Big dog in the zoo - train obedience

Dogs react to the smells and sounds of other animals. Mostly with curiosity or their hunting instinct. This behavior can be dangerous on a daily walk. Especially if the dog weighs over 50kg, since it is mostly difficult to control with the leash alone. Therefore, it makes sense to practice with the dog in a safe environment. The zoo is a good choice. Here you can practice following commands, even if the dog is distracted by the smells of other animals.
Regular training in the zoo is advisable for the safe socialization of your dog. If your dog can be safely called up here, your chance of unexpected encounters in the forest increases!

What do you feed your bullmastiff?

We mainly feed dry food which is suitable for large breeds. In between there are carrots and rumen as a treat. We stopped feeding bones after our dog almost dies of it. He had tried to swallow a large bone in one piece and it got stuck in front of the stomach. Was an expensive operation :-(

@@gretelbullmastiff9857 Oh that's no good! Yeah they tend to take things in massive gulps, I could see bones being tricky. Are there any treats that keep Gretel occupied for long periods of time instead of bones?

@@bannedfromisrael We give her sticks from beef skin. They are about 30cm long. She is busy with it for a long time and then always totally exhausted. If Gretel swallows them, they soften in the intestine. We also abolished pig ears because she always wanted to swallow them and then almost suffocated.
