Finally somebody with a great voice reviewing a pedal for vocalists :)
I did not expect that voice to come out of that guy lol. I want this pedal now!
I checked to see I’d the auto tune was on…nope. Helped give me a nice baseline.
I need this for when we argue at home, I figure 3 of us should show we are right.
violence is much faster
Haha .. now that is funny :)
that was hilarious man, sooo funny
😅😅😅😅😅😅
Bye bye baby doll.
Dig it! Never heard that
I'm late the party here. This is the best demo of this product I have found. Thanks for posting, I'm going to buy one largely because of this vid.
I have had every harmonizer out there. All are good. Some have a lot more controls. Some the switches are so close you hit two at a time which is annoying. I have used this one for a few years. Simple. One switch you cant miss. And it sounds just fine. I use the second voice in the background here and there. The reverb and delays are controllable. I really miss it when I play without it. And yes you can do CSN with it. (If some of you know who they are LOL)
and Young...
This is a top review.
1. Solid execution
2. Solid Description
3. SOLID ADVICE
Also I found it very interesing how the pedal was presented i thought it was a screen with an image of the pedal, turns out it was sitting on the note stand 😅
Excellent
Very nice demo. Unison is not off, when you hit the foot switch to blue (harmony on) it's vocal doubler. I use it all the time, just to add thickness to my voice.
Lead singer for 10cc! Excellent player and man, those vocals! Wow.
This guy is amazing, I have one of his albums and saw him with ELO & 10cc. Top man !
Great review! One of the only reviews that goes through the features to know what you are going to bet before you buy. Thanks!
Please show how to connect boss VE-2 to laptop computer and if this product (boss VE-2)can use with mixer to laptop for recording?🤔 thanks and more power!!!
Very nice, but I just wanted to see if the auto-harmonist was on or not. No luck, can't see it because the angle view of the pedal.
After great debate…went Boss. Their ME-70 saved my guitar playing in college and my Acoustic is the incredible AC-90.
Pros- Interface wins. The Harmony dial is ingenious. Harmonies sound great once balanced. Enhance button sets your vocals front and center. Footswitch is huge.
Cons- Feedback! Be careful. I either play my Taylor T5 or 324ce with soundhole cover to help. Then my 58a super cardiod mic. Auto-tune is spot on, but during quiet songs, it can be distracting.
It’s a great price for what it does. Pedals need to be simple for me, so I can focus on performance. A strange harmony can be a funny iRobot joke. A bad performance is on me.
That vocal harmonist sounds really good. Also good performer. William Percival.
Sounds like you stuck the Eagles in a box.
Very cool little box, great demo and explanation!
This stripped down version of Baby Doll is amazing. Mick should release this as an acoustic solo version. Love the song.
who's the artist of this song?
Mick Wilson
Hey i am also looking for the first song. But cannot find it. Is it called “baby doll”
The vast majority of pedal reviews on RUclips are really half-assed. They are not explained well, and they don't really cover the pedal, leaving the viewer with a lot of unanswered questions. This review, however is one of the best. Mick covers all of the features of the pedal, and does it well.
Brilliant demo. Very precise and clear. Thanks.
love the intro song man , Cheers great review
Great review. I just bought the Ve 1 and I' m very happy with it ( intend on using it for hobby home recording). Previously I bought a tc helicon play live gtx but never got good results (sounding very unnatural). I' m not saying that that pedal is bad but it is more complicated and maybe my knowledge about eq and settings is not good enough.Bos ve1 and ve 2 makes a lot of choices for you. Tempted to buy a ve 2 too for backing harmonies.
Nice performance and demo! I am a big fan of Mick Wilson.
Great demo BRO, I really want this for my Ukulele vocal gigs.
Great demo and walkthrough! Better than anything I saw from Roland/Boss!
OK, if it'll make me sing like that, I'LL TAKE IT!!! LOL
Very nice voice and great talents. Appreciated the information as much as the upfront demonstration! :)
Great performer? guys, this is Mr. Mick Wilson himself, from 10 CC...
Manuel Samuel is it? I’m not in love so don’t forget it it’s just a silly stage I’m going through. love them.
The hell with the pedal the man sounds good great performance 😃
Great voice
Manuel Samuel I love that band!!!
Oh Mick Wilson! He's......never heard of him till now
Thanks, I just got one of these for my birthday! I'm hoping it'll detect my plug in ukulele, I'm sure it will. This video will help me learn to use the darn thing!
They should add tap tempo to the delay. This pedal is outstanding!!
Great performer, regardless of pedal.
@@vexphoto come on
Lame song. Boring. Couldn’t watch.
A very helpful demo
What type of microphone works best with this Vocal VE-2 Harmoniser pedal? Would a Shure SM58 work better than most others?
