through Link now searching for a purpose of his own.
      This ending used to feel sad for me, with Link seemingly leaving Zelda and Hyrule behind, but your interpretation helped me realize how beautiful it is. Maybe, once he has found his purpose, he will come back.

    I replayed this game so many times that I lost count but I tended to be torn between Engineer and Warrior.
    Engineer: Obviously Link was mentored by Alfonzo and the entire quest was with a train so he has a lot of sentimental value to it.
    Warrior: The ending cutscene was adorable when I first saw it, and Link had honed his skills as a warrior to save Zelda and Hyrule. While she does have a royal guard, he probably felt like he needed to stay by her to make sure this never happens again.

Also fast forward so I don't have to sit there for an hour driving the train only to get blown up by an angry boi train.

    @MrAnimedark Both the engineer and warrior endings are good. I feel bad for people that choose Dunno. Besides not getting a nice shot of the Tower of Spirits at the end, it is the only ending without the sun shinning behind the words "The End".

    The timeline of Spirit tracks: Oricana of time--->hundred year later--->The Wind waker(if you watch the prologue about legend of hero of time then you know it)---->several month after event--->Phantom Hourglass---->next hundred year later----->Spirit tracks with Niko,Alfonzo descendant of Gonzo and Princess Zelda's granddaughter of Tetra

    • @morgan4224
      @morgan4224 8 лет назад

      I don't understand how Tetra has a granddaughter and is dead when Niko (who I believe was a fair bit older than Tetra) is still alive and kicking to teach the next hero about the lore of the game he's in.

    • @theloruleanhistorian
      @theloruleanhistorian 7 лет назад +8

      Technically right in the order, but wrong on the amount of time between OoT and TWW. It's actually *several hundred years*, according to Eiji Aonuma (mistranslated as "one hundred"), and Daphnes - the last King of Hyrule - in-game (TWW). :-)
      So it's actually:
      *Ocarina of Time [Adult ending] **---**> several hundred years later… **---**> The Wind Waker **---**> some months later… **---**> Phantom Hourglass **---**> one hundred years later… **---**> Spirit Tracks*
      With the additional knowledge that the demon-spirit war was an **ancient battle**, and that the demon king Malladus - "Incarnation of Darkness" - was sealed away centuries before Tetra and co. arrived in the land that would come to be known as a new Hyrule Kingdom. This becomes clearer in the Japanese version of the game, which is truest to the dev's intent.

But now I’ve made a decision, I’m going to clear my previous save files, reply the game, save right before the final fight, copy said save and continue to the a different ending with the appropriate uniform for said ending.

    It doesn't matter what he chooses. Whether in this life or the next, Link will always be the weapon of Hylia, the one to shoulder all of the blood and violence that the time inevitably demands of him. He does this because it is what he is, and he can't ever change that. The very reason that he exists is to answer the call, unable to exist in a time outside of a threat to Hyrule and it's Lady. Accept fate, or reject it, in the end he never had a choice. He is the Hero. There's no running away from it.
    _You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?_

    • @nocturnox882

      This gave me shivers. It is true. Link never has a choice. He's the one the goddess(es) use to fight their wars for them, and he goes through with it because of the person he is. Definitely someone you would want to be like, but *not* someone you'd want be yourself.

  • @SonicKnight1994
    @SonicKnight1994 11 лет назад +2

    I think the true epilogue is the engineer one. Because link can still be one and be a warrior at the same time. He just won't use his weapons until a new evil arises. Plus I picked the engineer ending. P.s does anyone think link still has the lokomo sword? Because anjean said that he was meant to wield it. And we don't see him get rid of it (For once) like he does with every sword he gets.

    Dunno might have been like this:
    Maybe Link chose to be a hero. And the shot of the tower of spirits shows that he might have gone to serve the spirits in Anjean's and Stavens place. In case another great evil might rise again to threaten Hyrule, and Zelda.
    Just saying. Would like to hear some responses on this one.

      Majora's Mask had different versions of the end credits depending on which sidequests you had or hadn't finished.
      The Oracle games also ended differently depending on whether you were playing a Linked Game or not.
      And I think Four Swords Adventures changes the color of the Link who appears in the ending sequence, depending on which one performed the best in multiplayer.
