when I first met my wife in a bar, it as of course loud and smokey. The night came to a end and we were talking and I said we have to dance, I went to juke box and there was not much on there. I saw this and played, she never knew the song but it became 4 minutes that felt like the next 25 years in a insant. She is gone now but I wish she was here to see this rendition. love ya sweety.
The memory of this song will always be with you and your wife for eternity... Treasure this memorable lovely moments till your last day.... good day....
I beg to differ. One of the greatest songs period. But I know that is what you meant anyway. Peace, love, good things for you, put a candle in the window and they will be coming home soon.
My late father struggled with addiction and loved this song, he would sing it as loud as possible with tears streaming down his face. Here I sit with tears down mine hearing him in my head "YEAHHHH" LOL. THANK YOU
der beste Song um das Gefühl zu beschreiben einfach mal loszukommen, loszulassen und das Leben zu genießen als das was es ist, frei, ungebunden und ohne Angst.
John Fogerty is one of the greatest musicians of the past 50 years! John is still out there rockin' it and still has his incredible voice. There are VERY few musicians that can say they have been doing this stuff for 50+ years and sound as good today as they did when they first started out. He will no doubt go down in history as one of the true "greats" in the music industry. Rock on John.
Just saw him 2 weeks ago for the second time. I was up in the front and he was amazing. He's even better at the guitar now. Tapping and sweeping and shredding. Love him
his voice is more up in his nasal cavity now...instead of the guttural growl...Father Time is cruel on the vocal cords. One of my favorite Fogerty songs though...about as as close as he got to a love song during the CCR years.
We saw him in Toronto, Canada last Friday night. There are NO words to describe how awesome his music sounded even after all these years, the feeling of pure JOY in that place that night. He sounded so great and rocked it out for 2 1/2 hrs. I don't get this way about everyone, but he's always been one of my very favorites. HIS music will live in forever! So glad he has stayed true to himself and his music. Don't miss a chance to see him if you get one. It was an unforgettable experience!
There's a lot of talented musicians out there but I can't think of anyone more talented than John. Triple threat with vocals, writing, and guitar. I would put Ray Davies a close second!
i mean just when ya think u seen it all u find clips of Fogerty with the Fairfield Four and full rocherstras and u just....melt happily into musial art osul bliss
I grew up with this music in Germany (as a german lad). My oldest brother was responsible for that. Therefore I love him! (my brother and JF) And i will never forget JF and my brother. Until I die.
I got the chance to see this legend at Fox Theater in Stl. A legend , and his music shows its a shame what music has turned to .... Fogerty is an Icon .
I had the opportunity of seeing this man and his sons live and it was easily one of the best days of my life. John Fogerty is such a legend and I recommend you see him if you get the chance. Hes getting up there now so there may not be too many performances left on him.
I am very sorry to hear of your son's passing. What a wonderful song to celebrate his life. He will be with you everyday and has gone into another life, filled with peace, love and happiness. Rest assured he is at peace.
Amen to the lord on this song. Lost my best friend from Liver failure. She drank her Vodka way to much. She never told me why she became homeless. She drank all of her money away she got from her mom. I miss her a lot.
El mejor de los mejores, es un capo John Fogerty todavía me sigue haciendo llorar con sus canciones, desde niña creci escuchando sus canciones y es el mejor del mundo...
Jesus. That was good. I felt so lucky, somebody got me backstage passes for him at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, stage facing probably 7-10,000 people, and I just wanted to hear one song. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wanted to hear ALL of his songs, but there was one song in particular. But I didn't know if, with all his material, there was any chance I'd get it. But when I slipped back-stage/side-stage, I was so close to him that I could see the set-list at his feet (it was in big print cause he was already in his late 60s), there it was, second song of the second set. And I was just giddy. And let me tell ya, I've seen a lot of amazing acts at that festival, The Allman Bros., Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Al Green, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Herbie Hancock, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana at least half a dozen times, need I go on? And that, Fogerty's performance of this song, on a hot, hot day in New Orleans, with 7-10,000 people swaying along, that's a musical memory I will cherish til the day I die.
I will allways love John Fogerty!! He is is the extension of Sun Records and Elvis....allways was!! And as an an Elvisfan...I have known this many, many years!...
Saw him live in Gothenburg, Sweden in tje summer of 2019. He performed this song just as good as in the video. That is a expierince I will never forget. Glad I got the chance to share with my dad as well. Thank you John Fogerty, may you live forever.
And I saw him at Dalhalla here in Sweden in July. He performed this song there as well. And it was magic. How lovey for your dad too see and listen to Fogerty!
My God. Every time this man performs, I think I've seen it all. Then, a gem like this pops up. I just don't know what to say. I was brought to tears. Viva John. Never go away again. There will always be ears waiting.
My life would be complete just to do this song with John. No audience, nothing. Just a session with him. To be able to sing with this guy after following him musically since the beginning would make my life.
Put a candle in the window 'Cause I feel I've gotta move. Though I'm goin', goin' I'll be comin' home soon Long as I can see the light. TRULY an inspirational performance!!! And the band this guy has to back him is anyone's DREAM band!! The backup singers, the orchestra, his vocal 100% on pitch, his guitar playing flawless!!! Gives me cold chills to listen to this!!
From Denmark. I had the great experience that creedence was on top when I was 12 to 15 year , they were, he was my absolute number 1 Thank you for many good years of music.
As a matter of fact.. it's the ability of this song to be 'transformed' with such ease into a orchestral score that shows its versatility and strength as a musical number that can speak through 'any' media. Well done John!!
Man! Nothing wrong with letting a song grow! Just a different version, but WHAT A VERSION! Maybe not rock and roll as such - but you can FEEL this one like crazy! That's what it's all about. Keep on Choooooooglin John!
+Musicrelic Yes you are right it's not rock and roll. This is an abortion and belongs to be consigned to Mall background music. What was he thinking of ? Cosmos and the lads must be spinning. Just my opinion mate nothing personalmeant. Regards to you and yours.
This was so moving it has left me robbed for words. I am usually quite poetic but for some un foretold reason I got nothing now. Nothing that could even merit this performance I saw here today. .
This man is in my opinion the finest singer..songwriter and front man of all the great bands from the 60s & 70s just reflect on his legacy of songs ..and he still sounds fantastic . KC
The absolutely most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard. Thanks to the brass, the wood, the strings and the choir!!! Oh. I forgot the Percussion. Sorry! Something else? Greetings from Germany.

This man is a national treasure. In American songwriting history, there are few who have equaled his musical achievement.
Henley and Frey are my best guesses . But they are all America Icons .Im Canadian but grew up listening to this. The real deal!
One of the greatest blues/rock/country/gospel-call it what you want. Incredible! Thank you for the post. John Forgrty is an amazing musician!!!!!
A gospel rock power ballad with some blue eyed soul and jazz. The granddaddy of power ballads.