Great demo, thank you. Bought one because of this video. Great tool!
How do you like the pedal? I was thinking about getting this afternoon but wanted to talk to someone that is using it?
Wow I need one of these
Nice work!!!! ❤️
I've used, tried out rather, many harmonizers and vocal enhancers, pitch correctors, ETC hoping to find one that gives a realistic sound , many from tc helicon, boss, digitech and spent hours upon hours tweaking them. I can tell you unequivocally that NONE of them sound real, they all give a sound that one can only describe as a child's toy. The best thing any of them can do is a slight doubling effect but none of them harmonize anything like a real person would. If you're into sounding like Chipmunks, these will achieve them perfectly.
shaire99 the many reviews on RUclips and my own experience would totally disagree with you. The key to using them properly is less is more! They can sound absolutely great in the right settings.
I can't see your demos or videos
I can't fit two backing singers into a small gig bag though and they'd want to get paid every performance even if I could. I've got this and I think it's brilliant at what it does.
shaire99: I don’t know about this. This demo and another I saw on the TC-Helicon Harmony Singer sounds pretty impressive to me, at least on their demos. I am a skeptic regarding these Harmonizers but what I hear tempts me to buy one. The key I have to believe is to not expect too much. But used sparingly and when beneficial can work wonders for a single performer. I am not hearing the Chipmunks at all. Maybe older units? Just don’t expect Queen or Eagles harmonies right off the bat.
Fully agree. lol Would sound way better without this robotic nightmare.
I guess as a guitarist 1st and vocalist 2nd my question is, does it affect guitar tone at all?
1:41 woke up to the sound of pouring rain/ wind would whisper and i'd think of you
lol
I was so hoping so!
Hermano no necesitas ningún efecto, cantas genial
Chulo esto es para la Segunda
Es el cantante de 10cc una banda de los 80's, busca I´m not in love
Thank you very much for this cool video, well explained and kept simple to understand....great job sir!🤗👌you have one more suscriber!!👌
Good review. Didn't catch whether the direct and harmony signals can be lined out separately, for recording purposes. Though I suppose you could treat it as a patch later. Thanks.
Great review. Could you use a keyboard input instead of a guitar?
Yes. I am literally doing it right now. You can plug any instrument you want into that 1/4" jack. If it plays chords, it'll harmonize.
@@CaptGroutwow! Neat!
I bought the VE-2 and it´s really an incredibly tool. I need to buy some pedal for changing the memory though. Is there any chance I could get like... 30 different memories of my harmonize-settings if I buy some "special pedal"? Is there any pedal that is "extra-ordinary" in this case? Thanks for some advice here :)
If the knob is set in "unison" will it give a chorus/multi-vocal effect, or simply sound like its completely turned off?
Good question, Without trying it, I would suspect that you would get a doubling effect!
This guy's voice is fantastic! :) Does he need this device at all?
Great job
Great and timely response, thanks.👍
Hi nice vocals and playing enjoyed it very much very good demo , i think i will be getting one of these units soon , could i also just ask what was the setting on the Reverb /delay knob you was using or could you recommend a good setting , i have a similar style to yourself thanks for your time hoping to here from soon
All you need is compression and reverb. The engineer on live gigs doesn,t want to be told how to mix so won,t often let you use a pedal
What was the first song dude? Oh, and I bought a VE2 after seeing this review, great job
If you find out, tell me !!!
if you run a piano or backing tracks through it, can it determine the key.
Hi man, Definitely no to backing tracks and maybe for piano. As far I can tell, it will only accept a guitar instrument. Let me know if it works with a keyboard tho? :D
Apparently it does work with keyboards since you can play chords with a keyboard! should work with a mono 1/4 Inch TRS jack.
Comparing this to the VE - 22, is the basic preamp and compression fundamental tone just as good? Does the chromatic pitch correction setting work well for subtle? All I really want is a decent sounding compression, very light pitch correction, and vocal doubling, or octaves. Just wondering which unit would work best for me. This little compact one looks convenient.
Love the guitar tone. What effects are you using on it or is it just a straight feed?
I like the first song a lot.
Fantastic singer no doubt. Been trying to replicate the first tune... what guitar does he play on?
I wonder if i hook up a mic to my BOSS GT-100 if the harmonist will be better then on this tiny box.. it should be, there are more things i can tweak.
Hola buen material,!!, curiosidad que guitarra es?
Would love to wrap my harmonica around that. Just checked price. Out of my price range unfortunately. Looks good though.
Nice performed, and explications, but what's the name of song intro?
IS THERE A MIDI INPUT FOR KEYBOARD USE, FOR INSTANT CHORD TO FOLLOW FOR PRECISION, and a foot switch to turn on/off the harmony?
