Thank you so much Gruggs, I really do feel honoured. Wow even Unni the squirrel chaser got a shout out (real profession sled dog). Mine still holding up really well. 80CRV2 is really good steel. Of the steels that are within my budget range it is my favourite.

It’s EXCELLENT! Glad you enjoyed! What did you think about the review? The knife stayed plenty sharp!

@@LegionTacticoolCutlery yes great review mate. You have your own style and your own way of doing things and it works great (less chaotic than mine 😂). 80crv2 always takes a pounding in my experience.

    Thanks for sharing.
It would be cool to see some kind of edge retention test to see if the steel is real or heat treated well.

You don't think that pounding the edge into that wood the way I did is not a decent retention test? The blade did not chip, or warp. Stayed really sharp after all that work. What other type of tests in the field would one actually to while camping, hunting, or hiking?

@@LegionTacticoolCutlery I feel like that's a good way to test the toughness of the steel moreso than than the edge retention. I think cutting something like thick cardboard or thick rope would show how well the knife retains an edge a little better, as these will dull the knife a lot faster than cutting through wood. For example, DBK will do all the wood cutting, but then they also sharpen the knife and cut through the ultra thick rope to see how many cuts the knife can do before dulling.
Either way the video is appreciated.

For testing input, I think you're already on the money for me
I'm interested in seeing edge stability, on big knives that's chopping some hardwood to see if the edge rolls at all. On small knives I'm not sure the best way to reasonably test that, maybe cut some wire and see if it deforms or degrades the edge? Outpost76 used to do edge stability tests on an aluminum block using a standardized edge and seeing what the damage is, but that might be asking alot for how much output you do.
