After that I later got a Roland XP-10 (my first decent entry-level pro synth), then after I graduated from college almost four years later and started my first real job that paid good money, I got a Roland MC-505 groovebox. A little over a year after that, I upgraded from the XP-10 to a Fantom-S 61. This was back between the span of 1998-2004. Fast forward to today and I still have my DR660, plus I have two R-8M rack midi modules (each with the 808 card and one with both the 909 card as well), 2 original TR808 drum machines (both upgraded with midi), a Roland Integra-7, and a Fantom-06. So yeah, Roland gear has been a big part of my life ever since I first started making music with REAL pro gear, and it still is today.

You’re getting there!!! That’s all you need, the fantom. Couple that with the RME UFX interface, then Neve EQ’s and Neve compressor. Then you’re all set with developing a magical sound. 👍.
Been a Roland fan for a couple decades but recently I sold my Fantom 8 and just kept the Zenology Pro VST, it's way more flexible and portable!

I still own an X6, Juno-60, D-50 and a P-330 rack module. I’m also thinking about buying an RD-2000 because I’m in the market for a new 88 key. I learned a lot back in the day on the RD-250. Roland forever. 💯

Maaaannn I've been looking for a replacement for my JP8000 and I've looked at the System 8, I saw the plugouts they have and wish they did a JP8000 plugout that way I can use all the expansions I've bought for it and not have to leave them there in the HD sitting‼️

I know the fantom inside out. Composing on it for ANY style is possible with it. The sampling though…is a nightmare with two Freddy krugers 😂 & I really hate to say this but there is a timing issue in the sequencer when it loops back it’s a noticeable delay depending on the sounds used & or load.

I've been saying it for the last 4 years the big boy Fantom is where it's at.
I bought a roland x 8 Back in 2005 I still have it. I pondered 3 years and I regretted it Some of the pawn shop. S you know how it's damwell when I got it back. A lot of buttons weren't working, so I did my research. How some guys are took it apart and I cleaned it with some. Electronic cleaner couple of times and I got some of the buttons working. I got about 99% of it going. But I'm afraid that baby 1 day is gonna go out and I done some great-great work with it.Incredible workstatiand because I thought Roland wasn't putting out a new work station.I was thinking about getting the The korg nautilus. That keyboard has some great soand also I heard this guy. He wrote some good songs on it now. On my keyboard, I did some great stuff. That time, there was no platforms at that time. There was just myspace. It was for kids.

My first Roland was the JV -1000 my first choice was the JV 90 my father turned me on to Roland when I was a tot tot!!! I need to buy the upgrade with my Fantom!!! This was the hardest beat I’ve heard on the Fantom on YT!!! I need to go back to tracking Daw less!!! I’ve sold songs off my old G6 when it first came out!!!

So this is a workstation? Back in days I had a Yamaha MOTIF & RS7000 . I loved getting lost in the machine and making tracks all in one device . Since then I’ve used Native Instruments Keyboard, Logic and other software; but I still desire having ONE piece of equipment and knowing it so in depth, it’s like an extension of my mind… Even after using Logic for years, I still lose “flow” at times doing a “IT work” 🤔
This is the 'modern' idea of a workstation keyboard from Roland. DAW integration, multiple synth engines, basic sampling and sequencing, easy to use and versatile live control for gigging musicians.
Only equipment I keep is Roland, Roland:EDIROL and Native Instruments. I need to add this to my collection.
Almost put in an order for the Montage M8X yesterday...glad i waited. This is tempting. Prices are kinda crazy though...at least here in europe.

@@Bruce.-Wayne While that's absolutely true, Roland was a more affordable option before and now isn't anymore. Also, the price increase from the original Fantom 8 (around 3400 EUR) to the Fantom 8 EX (around 4800 EUR) is imho not justified since the ex firmware upgrade only costs 219 EUR and the new hardware brings nothing new to the table.
Did they fix the after touch issues?
They should release a module version of this unit. I’d cop it for sure. No space for more keys.
The Roland Integra is close to the Fantom. I think it has all of the sounds the Fantom has

Well, I made my first Beats on a Roland XP 80 Workstation in 1997. You can call me a Roland Fanboy ...but to be honest, my JVC - Expansion Cards (expensive at that time) sounded much better than this Fantom. The only thing that is much better, is the Workflow on this brand-new Workstation (of course it is because it´s modern). But the Sounds are disappointing. At least the ones you have used now compared to my old Roland Boards. I suggest the Integra Interface in use with a DAW. But hey, very interesting Video Bolo. Thx Bro 👍
Yes. The Integra sounds great. I wouldn't mind adding a Fantom XR rack to it to get back the sounds I lost from the Fantom S 61 I used to have, plus more. Some of the sounds from the old Fantom series are not available in the new Fantoms, unfortunately.

Im a little confused on this? The site says the EX Has now 7k sounds? The Original had 3500 sounds? Is there anything Xtra if one has the Fantom 6 and purchased the EX Upgrade? Is there any difference?
The Fantom 6 is now selling for 2599.00 + 199.00 for EX Upgrade...=2800.00 that is still much cheaper than buying the "new Fantom EX" at 3200? What am i missing? Anything new under the hood? Polyphony fix? More Sounds? So... if someone had the flagship and the ex upgrade? Is all you're missing is the EX sticker for 400.00 more and now able to sell the sounds? 😒 🤔

Roland have turned into Sega, putting those mega drive/genesis classics everywhere and charging a little for ot, then releasing a compilation of it for full retail price. Roland have zenbeats and zenology that you can run on pretty much anything then they release expansion packs and then do this EX that costs more than it should.
