Love seeing Mr Galloway in one of your vids and have been wishing for some more information about Taiwan since it has been shown to be a target of the US the last couple of years. I am Swedish and, sadly, have no ties to China what so ever, but have been subscribed to this channel since CGTN fairly covered the Swedish protests AGAINST NATO-membership, where as Swedish media did not. People think that the Republic of China and Ukraine are vassals of the USA. This is partially true, but not wholly true. It’s critical to understand that both of these nations have made a free choice to partner with the USA. This is key. It’s the fact they made a free choice. Yes, the Republic of China is geographically close to the People’s Republic of China. Yet they have made a free choice to partner with the USA, and not the People’s Republic of China. You cannot discuss the Republic of China without understanding this critical fact.

The British Empire has been one of the biggest peddlers of chaos in the world for the past few centuries. Most conflicts today can be traced back to them, why would they stop now? 😂
It is very clear that spokespeople for the People's Republic of China do not fully understand the U.S. position. The One China Policy is a completely separate issue from the question of who has legal title to Taiwan under international law. The U.S.A. does not recognize the ROC claim to Taiwan and the 1945 illegal annexation of Taiwan by the ROC. Taiwan was Japanese territory until 1952.
Neither the San Francisco Peace Treaty nor the Treaty of Taipei ceded Taiwan/Formosa to the ROC. The ROC was on Taiwan as an authorized proxy military occupation force of the principal occupier of Japan pending an intended transfer of title in a future peace treaty. Unfortunately, the ROC became a non-sovereign entity and government in exile in 1949 and could not be given title to Taiwan in 1951.
The U.S.A. does not recognize the Republic of China as a government or a state. The Republic of China is a non-sovereign entity and government in exile that may not receive title to territory in an international peace treaty. The USA has repeatedly stated that it does not support the independence of a new country on Taiwan. Technically, Taiwan is occupied territory of the USA since the ROC was never given title to Taiwan. The U.S.A. wants the ROC and the PRC to find a peaceful reunification solution so that the USA can make good on its original intention to give Taiwan to mainland China by signing Taiwan over to the PRC. Moving to Nanking and winning a second Chinese civil war is the only other way the ROC can receive title to Taiwan. So both the PRC and the ROC should renounce use of war to resolve disputes, cherish peace and uphold the preamble to the U.N. charter.
If Taiwan wants to be an independent country like Cuba, it first must renounce the illegally promulgated constitution of the Republic of China, convene a constitutional convention and draft a new constitution for an independent Taiwan involving consultation with the people on the island of Taiwan. The USA could prevent this by replacing the ROC with USMG as the USA has the legal right to dispose of title to Taiwan in article 4b of the SFPT.

While the United States is considering relocating this industry to Arizona, a state facing considerable water shortages, such a maneuver is likely to be several years down the line, if it materializes at all. This situation presents Taiwan with a valuable bargaining chip.
Moving forward, Taiwan should not tether itself solely to either the US or China. Instead, it is advisable to transcend the rigid dichotomy between the Blue and Green factions and avoid getting entangled in divisive ideologies. Those who align themselves with either side only perpetuate the issue. I firmly believe in shedding the weight of historical constraints and empowering the nation's youth to chart a course guided by pragmatism, prosperity, and stability.

Some weird analysis of Chinese civil war here. Communists started the civil war and avoided fighting the Japanese. It was KMT that fought against the Japanese and bore the burden of most of WW2 and before. After Japan was defeated by US, communists attacked KMT that was weakened after the fighting with Japanese.
Most of the world accept de facto and de jure two China's. PRC and ROC. Most countries all over the planet accept passport's with Republic of China, and you actually have better visa free travel with ROC passport than with PRC passport. Embassies are called something else and instead of ambassador, there is relations director. Emperor has no clothes.
And if anyone will ever start war about Taiwan, it will be PRC.
It's pretty telling that they aren't talking with anyone in any meaningfully supported political party in Taiwan. Some guy from Europe who doesn't have any support at all in his home country is leading the speech here.
If your argument is that they are Chinese because they have ancestors from China (forgetting the indigenous people...), then according to your own argument we all belong to Africa... According to international law and the constitution of the Republic of China recognized in Taiwan, Taiwan and mainland both belong to the same country. Even the 11 countries in the world that recognize Taipei over Beijing agree they belong to the same country, the only disagreement is which government represents the entire country of China. CPC is 75 years too late, and never made a contribution to building the infrastructure of modern Taiwan, only the KMT did. Taiwan has its own currency, laws, military, police, political system, hospitals, schools, etc, etc. CPC built none of this. Taiwan is independent of the CPC and all its influences
Yet the people of Taiwan don’t have their own language or culture. Their entire value system and ways of thinking comes from mainland China. Plus mainland China paid for the construction of modern Taiwan when the KMT stole the entire treasury of China when they fled to Taiwan 😂
Really? Have you ever lived in Taiwan? When I was posted there, I couldn't believe they haven't kept up to the mainland in their infrastructure and living standards. Apart from Taipei which is far far behind any major cities in mainland China, there is nothing remarkable about the island. And incidentally the KMT are all of ethnic Chinese origins. Apart from TSMC, US has done sweet nothing for Taiwan.