Hi! It works if i play a song come from a tablet in the guitar input? He detect the key? Or only works with guitar.
I've now got a VE-2 and love it...but I guess you can't use an Amp that only has one jack input ?... as the pedal needs to go to the amp and so does the guitar? hence the XLR out goes to the Amp jack input and I have to play guitar unamplified
All I want for Christmas !!!!
That’s a great review. Thank you. I’m tempted Can I use it on the average pedal board ?
Yes, absolutely
@@GuitarInteractive thank you.
@@GuitarInteractive my goodness. I thought you looked familiar- you play with Pete now ! All the best to you.
Is it possible to change/tap the delay time? Great demo.
Finally this is what im loiking for
Hi, what if i dont have any playing instrument, how will boss ve2 detect the minor and major keys of a song
You have a great voice. You sound like James Dean Bradfield, the lead singer of the Manic Street Preachers 👏🏼
Exactly what i was thinking, especially on the second song
This is the way to use these pedals .
Thank you I need lots help in voice. I don't like even back up, but, as feed back from the mic goes how does harmonics from or feed back of a metal guitar effect it?? Thanks AWSOME vid
Great demo, Needs a momentary option and the knobs are way too close to the pedal, can't see it when standing, this wouldn't last long live.
Thanks buddy ; Better than reading owners man !
Could you please tell me what you are using for a effect on the guitar please.
Sounds like a little chorus added.
can this be used in a home recording through a audio interface or only for live work. sounds great
Nice but can you do 4ths with this device? Suspended chords, if you will.
Very good review
Wow technology awesome I have to get this, one man band
Hi dude !! At 9m:30scs you say that the footswitch can be made momentary.. I can't find any information on that setting. Could you please give me some advice??
Will this work with bass, or does it need chords rather than single notes?
Super demo!Really nice!Anyone know which guitar is that one?
why does my Ve-2 always cut out my voice completely when hitting certain notes?
Does the guitar automatic key change system over ride the key switch? So if I change it to 'C' for example and play a song in 'A' it will harmonise in A?
Thanks for this review. Is there a way to tempo match the delay?
Great review, thanks
Anyone know more about the auto tune/pitch correction to the main vocal ?
This dude can sing
What harmony is your best suggestions to use with a digital piano? I imagine stereo.
Thanks. Anyone done any side by sides of the Boss compared to the TC Helicon Harmony G-XT? Is there a noticeable harmony / sound quality advantage of one vs the other?
If the auto harmonist button is pressed it turns green. What does that indicate?✌🏼🇺🇸
Alguém ao sabe onde conseguir um desse no Brasil
What would happen if you plug a bass guitar instead of a acoustic
It should work to a degree but an acoustic guitar will work allot better.
Does anyone know what the intro song is called and who the author is?
Thank you.
When I try to use my boss harmonist I get the sound of the guitar with an effect on it instead of just the ordinary guitar sound, any idea what I'm doing wrong please?
Hey, guys! Which one do you prefer? The "BOSS VE 2 Vocal Harmonist" or the "TC HELICON Harmony Singer"? And why? Thank you all! o/
The Boss VE-2 is my choice. More logical for live playing.
+Andrew Jaster Thanks for the answer! =D I haven't bought any of them yet, but the TC Helicon sounds much more natural to my ears, according to the videos that I saw.
How can you connect a beatbuddy to the boss
Hello, does it works well with a trumpet or other brass? Thinking in buying one, Thanks
whether it can on the keyboard what is the price of the product
lastima que no activastes los subtitulos, no entendi nada.
Very nice... I see acoustic / solo singers using this... What if you are in a loud, electric, rock band? can you send a dry, electric, guitar signal to it? then play an old Aerosmith or ACDC song,, will the way you play electric still work to make harmony? and really work with a ROCKIN' band?
This has line through so you put it first in your pedal board chain. In other words, it's only receiving dry guitar signal before you add drive/distortion etc.
Hi Mick, great singing, just love your vocal style even without the pedal.
as the saying goes , its the singer and not the song.
I am a restaurant musician, singer from India
After watching almost all the demo videos , I made up my mind to pick up the Boss ve2 only after watching you use it.
Can you please let me know the name of the first song you sing in this video.
Tyron
I guess that was a NO!
BOSS No fabricado una con simuladores por ejemplo de piano, órgano trompetas . Y rítmica con varias baterías como vals, Bossa Nova, bolero cumbia y otro tipo de acompañamientos.
Great voice!
Hi.. Can I use this ONLY as a guitar interface to record acoustic/ electric guitar on Logic Pro? How good is it for that purpose? when I am not using any mic I mean, as I would mostly record guitar and vocals separately.
Thanks!!
Great review. Just wonder if the output is both guitar and vocal in one cable?
You can use LINE OUT connector in the back
